"Possible, ninety six." Barkin said while handing back the pre calc papers.
"Good job KP, I'm proud of you." Ron softly rose his hand to her cheek then brought her to him, pecking her lips. Barkin rolled his eyes but he had long since stopped trying to stop them from showing public displays of affection. Ron actually showing he wasn't a slacker helped his perception a lot though.
"Rockwaller, seventy eight. Good effort. I know this isn't exactly your best subject so you probably studied hard."
Bonnie fluttered her eyes and smiled. "Since you know I studied so hard, is there any chance of you curving the grade this time?"
"I have to admit Rockwaller, that was pretty cute so you actually had a chance of getting me to curve it. The only problem is if I curved it you would actually lose ten percentage points."
"What!?"
"Stoppable got all the bonus questions right. So his test was one hundred and ten percent."
"Good job Ron, I'm proud of you." Kim parroted before giving him a peck herself.
"That's not fair! We all know you only put those advanced calculus bonus questions on the test so you can say you give extra credit!"
Barkin shrugged and continued giving out graded papers. It's not his fault that someone capable of making most geniuses look normal was dropped in his class.
Bonnie groaned as she watched Ron wrapping his arms around Kim's waist in his latest attempt to fuse into her skin, and Kim was enjoying it as usual. "Ugh, will you two get a room!?"
"What's the matter Bonnie? Mad that you don't have anyone to feel up now that Brick went to state?"
"Yea bonbon, don't be jealous just because I'm showing some love for my fiance." Ron said before nuzzling into Kim's hair.
Kim wanted to have a staredown with Bonnie but Ron was just too goofy and kept her too happy. It seemed like her inability to even maintain an aggressive glare made her even more salty. Surprisingly to Kim not much changed once she forced Ron to act like himself. Despite all his power handling every single mission by himself or separate missions would be inconvenient so she still did her thing. She was still one of the smartest people in school, and she was still cheer captain. The only difference was that a lot of the guys gave Ron, and by extension her, a wide berth. Especially his old bullies once they realized he wasn't joking when he said he could probably knock them out just by looking at them funny. Speaking of the usual...Drakken soon burst through the door to their class.
"KIMBERLY ANN-" Ron had him on his knees before he could even get out his last word, the weird part was Ron never actually left his seat. He just glared at Drakken with his glowing cerulean blue eyes. The amount they were glowing showing just how pissed he was.
"You do not interrupt Kim when she's in class. School is important to her. If anything just get your machine ready and we will come to you to defeat you within the hour."
"I...can….explain."
"What's there to explain? That you interrupted her second to last class of the day just for some stupid scheme? Why shouldn't I just break your legs so you can't interrupt her for a while?" Ron glared a bit harder which caused Drakken to tense up even more.
Kim looked around and saw that the rest of the students were tense. Sometimes Ron was simply unaware of just how powerful he was. His energy was very dense and if you weren't adjusted to it it could feel quite heavy even when he wasn't trying to focus on you or hurt you. She decided it best to calm him down. He wasn't really thinking of breaking Drakken's legs, but roughing him up wasn't out of the question and Drakken probably had a decent reason to come here. She hoped for his sake anyway.
Kim turned to the side in his lap and draped her arms around his neck to steady herself. "Calm down. He knows how strong you are. He wouldn't be stupid enough to annoy you without a good reason. Right Drakken?"
"Right." Drakken squeaked out. Ron dropped his Ki and there was a collective sigh of relief in the classroom. Drakken was released and fell to his knees while holding his chest and breathing heavily.
"Leave it to Kim Possible to date the walking nuke." Bonnie thought to herself.
"Why are you here Drakken, didn't we already foil your schemes like two times this month already?"
Drakken stood and dusted himself off. "Yes yes your victories. A scheme is however not why I'm here."
Ron rolled his eyes. "What, you got even more dangerous aliens to come here and need help beating them?"
"Actually, you two are my greatest foes, and you are getting married in two months, correct?"
"Of course they are, the whole town knows that you idiot." Bonnie said.
Drakken rolled his eyes at the pretentious girl. He then reached for the pocket inside of his lab coat and produced a folded sheet of paper. He walked up and put it on the desk then slid it towards the couple. "Meet me here right after cla-" He shifted his words given how unhappy Stoppable looked. Demands were probably not the way to go. "Meet me at you convenience later today." He said with a nervous grin.
"No tricks." Ron said, emphasizing his words by placing just a bit of weight on Drakken's shoulders with his mind.
