NOTE: I don't think anyone has tried this with Cardfight Vanguard. So, I'm gonna try my hand at the Thanos Snap taking place in this universe.

Chapter 1: Broken Fighters

In the dark cloudy sky a huge red and black ring crumbles to pieces. Each piece landing on the ground below, almost crushing the spectators below. Misaki Tokura and the rest of her allies could only watch from the ground as the final fight between rivals took place on top of the Tatsunagi Building.

"Aichi…" Misaki eyed her left side when her clubmate Kourin Tatsunagi spoke Aichi's name. The lavender haired teen sighed with a smile at Kourin's obvious feelings. Misaki turns her attention back to the top of the building.

"You better make it back, Aichi. Everyone is waiting for you two," Misaki whispered.

TOP OF TATSUNAGI BUILDING

His best friend and rival has finally rejected the Reverse and returned to normal. Aichi Sendou couldn't be any happier than he is right now, however they were still in a cardfight and Aichi needed to finish sending his and everyone's feelings into Kai's heart.

"Draw! To release those who are in the grip of a spell, come forth, king of all knights! I ride...Liberator, Monarch Sanctuary Alfred!" The mighty king of the Gold Paladins stands tall behind Aichi. "Cheer Up's skill! Give power to Alfred! Alfred's Limit Break!" A white circle shines brightly in front of Alfred. Toshiki Kai watches patiently in preparation for Aichi's attacks.

"Use your sacred soul to release everything from what is cursed and evil! Liberate the lock! Soothe wounds with your holy light." All the rearguards on Aichi's board return to his deck, leaving Alfred to stand alone. However, the young hero is far from done with his turn. "Five comrades gather on the battlefield!" Five cards float from the top of his deck and swiftly move onto the rearguard circles.

"Bruno, Epona, Arum, Gancelot! And then…" Toshiki Kai gasps in shock at the next rearguard to be revealed. A card that represents the bond that he and Aichi hold together.

"Stand up, my...our avatar! Blaster Blade!" The mighty knight of the Royal/Gold Paladins shines forth onto the battlefield once more. The two strongest fighters stared into each other's eyes for a brief moment, before Aichi continued talking.

"Bruno had 19000 power with its skill. With Cheer Up Trumpeter's skill, Alfred has 31000 power! On top of that..ULTIMATE BREAK! With this, Alfred gets +10000 power and an extra critical!" All of the Gold Paladin units glow blue and lend their power to their king. "Kai! This is my soul's Ultimate Break!" Aichi declares to his rival.

Kai slowly nods his head in acceptance. "His soul's...Ultimate Break…"

"That one attack crushes everything! Return to your rightful form! Sacred light, shine bright! The sparkle of hope! Sacred Sparkle!" Alfred's shoulder builds up a beam attack to launch at Kai's field.

"Perfect Guard!" Kai prevents the attack from going through.

"Drive trigger check!" The first check reveals a Gancelot Zenith. "Second check! Heal Trigger! I give the power to Gancelot, and heal 1 damage point." Aichi removes a card from the damage zone.

Toshiki Kai could only tense up from the anticipation and excitement building up inside of him. "The best opponent, fitting for the end...Aichi...I'm glad it was you." Kai smiles in acceptance of his coming defeat.

"Gancelot!"

"Guard!"

"Here I come, Kai!" Aichi couldn't stop the grin from appearing across his face and neither could Kai. "The Blaster Blade that you gave me...attacks! Anger! Love! Hatred! Adoration! Go through all of it, my avatar!" Hearing the call from his vanguard, Blaster Blade rushes forward to strike down Dragonic Overlord.

Kai closes his eyes accepting his defeat. The mighty knight slashes twice, bringing down the tall dragon and sending the sixth damage into Kai's damage zone.

"You win, Aichi."

"Kai…"

As the two smiles at one another the dark ring in the sky breaks apart even more crashing on top of the roof the two stand on.

BELOW THE BUILDING

"AICHI!" Multiple voices cry out as the debris covers their vision with dust. As the dust settles a figure begins to walk through the remaining cloud to reveal Aichi Sendou. At the sight of their beloved friend the energetic ones of the group start to rush forward before pausing. They pause when Toshiki Kai walks through the dust cloud to stand next to Aichi.

Apprehension appears on everyone's faces while remorse and regret fill Kai's face once more. But, as always in his time of need, Aichi grabs his hand in a reassuring manner. He relaxes and allows Aichi to pull him forward towards their friends. In response, Kamui, Naoki, and Shingo run forward to congratulate Aichi as everyone else smiles in happiness at the return of Aichi and Kai.

Kourin Tatsunagi waits back with Misaki so as not to get caught up with the more reckless members of their group. Her heart beats rapidly as she looks at the man who saved her...the man who saved the world.

Misaki taps her shoulder getting Kourin's attention. Turning to her first female friend, Misaki points towards Aichi who begins to walk towards her. Kourin's breath hitches from seeing Aichi's bright smile, so in return Kourin gives a beautiful smile of her own.

"I'm right here, Aichi. I won't let some evil force get in the way of me saying these words to you," Kourin thought. In respect for the two knights, everyone backs up to give the two of them room. The world itself stood still in anticipation of the words these two were about to reveal to one another.

In another reality, this would've been a happy ending. However, on this day fate had other plans.

Naoki Ishida smirked at the two love-birds in front of him. "Hehe, about time those two figured it out. Right, Granny-Glasses?" Naoki turns to look at Shingo standing at his left.

