Hey guys. So I've recently been watching Arrow again for the second time and I just realised that the writers could've given Felicity such a better storyline with her past. It wasn't something that was spoken about often and even though we got that episode about her and Cooper, I just feel like there could've been more. Anyways, this is just an idea that came to me so I hope you all like it.
The Fic is set at the Clock King episode just before Felicity has gotten shot. It starts off focusing on Felicity's thoughts and feelings leading up to the moment where she takes the bullet for Sara.
Felicity POV:
Sometimes, it really bothered me how overprotective Oliver and John could be when I had to go into the field. I mean, I don't really blame them because when they see me, they just see someone who's helpless and can't protect herself. They don't realise that I'm much more than that. That if I really wanted to I could probably kick both their asses. But I chose this life. I chose to look helpless because if I don't then I remember. And even so, if they ever found out then they'd ask questions. Questions I don't want to answer. I need to forget that life. The old Felicity. She had to die. And if anyone ever found out she was alive then there'd be actual hell to pay.
Oliver told me to get out of here. He seemed mad. I was only at Starling National because I'd wanted to help. I wanted to prove that I was still capable of being part of the team. Sara's return had brought back some old memories. Memories I've done my best to forget over the years. Her return made me question if the choices I'd made back then were right. Seeing her spar with Oliver and Dig, comparing scar stories while I just sat there pretending not to know anything about what that was like. I guess you could say I felt left out. But I just had to push through those feelings and remind myself that it was for the best. Anyways, that's what brought me to this moment. Here at Starling National.
At Starling National:
The Clock King was one Son of a bitch. After he'd installed the virus that fried our computers at the foundry I felt even more useless. The only thing I was able to still show I was good at I was failing at miserably. But I wasn't going to let him get away that easy. Oliver was right. Tockman took the bait that was set out for him. That's when I called Oliver and told him what I was doing. I didn't expect them to arrive so quickly. So when I heard the footsteps coming towards me, I automatically thought it was Tockman and when a figure started moving towards me I immediately reacted and flipped them onto their backs. Imagine my surprise when I saw it was Diggle. He looked at me really confused. I mean why wouldn't he be. Me, Felicity a weak little IT girl just flipped over an ex-military soldier. How shocking could that be? I quickly apologised and blamed it on adrenaline. There are so many stories of people doing impossible;e things when adrenaline kicks in. Luckily, there was no time to ask more questions because Tockman came out and started shooting. Oliver and Dig went to fight him off while I hid underneath the podium. When I realised they'd moved to another room I decided to go and look for Sara. I'm guessing she thought I was Tockman because she nearly flipped me over with her fighting sticks. What she didn't see was Tockman on the other side of the room holding a gun and getting ready to fire it at Sara. I automatically reacted on instinct shouting at Sara to look out. I jumped in the way and the bullet hit me instead however it luckily only grazed my shoulder. It didn't hurt much but I couldn't let her know that. Sara was about to get back up and fight when I had an idea. Tockman started going on about something but I wasn't paying much attention. I was focused on my tablet hoping, praying that my plan would work.
I remember the last thing he said. Tempus Fugit. That was my cue.
"Time flies" I exclaimed and pushed the button on my tablet. Thankfully it worked and the phone in his hand blew up knocking him unconscious.
I gave a huge sigh of relief and looked over at Sara.
" We did it!" She walked over to me and put a hand on my shoulder.
"No, you did" she said and I smiled with gratitude.
Okay, guys, that's chapter 1 done. I know some of you will want to know more about Felicity and her past so I'm going to make sure I do a flashback for the next chapter. The next chapter will start at the Foundry with Sara offering to stitch up Felicity's wound but Felicity acting really weird saying she'll do it herself.
Thanks for reading guys leave some reviews and tell me what you liked about this chapter, what I could improve and lastly, any ideas on what you want to see happen with Felicity's character in future chapters.
I hope you enjoyed Chapter 1! xx
