A daughter of the water

A son of the sun

One leading destiny

One living shunned

0

War raging forth

In all corners of the earth

Only the innocent able

To partake in true mirth

0

She leads the world's hope

Teaching art along the way

He chases a boy

Living life alone, so far astray

0

Changes in character

Growth in places unseen

Evil blossoms good

Whatever that could mean

0

Save her from the pirates

He won't hurt you

A glimpse in the eyes

Did the other see it too?

0

She's with the Avatar

Isn't that right?

He with a noble's daughter

How their conflicted feelings fight

0

They are supposed to be with their chosen

Living not of their own accord

But oh how this desire festers

It's very presence like a reward

0

Ba Sing Se

A tea shop in the lower ring

"Let's explore," she says to her blind friend,

"Who knows what it might bring?"

0

A stop in her tracks

No, it can't be

That unruly eye

The one that can scare see

0

He serves per usual

Earning his wage

Not paying notice

To the customers his uncle does engage

0

"Welcome to the Jasmine Dragon!"

His uncle, no doubt

Her friend is ecstatic

Pure joy as he leads them throughout

0

That voice, so familiar

No, it can't be

His blue0eyed desire

So close, so free

0

He's looking

Will she return the favor?

And gaze into those golden orbs

Of which belonged to her former savior

0

"Nephew, serve these ladies."

He walks over, eyes down this time

Just missing hers longing for his,

Full of sublime

0

He serves

Then leaves

She drinks

Then grieves

0

They leave a tip

Walk out the door

She drags her feet

Feeling heavier than before

0

He watches her go

Sadness tugging at his heart

Replaying that day

Of which they did part

0

She and her friend

Go back home

Feeling lost more than ever

And oh so alone

0

Crossroads of Destiny

Something has changed

What is this feeling?

Has this moment always been prearranged?

0

They stand alone

Gazing into the other's eyes

Full of yearning

They both try to be deny

0

She wants him

So badly it hurts

He sees her as an equal

But he's not a convert

0

Her "lover" is nice

Sweet, kind, and innocent

The boy loves her so

And thinks her magnificent

0

So why doesn't she reciprocate?

Why does the scarred man in front of her

Remain forever in her mind?

Making her question what they were

0

His broken face

So beautiful to her lenses

His ambition

Pushing past her defenses

0

She knows it's wrong

He's the enemy, right?

Then why, oh why

Does he seem so bright?

0

He's not like the others

That much she knows

Their hearts both beat

Louder than the caw of crows

0

But she won't say anything

No matter how her heart sways

It's not like the prince

Could feel the same about her, anyway

0

He drowns in the blue

So evident in her eyes

They make him feel

More alive than the sunrise

0

She's passionate

And powerful

But his chasing

Is oh so hurtful

0

She's touching his face

Like no one has before

Speaking with such grace

He wants more

0

She's cool

Like the ocean

And always moves

With such fluid motion

0

He's a banished prince

She ought to deserve better

But she's been stuck in his mind

Ever since he met her

0

No one makes him feel

The way she does

Now they're all alone

Iis this love?

0

She can't feel the same

Not with the Avatar around

So he'll keep quiet

Crying for her on the ground

0

A crash in the wall

Prince, make a choice

He chooses corruption

How harsh the once0gentle voice

0

Drifting apart

In location and mind

Both confused

Of what they did find

0

He gazes at the opening

Of which his better half did leave

His heart now in half

Already beginning to grieve

0

She returns to her friends

Her heart giving up

Willing tears not to fall

Emotions overwhelming her like a dying seal pup

0

Future encounters

Cut deeper into their soul

But they plaster a smile

Feeling like coal

0

0

0

The war is over

Everyone's relieved

What happens now?

With the love their hearts both believe

0

A small celebration

For the heroes of the war

Set in the fire palace

All of them happy with what they fought for

0

The Avatar asks

For a moment alone

She follows obligingly

Giving her joy as a loan

0

On her way out to the terrace

She sneaks a glance

He's looking too

She tells herself it was happenstance

0

The Avatar is grinning

After a stolen kiss

She attempts a smile

Not at all feeling bliss

0

She'll pretend though

For the savior of the nations

Living her life

As the Avatar's salvation

0

She walks back inside

Insisting they should be with everyone

It's all too much for her

But she'll never stop being done

0

He watched her leave

Wondering why she looked his way

When his girlfriend came near

Putting a rare smile on display

0

The knife0wielder pulls him into a room

Capturing him in an embrace

He returns it as best he can

Feeling oh so out of place

0

But the serene girl has been good to him

So he whispers kind words

Thankful for the hug

So there's no sight of his shed tear

0

The feelings have been evident

Since they were little

But how can he break his girlfriend's heart?

When his own is so brittle

0

"Let's head back," he insists

His girlfriend doesn't argue

He walks back to everyone

His own little crew

0

A toast is raised

He fights to not look her way

She raises her glass

Willing her eyes to stay

0

The Avatar smiles at her once again

His girlfriend gives a quirk of an eyebrow

They return the affection as well as possible

Too tired to do anything else now

0

Time passes

Everyone goes to bed

She's in a room with the asleep Avatar

Thoughts swirling around her head

0

He sits on the left

His girlfriend asleep on the right

Not able to close his eyes

With his affection bound so tight

0

They both wonder

What this feeling is called

That lights their souls on fire

That makes them so enthralled

0

But how do you do that?

How does one tell another

That every interaction feels more valuable

Than time with thy own mother?

0

He thinks of the Avatar

The "savior" of humanity

The little boy

Stealing his sanity

0

She thinks of his girlfriend

A turned knife0wielder

The indifferent woman,

Her heart's stealer

0

They won't tell anyone

For fear of the worst

Both too committed

Of putting others first

0

And so they lived

Forever part broken

All thanks due

To the words unspoken