"Of course." He said with a nervous laugh. Hoping he was making the correct decision inviting them to his lair.
When Kim and Ron entered the lair they noticed the device instantly. Kim prepared to dodge and Ron engulfed his fist in a flame, preparing to fire it off at the machine before Drakken had the chance to perform his stupid scheme. Drakken rushed out pleading for him to wait.
"This device took months to build!"
Ron squinted. "I don't see how that's my problem."
"It's part of your present!"
Ron toned his energy down some but kept his fist at the ready. "Explain."
"I just thought with her being able to hear your thoughts, you would want to be able to hear hers." Kim's eyes widened and Ron dropped his fist completely.
"Wasn't it functioning incorrectly last time?"
"Trust me. It works." Their heads whirled around to Shego looking as disinterested as ever while watching their conversation.
"How do you know it works? Did you try it on some rats or something and read some EEGs?"
"You would think that Kimmie, but no." Shego said while tilting back in her chair. "This stupid genius had another idea.
"What did he…." Shego stood up and interrupted Kim's question
"Stop it! How is this hot!?" Shego's cheeks were the deepest green they could possibly be.
"Shego you know how you look when you're angry...I can't control my thoughts."
"Aaaaaargh." She said storming off.
Kim looked at Drakken, eyes wide. "You didn't."
"I thought I was closer to finding a way to shut it off at will than I actually was. She seems less angry these days so, good and bad?" He said with his weasely smile.
"You're playing with fire dude."
"The fires of Passion young Stoppable!"
"What?"
"What?" Drakken replied back. Trying to confuse Stoppable. "So, how would you like to even the playing field between you and your dearest Possible?"
"KP?"
"Ron, I should be the last person you should be asking given how long I took to tell you about it." Kim draped herself around his arm, knowing it would quell any remaining doubts he had. "But personally, I think it would be nice."
He was putty, and she knew it. "That's surprisingly thoughtful Drakken. Thanks. What do we need to do?"
Kim and Ron were laying in bed, and drool forming at the side of her mouth. If she was awake she would have noticed that they were enveloped in what could only be called a light blue egg and levitating, but alas. If she tossed slightly the egg seemed to contour to her body to prevent her from falling or feeling uncomfortable.
Ron was dreaming about what Kim would look like on their wedding day and unknowingly smiling. Kim on the other hand in her dream was laying in a void of pitch black, but she felt safe and secure. A small part of her was aware that she must be dreaming. As with most people she didn't really think about it too hard while it was happening.
"Kim." A femine voice said, it seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere within the void.
She felt herself floating in the void and looked around, but saw nothing. "Who is it?"
"Come to me."
"Ron?"
"Come to me, to save him."
"Come to who? Who are you?"
"I am you."
Kim sat up in bed breathing heavily in a cold sweat. Was that real? How could she come to herself? Was it just some subconscious message saying she needed therapy?
While these things were racing through her mind Ron came in with a plate of bacon, eggs, and a potato patty for her. He quickly set it down as soon as he saw her face. When he raised her chin her eyes were a little vacant and disoriented.
"Kim!?"
Kim snapped out of it quickly and gave him a peck. "It's alright, I'm fine baby." She could feel that it calmed him down slightly but he was still on alert. If people thought she had been protective of him over the years they wouldn't believe this. He was kind of like a doberman protecting the baby a family just brought home from the hospital.
Ron placed the back of his hand on her forehead. She felt a little cold but that might have just been the sweat. "What's wrong? Are you sick? Did you need me to get you anything? Want me to hold you to warm you up? Did you want a quilt?"
Kim giggled. He was so sweet. All those brains and he was still goofy. "Really Ron, I'm fine. I just had a nightmare."
Ron knew she might be bullshitting. She was Kim Possible after all. She wouldn't want to appear weak. From what she told him all he had to do was focus a little and any surface or even slightly buried thought would come to the surface. He stared at her intently.
'shit' Kim thought to herself. She knew that look. He was worried about her. Which meant he wasn't satisfied with the answer that she gave him. Which gave him a pretty good reason to wonder what she was really think. Maybe she could trick him? No, she doubted it. She resigned herself to the lecture he was about to give her about trusting him, and the fact that he might try to find a way to disconnect their mind link if he even got a hint that his powers were messing with her. Which was a pretty good possibility given that she never had a dream like that before.
He focused on her as deeply as he could, but only one thought popped up as he stare into her big green orbs. 'He's so sweet. I love him. I never want to be apart again.'
