Raznus has been working for peace between the Tribes for over half his life and it seems the Danian Queen might be willing to sign a treaty with the Overworld. Or at least that is what Lore the Danian High Muge was telling him at this moment.
"When am I to meet with her Highness?" Raznus asked. They were in Raznus's office. Not his office back in Kiru City, but the office in the Overworld Embassy at Mount Pillar.
"Soon. Be ready to leave at any moment. I will come back for you when the Queen is ready." Lore informed him then left without saying anything more. Raznus has grown used to Danians leaving without saying a farewell so it didn't bother him.
What does bother him is the waiting.
From past experience with the Queen, he knows he might be waiting for as little as a few minutes to as long as several days. He could be doing some paper work, cleaning his office, tending to his oah and jij plants, or any other number of small tasks. But since he had no why of knowing how long it would be he didn't want to start working on something and then be rushed off to meet the Queen. One of the few things he hates is leaving a job left unfinished.
He waited for an hour, then caves into his desire to be productive.
Taking a watering can, he walks over to the plants and checks the dampness of the soil. Most are fine, but a few need some water.
Having something simple to do helps calm his nerves and the tight knot in his stomach begins to loosen slightly.
Half way through his task, his neck starts to ache. Nothing unusual, but for some reason he doesn't try to scratch or rub the feeling away.
His neck still had the odd aching feeling a few minutes later when Lore came to retrieve him for the meeting.
"You are certain he will not turn until the time is right?" Lore asked.
"Yes Sir" Dubin answered. Like Lore, Dubin was one of the few Danians who walked on only two feet. They also shared a somewhat similar wardrobe since both preferred to have a cloak. Besides those things, the two did not look the same. Dubin's crimson exoskeleton was in stark contrast to Lore's gray brown shell.
"Good. See to it that he will be obedient to the Queen." With that last command, Lore left the Danian Controller so he can continue his mugic research. Unlike other Daninas in on the plan, Lore was not confidant that Raznus would be able to kill Maxxor, but at least he could turn out to be a great asset to the Queen.
He would also get to talk to Raznus more often and be able to discus certain things he could not share with Raznus before. That was something he was looking forward to.
