Shibayama Yuuki and Kuguri Naosayo are not a couple you would have thought likely.

Sure you've heard about it in books, manga, anime, movies and TV shows, but to actually see it happen, well some people would have thought it was cliché.

They thought it was their romance story.

The story between the omega and the alpha started one night when Yuuki had thought it would be a genius idea to go out and buy mochi because he was having some serious cravings. Of course, due to this, he had forgotten some rather, ahem, important things.

For one, he was an omega. A small omega. At night. With no backup with him. He had done goofed.

"Hey, pretty." a much older Alpha whistled. Yuuki kept quiet, thinking that if he ignored them then they would leave him alone. As if.

"Hey don't ignore us now. We just wanna have some." another alpha said, approaching Yuuki, eyes glazed over as if he was drunk. Shit.

"Um, I need to get home sir." forget the mochi, he was going to save his life. Apparently, it seemed that the Alpha's didn't like that if the way they crowded around him and started to chuckle evilly had anything to go by.

"Oh but come on. It won't take long. With a body like that I doubt anyone would last long." he cooed, trying to lay a hand on Yuuki's ass but Yuuki managed to dodge artfully, the feeling of the men surrounding him activating his fight or flight instincts.

"I must really be going. I have school tomorrow." quick tip, never say your age. It'll only make the sick ones want you more. That's what Yuuki slowly started to realise when their smirks turned even more lecherous.

"That's how we like them, isn't that right lads." the men around him jeered and Yuuki started to actually panic. He was going to get raped.

Just as he was about to give up a strong scent of firewood and lemon penetrated the air, calling out to Yuuki, making him relax for some reason.

"He said no. Take the fucking hint and stay the fuck away you creep." a voice growled. When Yuuki turned to who had said it, his breath caught in his throat. Why hello, handsome.

The person who had said it had quite a young face and if Yuuki had to give an estimation he would say around 15 or 16. He had dark ginger hair that was untamed and everywhere with the most gorgeous emerald eyes. He was also tall. Very tall. Yuuki might have drooled if not for the fact that he would be very much mortified and that he was just about going to be raped like 2 seconds ago.

"The fuck are you?" demanded one of the men, voice gruff as he stood in front of Yuuki, now blocking out the handsome stranger. Goddammit.

"His fucking mate." the stranger growled and Yuuki sadly didn't have enough control with his scent to stop his strawberry caramel smell from going stronger at the voice. The rest of the men smelt it and must have thought that the stranger was being serious because they finally parted ways.

"Hey, sorry man. We didn't think that this tight ass was taken." Before the man could even touch him, the stranger had grabbed hold of Yuuki and pulled him flush to his side.

"Me and my boyfriend are going to leave now. Bye." and he sped walked away from them, making sure that Yuuki was still near, leaving the mochi at the store.

When they finally got a safe distance away from the men the man pulled away so he could stare at Yuuki directly and Yuuki didn't feel threatened like he had with those men. He felt safe.

~Kuguri's POV~

When Naosayo had walked into the tiny shop near his house he hadn't expected to smell such an amazing scent that had managed to turn him from his normally bored state into a completely calm state, he even smiled a little! He also hadn't expected to see the owner of such a scent cornered by a bunch of drunk dudes, all of whom were giving out extremely bitter scents. Made sense with how scared the omega was.

When he saw one of the men try to grab at the small omega some instinct kicked in. One so strong it almost knocked him down to his knees. There was a sudden urge to protect this omega that he would only figure it out later.

He spoke before he could stop himself. "He said no. Take the fucking hint and stay the fuck away you creep," he growled, not even realising how authoritative his voice must sound.

When the little omega looked up Naosayo was blown away by the sheer beauty the other was. He could continue staring and would never get tired of staring at such an adorable face. However, said adorable face was currently terrified, but his eyes seemed to say that they trusted him so he took that into account as something good.

"The fuck are you?" demanded one of the men, voice gruff as he stood in front of the cutie. Naosayo swallowed in a sound of annoyance at the man covering the beauty from his sight.

He didn't know what possessed him to say it but he answered 'His fucking mate." he growled, eyes flashing angrily at the alphas.

The omega seemed to have been more than happy with being called his mate if the increases in his strawberry caramel scent were to go by anything. Thankfully, the creeps believed him.

"Hey, sorry man. We didn't think that this tight ass was taken." Kuguri reacted on instinct and quickly grabbed the snake omega away from the man, just in time as well as it had been more than obvious what the man's intentions were.