With that he was settled and a smile crossed him face. He gave her the biggest hug he could while he buried himself in her hair. "I love you too KP. These have been the happiest months of my life."
Kim was…..confused to say the least, but took it anyway. Her head cocked during the hug when she felt one very, very strong thought banging in the back of her head. 'STAY HOME!'
Alright alright, whatever it was she wasn't going to be able to focus in school anyway. "Ron I'm going to take a mental health day. Do you think you'll be able to spend eight hours without me?"
"I don't know Kim, are you sure you don't need me to…."
Kim made herself just a little bit smaller, and lowered her head so her eyes looked bigger, then began her famous puppy dog pout.
Ron stood up and waved his arms in exasperation. "Fine Kim, you know you don't have to do that. Jeez. You know how unfair it is to use that on me."
'I need power.' inner Kim said
'NO!'
'Just a little.'
Ron looked at Kim quizzically, he could swear it almost looked like she was berating herself. She wasn't talking and he couldn't hear it, so it must not have been important. The second he turned around Kim called for him.
"Ron, can I have just a little of your energy so I can feel like I'm with you throughout the day?"
Ron found that weird. She wanted him to go to school, but she wanted some of his energy so she didn't feel alone. He looked at her again. Hard. Her body language was nervous but when he scanned her mind all he could hear was 'I hope he doesn't say no' and 'I love him.'
With a defeated sigh he put his hands in front of his core and pulled out a small fraction of his ki. He wouldn't miss it, he might even replenish more than that from another meal. Plus he didn't want to give her so much that it hurt her.
"Don't move Kim."
Kim noticed how stern his tone was and did as commanded. Ron put the energy right into her sternum. It was weird watching a blue ball of light just slip into her body of its own accord. Her eyes glowed blue for a split second. She felt potent. Like she did when she was excited for a mission, but even moreso.
"How much was that?"
"Just a little bit. I won't miss it. Trust me. Is it too much?"
She had no idea how on earth he walked around with all that power inside him. The nonchalant way he spoke about it meant that it was an infinitesimal amount of his power, yet she doubted she could handle much more. He really was impressive.
"It's amazing Ron. It feels like you're inside me." Her voice became husky. "And I would know after last night."
"O-okay Kim. I-I'm going to head out. Call me if anything goes wrong, or I'm never letting you out of my sight again."
"Not much of a threat." She said with another giggle.
"L-love you KP." He said before grabbing his bookbag and running out the front door, despite the fact he would probably have to spend thirty more minutes at Bueno Nacho than usual, he felt like if he stayed any longer she would give him a heart attack.
Kim shook her head and ate her breakfast. Technically she was the most powerful being in the world, since she and she alone could turn the most powerful being into a stuttering nervous mess with one sentence. After she finished eating she carried the tray to the kitchen and sat on the couch. Did she imagine that? Was Ron's MMP really messing with her?
'Don't be scared'
There it was again! That's it, she had to call wade. She hopped on her computer and waited for it to load up. Hopefully it was only take a minute or two. Aside from the weird voice she was pretty happy today, as she was with her life. After she explained to her father how monstrously powerful, protective and loyal Ron was, he seemed more than happy to let them live together. He said something about being happy I found someone more protective than he was. They didn't get a mansion, but it was still bigger than both of their old houses combined. Ron pointed out to Betty that all she had to do was list them as contractors, and give them a generous stipend and they would keep doing what they were doing well into adulthood. Crime fighting doesn't exactly pay bills by itself. If they decided to continue their education and work they would probably have to hang it up. Which would cost GJ far more in terms of finding the teams of agents needed to replace them.
She'll never forget the face Betty had when she said "I knew there was something to that Ron factor. Well played." He correctly assumed that Global Justice needed them far more than they needed them.
She heard the chime as her computer came on and called Wade. Strangely when he answered he seemed to be curling some iron. "What are you doing?"
"Can't a guy lift weights?"
"I'm pretty sure it's not a crime, you're just usually…"
"Drinking a soda and watching a cartoon?" Kim's uncomfortable smile let him know he was right on the mark. "I just wanted to become my best self for someone."
"That someone being named Monique? That's sweet and all but didn't she say you were a little young?"
"Trust me, I remember Kim. I won't be fourteen forever though and it takes years to build up muscle."
"Whatever you say lover boy." She teased.
"Says the girl getting married straight out of high school."
Kim laughed and let that slide, it was a good one after all. "We both know I didn't call just to chit chat. Would you mind running a scan on me again?"
