Thanks to Luna Leaf for a super last-minute beta!

Jack sat his empty scotch glass down on the bar and pulled out a generous tip for the bartender. He didn't stop here every night on the way home, but it was often enough that he'd gotten to know Jim, the head bartender. Just as he prepared to stand a woman's hand gently touched his shoulder. He looked over at the glossy nails circling his gold stars.

"These are pretty. Are you a captain or something?"

Jack scoffed. "Or something."

"No really, do you like captain a ship?"

"I'm Air Force not Navy."

Her eyes lit up. "So you fly! Does that mean you can take me up in an airplane?"

"I don't fly much these days."

"Oh." She pouted her lips. "That's ok, I'm sure you still do lots of cool stuff."

"Oh, yeah just tons." Jack smirked. "I hope you have a nice evening."

"You aren't going to buy a lady a drink?"

"I'm afraid my wife would frown on that."

"Oh." Her eyes widened as she started looking around the room. "Is she here with you?"

Jack shook his head. "She works in Nevada."

She looked back at Jack in a way that made him feel like a steak at the butchers. "Long distance relationships can be tough."

"We make it work."

"Do you talk often?"

"We try to talk every night." Jack twisted his wrist at looked at his watch, the fancy one Sam had bought him when he moved the D.C. "Actually, I better get home so I can call her in a few minutes."

She put her hand on his knee and slid it up his thigh. "She probably wouldn't mind if you were a bit late, just long enough for one more drink."

Jack was trying to ignore her beauty but her low-cut dress and cleavage was distracting. The hand on his thigh was also making his head a bit foggy. "Not sure you're right about that."

The woman shrugged. "Well, what she doesn't know won't hurt her."

"She's pretty damn smart. I don't think there's anything she doesn't know."

"This can be the one thing she never finds out." She leaned closer to him and he could smell her perfume. "One drink, that's all."

Jack signaled the bartender. "Two more scotches." Jim gave him a look but grabbed another glass. He'd told Jim about Sam so there was no way to pretend he wasn't in the wrong. Jim gave him one more pointed look as he filled Jack's glass and placed another in front of the beautiful woman. Jack was sure that in addition to wondering why Jack was considering cheating on his wife he was also wondering why a woman this gorgeous was coming on the Jack. Jack had run into his fair share of tag chasers over the years, and he'd enjoyed an evening or two with a few before his first marriage, but he was too old for those kinds of shenanigans now.

Jack gulped his scotch, thinking that was the best way to end things quickly. She however took a small dainty sip, like she didn't appreciate a good scotch. "So, if you don't fly any more what do you do with those shiny gold stars?

"Paperwork, lots and lots of paperwork."

She giggled. Jack forced himself to not roll his eyes. "Important paperwork?"

"Is any paperwork really important?"

She giggled again. "You're funny. I like funny."

"That's me, a real stand-up comedian."

Her eyes widened. "Are you really?"

"No." Jack couldn't help but think at least she's beautiful because damn she's dumb.

"Do you live near here?"

"Just around the corner."

"Oh, nice."

"It is." Jack put his empty glass down. "And I ought to be headed that way." He put his hand out. "It was nice to meet you."

She took his hand but instead of shaking it she pulled it towards her chest, far too close to the cleavage he kept sneaking glances towards. "You wouldn't by any chance be willing to walk a lady out would you? I live close by. I'm sure it wouldn't be too far out of your way."

Jack felt like he was walking into a trap, but his chivalrous streak wouldn't let him turn her down. Her heels certainly wouldn't let her run if she got in trouble and if he read about her being harmed in tomorrow's paper, he'd feel guilty. Jack added some more money to his previous tip.

"I'd be happy to make sure you get home safely." He gave her a tight polite smile, hoping she wouldn't read too much into it. Jim gave him one more pointed look, a warning as well as an admonition, as Jack motioned her towards the door. She stopped when she got to the door, waiting for Jack to open it for her. His hand subconsciously moved to the small of her back as she squeezed by him.

The heels made her ass stick out and she made sure to give it a little wiggle as she walked. He couldn't help but keep looking from the hem of her short black dress to her heels and back up. Her legs were gorgeous and well-toned. She clearly worked out and took pride in her body.

She reached out and grabbed his arm when they got to some uneven pavement. She didn't let go when everything smoothed back out. She actually pulled him a bit closer.

He glanced down at her, although she wasn't much shorter than him in those heels. "How much further?"

"I'm just up here a bit." She gave him a huge smile and batted her eyes. Her red lipstick made her lips look luscious. Without permission his mind jumped to thoughts of sliding his tongue between those lips. He gave his head a slight shake. He had more self-control than this. Even two glasses of scotch shouldn't lower his inhibitions this much.

True to her word she stopped in front of steps leading up to a home on the corner. "This is me." She hooked two fingers into his buttoned jacket and pulled him towards her. "Why don't you come in for one more drink."

Jack grimaced. "Doubt my wife would approve."

She pressed her body against him and moved her hips from side to side, rubbing herself on him. He barely held back his moan. "What she doesn't know can't hurt."

Jack kept his hands in his pockets. "I respect her far too much to ever do anything to erode her trust."

"Ohhhhh, that is an excellent answer. Now are you going to get in here and make love to me or am I going to have to have my way with you out here on the sidewalk."

"Hot damn." Jack leaned forward capturing her lips. His weight destabilized her but he quickly pulled his hands out of his pockets and wrapped his arms around her. He pulled his head back. "You are going to get me in so much trouble."

"I'm worth it." She spun and started up the stairs. She didn't glance over her shoulder. She knew he would follow. His eyes stayed on her ass as she took each step. He only hesitated for a second.

"Totally worth the early flight flyboy." She snuggled a little closer to him.

"How'd you know where to find me?" His hand caressed her back.

"Oh please, you talk more about Jim than you do your job."

"Jim is more interesting than my job." He kissed the top of her head. "Speaking of Jim, we better go back tomorrow and explain you're my wife or he's going to start spitting in my scotch."

Sam snickered. "Maybe you deserve it. I mean it was dang easy to seduce you." She traced designs on his abdomen.

"I spent years not giving in to my desire to do this with you. I never plan to have that much self-control again."

Sam kissed his chest. "Good."

"You are by the way one damn hot mistress."

"Best you'll ever get." She lightly pinched his side. "Ever."

"You are all I want." He gave her a slight squeeze. "You're honestly probably more than I can handle."

"Way more than you can handle."

Jack snorted. "Yes, ma'am."