"Me and my boyfriend are going to leave now. Bye," he said and walked out, groceries and the reason why he was there be damned.

We speed-walked with the omega until he was sure that they were as far away from the men as possible before turning back to the raven and he had to hold back a coo at how adorable and relaxed the little omega was.

"Are you okay?"

~Shibayama's POV~

When the taller alpha had asked him if he was okay it had taken him a couple of minutes to be able to speak. Unfortunately, when he did speak it was to say something that came straight out from Lev's romance films that his fellow omega continuously begged him and Inuoka to watch with him.

"Better now that you're here." he felt his cheeks burn at the corniness and he begged for the earth to swallow him whole. To his surprise, the other teen didn't seem all that bothered by the clinginess. If anything he seemed happy (that's at least what Yuuki thought as the only thing about the man that changed was his eyes.)

"Cute." was all the guy said and Yuuki felt his blush double up. "So what's your name. And I'm not like those things." the man practically spat out the last word in venom and Yuuki felt himself soften.

"It's okay. I know you're not like that. My name is Shibayama Yuuki. I go to Nekoma and I'm going to be the starting Libero next year on the volleyball team." his mother would murder him if she found out he just said all of this to a random alpha but the taller scent was just so relaxing and nice that Yuuki couldn't help but trust him. "And you?"

"I'm Kuguri Naosayo. I go to Nohebi and I'm also on the volleyball team. I'm not a starter but the coach said if I actually bothered I could be." Kuguri rolled his eyes slightly and Yuuki couldn't help but giggle.

"That's nice." it was quiet after that, neither knowing what to say after that.

"Umm, do you want me to walk you home? It's late and I don't want a repeat of what happened there," said Kuguri and Yuuki felt his insides fluttering at the thought that the other teen could be worried about him.

"I-i would like that. A lot." the raven said shyly, ducking his head slightly. He felt his chin being lifted and he was once again looking into green eyes.

"If you actually don't want to, that's fine. I'm not gonna force you." reassured the taller and Yuuki couldn't but swoon inwardly at the words.

"It's fine Kuguri. I know you're not like those men. Now come on! We can't be late!" The random burst of confidence that he so suddenly gained allowed him to capture the other hand and walk with him in the direction of his house.

The walk over to his house was filled with the two exchanging contacts and telling the other a little bit about the other-self. And of course, smelling each other's scent.

"So I know this wasn't exactly the greatest way for us to meet but I enjoyed it," said Yuuki, face once again ducking down to avoid the alphas gaze. They were outside his door and thankfully it seemed that nobody was awake yet.

He felt his chin getting lifted up by those strong fingers and he felt his breath catch when he came face to face with Kuguri's face.

"Don't hide, k Shibayama." and it was a demand that Yuuki was more than happy to comply with.

"O-okay Kuguri. Umm, text me when you get home safely?" stupid, stupid stupid. Was he seriously doubting Kuguri's ability to walk home? Agh.

"Of course. We should meet up some time as well." and was it his imagination or was Kuguri much closer than he was before.

"I-i would like that."

"Great," said Kuguri, pulling away, shooting him a smile. Yuuki finally let go of the breath that he was holding and sent the other team a tentative smile back before unlocking his door and going inside.

Then, he rushed to his room quietly so as not to disturb his mother and collapsed onto his bed.

So not only was he harassed not even 2 hours ago, but he also found an amazingly handsome alpha with an amazing scent who saved him and actually wanted to meet up with him.

He rolled on his bed so that his face was now facing his pillow and screamed.

His life really was turning into a romcom.

"So you want to explain to me why you smell like an alpha?" asked Lev as Yuuki sat down next to him, raising an eyebrow at the small boy.

Yuuki exploded into red, shocking Inuoka and leaving an unimpressed Lev.

"Huh? I can't smell anything!" said Inuoka, shooting them both surprised looks.

"That's because it's not that obvious to an alpha. An omega can smell certain smells that alphas can't." Lev answered the clueless Alpha. "So now, Yuuki. Why do you smell like an Alpha?"

"W-what are you talking about?" he tried to play off but he knew that his effort was futile when Lev just shot him an unimpressed look.

"Yuuki." was all he said before Yuuki finally exploded.

"On Friday night I went out to get some snacks but then I started getting harassed by all these older guys and then this alpha called Kuguri Naosayo from Nohebi saved me and then we began talking and over the weekend we met up again and we kissed and I know I've only known this guy for two days but his scent is so relaxing and makes me feel at home and I fell in love."