"Alright, let me get your Kimmunicator."
"What?"
She knew what he meant soon enough when the little thing flew in front of her face and started scanning her. "Why would you even think of this situation?"
"I got tired of it getting lost on missions and needing to build new ones. Anyway, it looks like Drakken was on the up and up. You're only sending and accepting one signal. Your biometrics are fine as well. Was something wrong Kim? Is that why you're not at school?"
Kim rolled her eyes. It was sweet and annoying how everyone was so concerned about her. "No Wade, I'm fine. Just needed a mental health day. Thanks for asking."
"Alright, later Kim. Let me know if you need anything else."
As soon as the call went off she went into deep thought again. Alright. Drakken didn't do anything to her. The last seemed to be working fine on Shego and Ron so she doubted the voice was because of that. Maybe her family has a history of schizophrenia that she was unaware of.
'I AM REAL'
Kim clutched her head. Okay, best not to call the voice schizophrenia again. That almost hurt, and it was fucking loud.
'Focus on his energy. Come to me.'
"This is major sketch, maybe I should tell Ron, this might be a mystical thing he can fix."
'No! Please! He does not remember me! He may kill me!'
This time the voice wasn't loud. It almost sounded….desperate. She felt the fear it felt. Strange. "Give me one good reason I should trust the voice randomly talking in my head?"
'Trust me. Trust yourself.'
Kim rolled her eyes and got changed out of her nightgown and into her mission clothes. She wasn't sure if she would have to punch a villain in the face if this was a trick. Although as soon as she stepped outside she thought about the obvious issues with this. She had no idea where she was going, how far it was, what vehicle she would need, etc.
'Grab a horse. I am near.'
Alright. At least it's telling her where to go, even if it's obviously old as hell since it doesn't know what a car is.
'Hey! I can still hear you!'
Kim rolled her eyes and got in her car. "Where am I going?" She said to the air, knowing an answer would come.
'Focus on his energy, and you will know.'
Kim waited, but figured that was about as good of an answer as she was going to get after about a minute. She gripped the steering wheel hard and closed her eyes. Focusing on the area where Ron gave her some of his ki. She didn't feel it immediately, but after a bit she began to feel it's warmth, and the tendrils stretching and reaching as if they were alive. She could almost feel where to go.
The feeling lead her to a warehouse on the edge of town. She knew this one. It was where Global Justice stored "undefined" items. It was heavily guarded. In days past she would have had wade hack into their security cameras so she could determine their pattern, then snuck in. Thankfully that was no longer needed. She called Betty on her Kimmunicator.
"Yes Miss Possible? Calling to hustle me for higher wages in your contract? I thought we were very generous. The sign up bonus alone..."
Kim chuckled. "No Dr. Betty Director. I'm following a lead and need access to warehouse J seven to find an artifact."
"Do you need to take it out to protect it? I can assure you it is very secure. Not even you could penetrate that warehouse."
'Just a touch.'
"While I would love to prove you wrong on that, I just need to hold the object to look at it. I'll know it when I see it."
Betty didn't bother pushing for more details. Whatever Miss Possible was up to she was sure it was important. She hasn't failed her yet.
Kim hung up the call and passed all three security checkpoints. They didn't bother taking her belt as she didn't have any weapons, ad everyone present knew that the real weapon was her fists.
She walked around the storage room and with each isle felt as if she was drawing nearer to her fate. The place was massive. It almost reminded her of that Indiana Jones movie Ron made her watch. She saw a box vibrating down they way. Thankfully it was eye level so she pulled it off and set in on the ground.
The sheet on top read: "Dud. Strange energy signature but insignificant. No historical importance."
'Ouch' Inner Kim said. 'Open it and accept me.'
"Will the voice stop then?"
'We will be one.'
Kim took that to mean yes, hopefully anyway. It was kind of annoying getting yelled at by herself. She opened the box and saw a simple stone good luck waving cat statue. The kind you might see at a Sushi restaurant. What was she supposed to do with this? She picked it up with both hands and looked it in the eye. This was it. She peeled off the simple paper that was on it, it was old and faded. Ithe cat was calling her. They eyes on the statue glowed red and she felt something shoot into her body. The statue crumpled in her hands and turned to dust. Soon she fainted, her slightly open eyes had narrow catlike slits.
They were finally one.
Finally done with the first part of the sequel. I spent the last two days writing this so I hope you all enjoy it and find the premise intriguing.
