Notes:
This is my rewrite of the ending of Curse Of The 13th Ghost. Velma opening the chest will start off the plot in a series that I will start doing in around late April or early May. It will be my own reboot of 13 Ghosts. (Also, her attitude will be fixed in the first episode) I like the idea of the 13th ghost seeking redemption and trying to watch over & protect Vincent, so it will be a big thing here & in my 13 Ghosts reboot. The reason Fred isn't in here is because for right now, he's in Honolulu, the place where Daphne and Shaggy were planning to go at the start of the first 13GSD episode. Bogel & Weerd aren't here because they're still looking for Asmodeus somewhere in the world. What happened to Scrappy will be revealed in my first episode. However, him, Bogel & Weerd, and Fred will appear at some point in my series.
Jayden & Cheryl are my main OC's. They are exactly the same age as Flim Flam in my story. (Jayden & Flim Flam are still 15 while Cheryl just turned 16) Both of them will be a part of the main gang in my series. In my 13 Ghosts timeline, they were there during the OG 13 Ghosts series. Shaggy, Daphne, and Velma turned 23 during the events of 13 Ghosts. In this fanfic, they are currently 27. Daphne has her purple eyes, wavy hair, and jumpsuit that she was wearing in the movie. Shaggy has his jacket and hat on, but also his red shirt and blue jeans on instead of his green shirt. Vincent still has his blue eyes from the OG 13 Ghosts series.
On a small snowy hill in the Himalayas, Vincent and the gang were catching up with Flim Flam. Discussing all that had been going on in their lives since they last left him and Vincent years ago. They didn't want to leave them, and it was a very painful and hard thing to do so. But they had to. Scooby Doo was already overwhelmed with anxiety because of all of the ghosts that he had to recapture. Bogel & Weerd basically made it even worse. At times, Scooby had several nervous breakdowns and quit until he was convinced to rejoin the gang.
What happened to his nephew Scrappy Doo after they recaptured the 12th ghost threw him over the edge. He never fully recovered from that...
And yet, here he was years later, still standing. With the support of his best friend Shaggy and the rest of his friends, and with the help of a calming spell from Vincent, he felt better. Looking forward to what would come next in life.
Meanwhile, Velma, who was skeptical of the whole 13 Ghosts thing, was looking through the luggage, finding the actual Chest of Demons everyone had been talking about. At first, she didn't want to believe it was the real chest, but then she was tempted to open it.
"The real Chest of Demons!" She exclaimed, holding the box in her hands.
"Velma, be careful with that!" Cheryl said nervously. She had emerald green eyes, long wavy red hair, was wearing a red and black flannel coat, black jeans and a white shirt, and a gray beanie hat.
"Yeah really, you don't want to know what'll happen if you open that chest." Daphne warned her, with a serious look on her face.
"Oh, please, Velma grinned, "it's just a box."
"Velma, I swear if you open that chest, I-" Jayden, who had glasses on, was wearing a blue sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a black beanie hat, short brown hair, and hazel green eyes, tried to tell her, but then he was cut off when she opened the box.
There was a large set of smoke and a chilling wind that shot out of the chest, then each of the 12 ghosts went out into the world, ready to cause chaos wherever they went.
"Like oh no, not again," Shaggy gulped, as he and Scooby watched the ghosts fly away.
"Ruh roh," Scooby sighed, knowing he would have to relive one of the things he feared the most.
Vincent, who was angered at the sight of the ghosts being freed again, started to walk over to Velma, who was in total shock. Before he could say anything to her, someone else appeared right in front of him. That someone was a red ghost demon with large wings, sharp teeth, sharp claws, and glowing yellow eyes. He looked to be about 13 feet tall.
Velma saw the demon, screamed, then fainted for a couple of seconds. Daphne helped her back up. Everyone else gasped and backed away in fear at the ghost. Except Vincent, who knew that it was actually his ancestor this time.
"Asamad?'' Vincent almost whispered, wondering why the demon wasn't attacking anyone, or trying to go for the chest.
"Wait, now this is the actual 13th ghost?" Jayden questioned, remembering how evil and dangerous Vincent told them he was, "Scooby, get the chest."
"No, don't do that. I'm not here to hurt any of you or steal the chest." Asamad explained. He had a deep voice. "Don't worry Vincent, I'll handle this," he said calmly. "What were YOU thinking?" he fumed at Velma.
"I'm sorry!" she cried, "I had no idea the ghosts were actually real!"
"What do you mean you had no idea?" Daphne asked. "We told you over and over again that they were real and dangerous, but you just denied it."
"You weren't even with us when we caught the ghosts last time, you have no say in this." Jayden declared.
"You almost put my descendant and his friends in mortal danger!" Asamad shouted.
"I thought you were like super evil, why do you care if Vincent and the rest of us get hurt?" Cheryl wondered.
"Well, I did used to be evil, but then I had a change of heart. It all started when Vincent put me back in the chest centuries ago after he accidentally let me out," the demon answered, "After I saw him that night, which would be the last time I'd see him again before Shaggy & Scooby let me out, I began to regret my misdeeds, thinking about the damage I caused, how I hurt my family and how I hurt Vincent. So, I started to seek redemption instead of revenge. I vowed to myself that as soon as the chest was opened back up, I would find him again, watch over him and try to protect him, serving as his guardian angel, or uh demon you could say. And I did exactly that. When I saw the rest of you join Vincent, I watched over all of you too, until you left. Then, it was just Vincent I kept my eye on for a while. I was going to cross over to the other side and rest in peace after it seemed that I succeeded in keeping him and you guys safe, but then I heard the chest being reopened, so I had to make sure everyone was okay."
"Well if that's true, then that's really nice of you. Thank you, Asamad," Vincent smiled.
"You're welcome," Asamad replied.
"So, since you're still here, how would you like to join us on our quest of recapturing the 12 ghosts?" Flim Flam requested.
"If you help us recapture at least one of the ghosts, you can be a part of our team." Daphne mentioned.
"Sure, i'll join you," Asamad agreed, "Also, Velma, you're going to have to recapture all the other demons."
"What?! Why?" Velma complained.
"Because you let them out." Vincent responded.
"Yeah, but don't worry, Vincent, Shaggy, and Scooby had to do the same thing as well." Flim Flam added.
"Like yeah, it was awful, but meeting Vincent and Flim Flam were worth it, right Scoob?" Shaggy said.
"Ruh-huh." Scooby replied.
"Come on gang, let's go catch us some ghosts, again!" Cheryl beamed.
And with that they all piled into the Mystery Flying Machine, ready to take on the 12 ghosts, and learn more about the 13th ghost as well.
