A/N: This is my first attempt at a JAG Fanfiction. A few things first: So in this FF, Lt Singer survives and Harm was never Courts Martialed for her murder. This story starts in 2000 and will have all your favourites from that time of the show including Brumby. Whoever Harm ends up with will be. How does that sound?
Oh also my OC is the cousin of Brumy, but is the Anti-Brumby, Kind, quiet and a bit reserved.
Anyways on with the show.
Terms:
VOQ: Visiting Officers Quarters
Button: In F-14 and F/A-18's the radio has pre-programmed frequencies on various buttons, the frequencies change with the rotor.
FLCP: Field Carrier Landing Practice. Basically, they have a painted carrier deck on a runway and aircraft practice their landings on it.
NAS Oceana
1530 EDT/1130 Zulu
"Feet Dry, one last time." The flight lead called out as the squadron of Tomcats(B model) flew over the beach near NAS Oceana. Knowing that this was the last time that he would be flying full time, Harm looked into his mirror, seeing Skates smiling back at him, he chuckled. He had his dad's callsign from 'Nam and one of his good friends sitting in his backseat. "Squadron go button 1." The CO said over the radio. "Oceana tower, this is Badman, feet dry and ready to come home." The tower in their ususa cool voice came up as always. "Badman wing, Oceana, clear full stop and taxi to parking area, welcome home." Harm chuckled a bit as he fell into the parade formation for the overhead break. As the squadron was touching down, a new voice came up over the radio. "Oceana tower this is Nighthawk 105, Forex pilot, single ship hornet with you." Harm was surprised, he had never heard of Nighthawk before. Perhaps it was one of those "Other Government Agency" Planes. Though the voice was definitely not from the US. "105, stand by, establish overhead orbit and await clearance, we have the Patrick Henry Air Wing returning from Deployment." "Roger tower, established orbit, 15 miles out, angels 10."
Feeling the engines of the Tomcat shutdown and observing the rest of the wing returning, he knew it was good to be home. However seeing a single hornet land after the final aircraft of the wing, he was surprised, it was not any OGA's aircraft nor was it from Australia. Taking a closer look, it had a bird on its tail and the roundial on it's side had a maple leaf rather than a Kangaroo or the USAF/USN Roundial. Seeing it taxi over, he saw that the pilot had the same kind of rank as Bugme a LCdr. Though that couldn't be right. He decided to walk over to the other pilot, as the ground crew were saluting him and taking his plane off of his hands. The first thing he saw was the pilot saluted for two seconds before lowering it compared to the US military, odd, he thought. "Helluva landing, Though I must admit that I've never seen this ride south of the border. What is that, can't be a hornet." The new commander just looked at him, slightly confused, though a smile graced his face. "Indeed it is, though it's an older model hornet. It's an Alpha plus. Oh by the way, I'm Lieutenant Commander Fairchild, Royal Canadian Navy." The new commander offered his hand, still in flight gear. "Harmon Rabb, US Navy. Sorry if I seem tired, just got back from deployment. Come on with me, I'll show you where you can change." Nodding, the Canadian commander went over to his jet and grabbed his luggage out of the pod on the wing. Hefting it onto his shoulder, he chuckled to himself, why couldn't he always pack light. He also extracted his suit bag that had his Uniforms in it. "Lead the way Commander."
A few days later, Naval Station Norfolk.
Dealing with the Nelson Courts Martial was brutal, Harm thought to himself as he walked towards the O club for lunch. "Why is everyone so damned stubborn?" He mumbled to himself as he entered. Spotting the bar, he walked over to it, ordering his lunch and a glass of mineral water. However just as he was sitting down, a familiar voice spoke up. "Mind if I join you commander?" He turned around to see the Canadian officer from the day before. Gesturing to the seat, he looked at the Canadian officer, there was something about him, though he didn't know what. "Of course, How's day 2 of being in the states?" He asked the newcomer. "Oh you know how it is. Paperwork, Inprocessing, Briefings. Though I admit I am rather excited, I'm going to be training to fly off boats, the first Canadian to do so in like 20 years." He chuckled a bit. He wondered where the officer would be staying, perhaps the VOQ. "Well, I suppose that with being fully trained, I just have to do FCLP's and CQ before I can go on deployment. Though I did agree to meet a cousin in DC before any of that, I suppose you would know him, given from what I remember, your being a lawyer, he is too." Oh god, though Harm, could he be related to the Admiral. That wouldn't be so bad, he seemed nice enough. If he was related to Bud, he wouldn't mind that either. Bud and Harrier were practically family to him at this point, neither would him being Mac's cousin, even if they were on the outs. Oh God help him, if he was related to Bugme he thought, though he seemed the opposite. "Well Commander, I wish you luck with your training, and if your cousin is at JAG HQ feel free to pop in." Standing up after finishing his meal, he made plans to drive back to DC.
Chapter end.
