Hoshi/ Ebi's point of view

Recess

Shika and I were laying in the grass staring up at the sky when we heard our best friends yelling at each other. I tried to ignore them, but I knew I couldn't. Shika just blocked them out. It was rather funny to think about them fighting. We all used to hang out. Izuku, Katsuki, Himari, Shika, and I have known each other for years. Our mothers had been friends' years before we were born well minus Shika's... Katsuki gave all of us nicknames. We all call Himari Karai, Izuku is now Deku, Shika is Henjin, and my nickname is Ebi. I think it's insulting. Deku means useless, Karai means salty,Henjin means weirdo, and Ebi means shrimp. So, I'm 4'8 What's the big deal I haven't gotten my growth spurt yet like everyone else. Deku and Kacchan were closer to each other like me, Shika, and Himari are, now Kacchan hates I don't get is he gets along perfectly with Shika. Shika is Deku's cousin. Her parents dropped her off and never looked back. It's stupid why Kacchan hates Deku, It's because Deku is quirkless. I guess I better stop them.

"Kacchan, leave Deku alone." someone had yelled from across the playground.

I got up and walked over to them. Shika stayed laying in the grass. When I got there Kacchan, and his goons were around Deku. I looked behind Kacchan and saw someone getting ready to hit him, I saw the blonde hair and gray eyes and knew right away that it was Karai. I would rather stay away from Kacchan and Deku fighting because it's pointless. It's the same thing every day. Kacchan and his goons pick on Deku then Karai tries to get Kacchan to stop. I then must go and defuse the situation. What I don't get is Karai doesn't really like Deku and neither do I. I mean he's not a bad person we just don't click. I have nothing against him. I just won't go out of my way to be friends with him. Karai feels the same way as I do. She says she only helps him because she doesn't like bullying.

"Kacchan, Karai will you two just grow up already." I said shaking my head.

"Shut up Ebi." Karai and Kacchan said, turning around to face each other.

"We're just talking right Deku." Kacchan said menacingly to Deku.

"Ye- Yeah, Ka-Kacchan all we are doing is talking." Deku stuttered.

"Cut the shit Kacchan." Karai demanded.

"Kiss my ass Karai." Kacchan snapped.

"Language guys." I said shaking my head. I focused my quirk and sent smoke fists at them. Even though they aren't as powerful as my dad's, they still pack a punch. But that's because I'm using my own smoke. You see my mom was Midnight's sister. Instead of putting people to sleep with her aroma smoke, my mom could paralyze people. So, when I use my smoke to punch people, I can paralyze them. But that's only if I use my own smoke if I use other smoke like my dad then it won't paralyze you.

"Ebi I swear I'm going to beat you if you don't stop this crap right now." Kacchan yelled as the fists kept hitting him...

"Ebi I swear to god I'll tell my papa you hate him." Karai said in a threatening way.

"I'll stop if Kacchan leaves Deku alone the rest of the day and Karai you can't smack or punch Kacchan."

"Fine." They said in unison.

After I let the smoke evaporate and just to be a brat, Karai kicked Kacchan behind his knee. Kacchan instantly fell to the ground before jumping back up to chase Karai with the mini-explosions from his hands. I walked back over to the spot in the grass and laid back down. I could still hear Kacchan and Karai running around and yelling I couldn't help but giggle at them. My two best friends.

(time skip after school.)

Karai and I were on the way to my house. It was Friday and she was staying over for the weekend cause her dads had work. This weekend is going to be so fun. There's a carnival in town and my dad is going to take me, Kacchan, and Karai. When we got to my house me and Karai ran in and changed out of our school clothes and took off to Kacchan's house. He only lived down the block from me. We were picking him up to go to the park and hang out. We decided to train and practice our quirks. Well, they did, I was sitting on the swings watching them.

"Ebi get your lazy butt up and train now." Karai yelled by Kacchan's ear while they were sparring.

"Shit, Karai that was my ear. Ebi I will blow you up if you don't get off your ass. I should since you made loudmouth over here yell in my ear." Kacchan said, glaring at me rubbing his ear.

"Don't even think about paralyzing us either." Karai snapped.

"How am I supposed to train if I can use my quirk on you guys." I said fake pouting.

"By using your actual fists." Kacchan yelled as he sent a punch towards Karai.

"Or use it on a random nerd that walks by." Karai said, dodging Kacchan.

"No, she's weak, she needs to beef up." Kacchan said with a smirk.

That pain in the ass always knew what buttons to push.

"Shut up Jackass, I was giving her an option, but she does need beef up." Karai said, punching Kacchan on the arm.

"You bitch. That hurt, see Ebi you need to hit like that not like Deku." Kacchan said, rubbing his back.

"I'm not that bad." I whined at them.

"Yes, you are." They said in unison.

"But you're still our best friend." Karai said, trying to get me to smile.

"Kacchan we'll be right back." I said as I grabbed Karai and took off to the bathrooms.

When we came back out, we didn't see Kacchan over where we left him. We heard the sound of Kacchan's explosions and ran towards the sound. When we got closer, we see Kacchan standing over a crying Deku. I roll my eyes then see Karai stomping over towards them. I followed behind her till she got three feet away, she continued walking up to them. When she got there, she gripped Deku up by his shirt. I thought she was walking back towards me till I saw her turn back around and punch Deku square in the face.

"Wow, weak defenseless Deku can't even take a punch from a girl." Kacchan said with a laugh.

"You Idiot! if you stayed away from him, he wouldn't beat you up. If you weren't such a cry baby maybe, we all would still be friends." Karai snapped at Deku.

"Karai!" I yelled. "That was a little far. I mean he is a cry baby, and he does ask for it when he goes around Kacchan knowing Kacchan doesn't like him. But the reason I don't like him is, due to the fact that he always causes you and Kacchan to fight which causes you guys to get into trouble if I'm not around to stop it. By the way Kacchan you shouldn't be talking. You were complaining earlier when Karai punched you in the back." I said walking towards the bench.

"Stay out of it Ebi." Kacchan snapped.

"What happened to you guys? We used to all be friends." Deku asked, wiping the blood from his nose.

"We grew up, you should try it sometime." Karai said walking back towards me.

"Why would we be friends with a Quirkless nobody like you Deku?" Kacchan asked.

Deku ignored him and ran away with tears rolling down his face. I just stood there and listened. I mean they weren't wrong.

"Karai time to head back to my house. I'm hungry and Katsuki pissed me off." I said ignoring Kacchan.

"What! What did I do?" Kacchan asked.

"You messed up. This is the first time you have ever snapped at her this way," Karai said walking up to me.

I had fun, well sort of had fun till Deku pissed off Kacchan, I know it's not that hard for someone to do. But it severely pissed me off. I mean he has never snapped at me like that. When I say never, I mean never. Walking home I decided that I was going to train hard. Kacchan said I hit like Deku. So, is he calling me weak? No, He was just trying to get me off my butt. When we made it back to my house we went straight upstairs to change out of our dirty clothes. My dad made hot soba for dinner. It's my favorite. Karai likes it, but her favorite is Katsudon. After dinner, we watched 10 things I hate about you. While watching the movie we heard someone breaking in the back door. I knew it wasn't my dad because he went to bed. Me and Karai ran upstairs to hide. She was faster than me. The villain caught me. I've never seen him before he had black hair, blue eyes, and purple scars. The last thing I saw was him grabbing my head and slamming it on the stairs before I lost consciousness.