Only to find dust floating in Shingo's place.

"G-Granny-Glasses? OI! Shingo!" Naoki frantically whips his head around to find Shingo. His yelling attracts the attention of all the other Fighters nearby. Aichi, Kourin, and Misaki rush over to Naoki.

Misaki grabs Naoki's shoulder to get his attention. "Naoki, calm down! What happened!? Where's Shingo!?"

"I-I don't know! He was just next to me and suddenly he wasn't. As if he just disappeared," Naoki explains, desperation in his voice.

The Miyaji Cardfight Club looked confused at Naoki's explanation. "That doesn't make any sense, Naoki. How can people just randomly disappe-"

"KYYYYYAAAAAA!"

"SHARLENE!"

Heads whip over to the Aqua Force Trio to find Sharlene in Leon's arms as her body turns to dust. Jillian's face is covered in tears as her little sister crumbles to pieces in front of her. Leon keeps shouting her name in desperation as one of his family dies in front of him.

"I-I'm sorry I couldn't stand by your side longer, Master Leon...you too sis," Sharlene whispers.

"I'll figure something out Sharlene! Just stay with me!" Leon begged, on borderline tears. Jillian couldn't get any words out as her sobs kept getting louder and louder. Sharlene gives one last smile before her body vanishes into dust. Sharlene's remains scatter into the wind as if to mock Leon's entire world. The lone Soryu stared in silence at the world around him, hugged Jillain, then cried himself.

Reality slaps the Miyaji Academy Cardfight Club in the face as the scene confirms Shingo's fate. Tears build up in their eyes in despair and Naoki collapses to his knees.

"Dammit...dammit….DAMMIT! SHINGO!" Naoki raises his arms to slam them into the ground, but right before they collide his arms burst into dust.

"Ah…"

Aichi stumbles towards Naoki, falling onto his knees to hug his friend. Just as his hands touch Naoki's shoulders, he disappears completely. Only leaving his ashes to fall on the soft grass, and the three club members burst into full tears from the pain.

"Kai.."

The spiky brown teen's eyes widened as his childhood friend started to fall apart. Kai reached out his hand towards Miwa.

"Miwa…"

"I'll see ya soon, buddy."

Miwa disappeared and Kai couldn't comprehend it.

"Guys..I...I don't feel so good…" Kamui stumbled, terrified as his legs started to give way. Aichi, Misaki, and Kai watch in horror as another friend begins to die. Kamui's eyes flash towards Q4 and then Rekka.

"Sorry, that I couldn't stick around longer guys. Tell that I loved her."

Kamui's burning flame finally burnt out.

Asaka Narumi and Tetsu watched in horror as pieces of dust started to fly off of Ren's body. The Red-head looked scared for a moment, before smiling at Asaka's and Tetsu's horror struck faces.

"Tetsu...Asaka...it's been fun!" Ren waved as if this was a normal goodbye. Asaka reaches out for Ren, but only grasps the empty air.

"MASTER REN!"

"REEEENNNNN!"

"Suiko….why is this happening...Suiko?" Rekka reached out for her elder's sleeve only to grasp empty air. Tears fell from her eyes as she stared at the dust particles in the air. She could only hope that Emi and Mai didn't fall victim to this nightmare.

At the nightmarish sight of both her brother and Koutei disappearing, Yuri only could do one thing. She quickly placed her lips to Koutei's lips in a final attempt of professing her love. The dying Koutei's face showed surprise, then melted into kiss before disappearing into the wind along with Gai.

The mighty Caesar had fallen once more.

Three other dust piles laid on the ground as well. Nobody else had noticed Kyou and his two followers disappear in the mass panic.

Misaki Tokura's phone rang, regaining her wits. The teen looked at her phone and noticed her uncle calling. Swiping the screen to answer, she placed the phone next to her ear to hear her uncle's frantic worries.

"MISAKI! WHERE ARE YOU!? ARE YOU OK!?" Shin screamed through the phone.

"Un-uncle…" Misaki's strained voice responded. Shin sighed in relief from hearing his niece's voice.

"Misaki, there's something strange happening! Izaki and some other patrons just burst into dust! And it's not just here! The news has reported people all over the world have been disappearing!" Shin explained.

"S-Shin...Kamui...Miwa...Naoki...Shing-" Misaki stopped talking and dropped her phone.

"Misaki...MISAKI WHAT'S WRONG!?"

"A...A...Ai...AICHI!"

Aichi Sendou was disappearing right before their eyes. Everyone's shining Vanguard was disappearing from the world and there was nothing they could do. Kourin and Kai were already at Aichi's side with Kai holding him in his arms. Tears falling from his eyes.

His best friend was dying...just after saving him from darkness...he was losing his best friend.

If Kourin didn't believe she could cry any harder than she already has...then Aichi dying is proving her incredibly wrong. The blonde idol couldn't even speak sentences with all the tears and snot clogging her system.

Aichi's beautiful dark blue eyes looked at Kai.

"Thank you for the beautiful memories, Kai. I love Vanguard and all of my friends with all of my being, please take Blaster Blade and keep playing Vanguard." As if hearing his Vanguard's desire, Blaster Blade flew into Kai's empty hand.

Aichi turned his head to Kourin and sighed, lovingly.

"Kourin….I...lo...ve...you…"

Aichi Sendou the Vanguard vanished from the world.

Misaki quickly caught Kourin's unconscious body, before she hit the ground.

As for Kai...for the first time in his life he roared at the sky in anguish at the cruel fate that had befallen all of them.