He was amazed that he had actually managed to get all that out in one breath.

When he looked at his friends he saw Inuoka tearing up and Lev clapping his hands.

"Okay so a) the alphas who harassed you are assholes and can go and burn but the guy who saved you seems like an absolute sweetheart." began Lev, calming down slightly whilst Inuoka was still tearing up at the thought of his other best friend finding love. "B) The reason why you probably feel so comfortable around him is because your scents are meant for one another, once again proving that at least some of the soulmate theory is correct." continued Lev after passing a tissue to Inuoka. "And c) since this guy is from Nohebi I'm already enjoying the possible drama."

Yuuki shivered at Lev's tone, reminding him of the time that Yaku-San had made the fatal mistake of comparing Lev to another Omega. On one hand, it had made them acknowledge their feelings but on the other hand, it had made Nekoma afraid of ever angering Lev again.

"What drama?" 'speak of the devil and he shall arrive' thought Yuuki as he saw Yaku and the rest of the team join them on the rooftop.

"Just a show I was watching, Mori." lied Lev smoothly as he bent down to kiss the small alpha on the cheek.

"Hmmm. Wouldn't mind watching one of your shows tonight," said Yaku as he nuzzled the tall Omega's neck.

"Oi. Whilst you two are adorable, don't make me barf." teased Kuroo. Yaku shit him a glare full of venom but Lev ignored him in favour of giving his alpha a pocky stick.

"Anyway, Yuuki. All I can is go with your heart. I went with mine and it got me here so I can't complain." advised Lev wisely, ignoring the curious look of his boyfriend.

"Do my kouhai need help!" yelled Yamamoto excitedly.

"No offence Yamamoto-san but I don't think I should be taking advice from somebody who has made themself an utter idiot in front of Karasuno's manager before," said Yuuki politely.

It was quiet before everyone burst into laughter.

"He got you there good, Yamamoto." joked Kuroo, another obnoxious cackle coming out of him.

"Rude!" Yamamoto whined and Yuuki breathed out a sigh of relief. Dodged a bullet.

For the rest of break, everyone joked and jostled. However, Yuuki was in his own little world thinking about what Lev said.

He looked once again back at the omega to see him and Yaku looking at each other with pure, unadulterated love and he couldn't help the pang in his chest. Could he really have that with Kuguri? Guess he would never know until he tried!

He was going to give Lev anything he ever wanted for the rest of his life. That's the least he could do considering it was the half-Russian's genius advice that currently has him making out with Kuguri on his couch, utterly breathless.

When he had confessed to Kuguri how he had felt he had been worried that the taller boy would have judged him for it and rained insults down upon him. Instead, the Nohebi player had blushed a light pink and admitted to feeling the same way but hadn't known if he should say anything, especially after how they had met.

It had all led to this moment and Yuuki couldn't be happier.

"You know," said Kuguri, kissing all over Yuuki's face making the shorter giggle.

"Yeah?"

"We are going to have to tell our teams." Yuuki sat up so quickly he would have made a cheater jealous. "Ow!" cried out Kuguri as he held his nose in both hands.

"Sorry!" yelped Yuuki, shorting up so he could go and grab some tissues from the coffee table.

It was quiet for a moment as Kuguri tried to stop the bleeding from his nose and Yuuki worried silently beside him before Kuguri finally spoke.

"So….guess telling our teams is a no-no?"

"Two of my teammates already know about you." Yuuki but his lips before continuing. "And it's not that I don't want to tell them it's just I'm afraid of their reaction. You know about their annoying rivalry," whined Yuuki as he pouted auo at his boyfriend who chuckled.

"Yeah, I can understand that. But you do realise that I'm not exactly the patient type when it comes to things I love. And I love you." he whispered the last part but Yuuki heard him all the same

"And I love you two."

The two looked at each other, love shining in their eyes, unbelieving that they had found the perfect person.

"You know there's a practice match between Nekoma and Nohebi this week, right?"

"There is?" nobody had told Naosayo about that!

"Yes. Do you pay attention when your captains talk to you?"

"Sometimes." Kuguri laid his head on Yuuki's lap, ignoring the incredulous look that was sent towards him.

"Anyway. We can reveal our status then. We'll have Lev and Inuoka on our sides which immediately means that Yaku-San is also on our side."

"How come?"

"I have never seen an alpha more whipped for Lev than Yaku-San is. If Lev so much as bats his eyelashes at him the man will be on his hands and knees ready to serve." scoffed Yuuki, remembering moments when Yaku had been trying to court Lev and Lev had made it as hard as humanly possible. He still shivers at the time Lev dared Yaku to call coach Naoi old.

"Well at least we get one of your upperclassmen approval," said Kuguri, making himself comfortable. Yuuki just hummed, raking a finger through the taller hair.

"What about your team? Anyone, I need to worry about?"

"Nah. If anything I'm more worried about myself."

"How come?" didn't his team care for him.

"You're fucking adorable and you make me soft as fuck. They are going to bully me." moaned out Kuguri in overdramatic despair.

"Haha!" Yuuki laughed, missing the utter look of love he was given.

"I hate all snakes and cats with the exception of you." moaned out Kuguri as he flopped onto Yuuki's bed.

"Oh come on, it wasn't that bad." Shibayama tried to pacify his baby of a boyfriend but it was a fruitless attempt when all the ginger did was move his arms into a gesture demanding Yuuki to get into his arms.

When Yuuki settled into his boyfriend's arms the taller began complaining. Again.

"I don't know what your definition of bad is, honey, but my definition of bad is when you suddenly get surrounded by all your teammates making gooey eyes at your boyfriend, whilst also being glared at by your boyfriend's teammates and being given the sex talk. By your coaches."

Yuuki giggled all the way up till the last one, remembering the sheer humiliation of being given that talk, nevermind the coaches had tried to be mindful and use biological terms to describe an omegas body. It had been hands down one of the worst experiences in his life.

"I mean, look on the brighter side, at least now when we tell our parents we're already given the talk so we don't both have to go through the utter humiliation of that," said Yuuki, always the smiling sunshine that Kuguri needs.

It was only after a few seconds did they realise what the omega had said.

"SHIT! WE NEED TO TELL OUR PARENTS!"

~10 YEARS LATER~

Kuguri and Shibayama's relationship had only gone up after they graduated from high school.

Now both 25 and with jobs of their own, Naosayo is finally ready to tie the final knot in their relationship. He was going to propose to Yuuki.

Now, this was not as easy as it seemed.

His friends had suggested that he propose to the omega over a candlelight dinner but Lev's glare had put an instant stop to that.

Lev had told him that despite the fact that Yuuki loved him with all his heart, there would always be a part wanting a unique engagement.

Kuguri had spent many months trying to figure out the perfect proposal. The aloha had even suggested proposing whilst swimming with sharks.

A single raised eyebrow had stopped that train of flow instantly. He would actually like to marry his boyfriend alive and not his dead corpse.

He had then had an idea that had amazed even Lev. He had taken Yuuki's love for jigsaws and the idea had sprouted from there.

The ring he had gotten was a white band with a ruby in the middle with little emeralds surrounding it. It had amazed even Lev who was quite happy with the ring his husband had gotten him.

When he had suggested playing a jigsaw puzzle, his boyfriend hadn't thought anything of it. He hadn't even looked twice when he asked about the image and Naosayo just replied that it was a surprise.

They had settled down on the floor, Yuuki looked like a child in a candy shop, and had begun the construction of the jigsaw puzzle. It had taken almost an hour, what with Kuguri taking a 'Will you marry me set' that had way too many pieces. But his adorable boyfriend was determined if the increase in his sweet smell was anything to go by.

"You know Naosayo." his boyfriend said, looking at the puzzle with a knowing gleam in his eyes. "I think I might know what this puzzle is."

"How about you put the last one in kitty and we'll see if you're right." Naosayo had purposely added the nickname at the end knowing it would distract his boyfriend and low and behold he was correct when his boyfriend blushed bright red and went back to the puzzle.

At the same time Naosayo's hand moved to his back pocket and took out the ring that was in it and he took a deep breath.

"Okay, so the puzzle says-"

"Will you marry me?"

Time stopped as Yuuki turned around and stared at his boyfriend who had changed from laying down to being on one knee, hands holding the most beautiful ring he had ever seen.

His answer was instant. "YES!!!"

He threw himself at his boyfriend and the two were engaged in a passionate lip-lock. Naosayo moved his hands so they were at the back of his husband's thighs and carried him up.

"Come in, pretty. Let's celebrate our engagement."

The next day Yuuki had to tell his friends soft-spokenly and in bed about the engagement whilst his boyfriend was surrounded by teasing friends.
