MIKAELA2015 PRESENTS….
THE SWORD IN THE STONE (DANNY PHANTOM STYLE)
An old book opened, revealing an old legend told throughout the ages. A story about a legendary sword.
A legend is sung
Of when England was young
And knights were brave and bold
The good king had died
And no-one could decide
Who was rightful heir to the throne?
It seemed that the land would be torn by war
Or saved by a miracle alone
And that miracle appeared in London town
The sword in the stone
The book turned to a page which showed a beautiful green bladed sword, appearing in the middle of London. Sitting in the stone where everyone could see. And below the hilt of the sword, in letters of gold, were written these words:
Who so pulleth out this sword of this stone and anvil, is right wise king born of England.
Though many had tried to pull the sword out with all their strength, none could move nor stir it. So the miracle didn't work and England was still without a king and in time, the marvellous sword was forgotten. This was a dark age. There was no law and there was no order. Men lived in fear of one another, for the strong preyed upon the weak.
In the middle of the darker part of the woods, a ghost named Clockwork was gathering, well…struggling to pull water out of the well that was outside his cottage.
"A dark age indeed!" Clockwork grumbled as he continued to struggle with pulling the chain. "Age of inconvenience. No plumbing. No electricity. No….no….nothing!"
He reached over to grab the bucket, but ended up almost slipping inside the well. He yelped and pulled himself out as he held onto the bucket, spilling almost all the water he had collected.
"Oh blast it!" He grumbled in annoyance.
He suddenly felt his ghostly tail snag on something. He looked to see it had gotten tangled in the chain. He phased it off and then walked back to his cottage as he mumbled, "Everything complicated. One big medieval mess!"
He walked inside and shut the door. He poured some of the water into a kettle and placed it over the fire. His cottage was filled with books, clocks, chemistry sets and everything.
He set up the table with cups and cookies and then looked at one of his many watches as he said, "Well let me see…he should be here in…uh…I'd say half an hour."
"Who? Who?" A skeleton bird named Jason asked as he came out of his bird house. "I'd like to know who?"
"I told you Jason, I am not sure exactly." Clockwork answered as he positioned the chair at a table. "All I know is that someone will be coming. Someone very important. Fate shall direct him to me, so that in turn I may guide him to his rightful place in the world. As I always say, everything is the way it's supposed to be."
Jason scoffed and asked sceptically, "And you say he will arrive in half an hour?"
He flew over and sat on another perch and scoffed in disbelief, "Well…we shall see!"
He pulled out a pipe and began and began to smoke a little. As the smoke appeared from the pipe, he began to get a vision of the person he knew was coming, "He will be….a boy. He'll be about…13…..14 years old. He'll be a bit of a scrawny fellow….black hair….blue eyes….a halfa by birth…"
The vision in the smoke showed someone, but not the boy he was describing. Walking down the path near the entrance of the forest was a tall 20 year old man, with blonde hair, wearing a white tunic shirt with short red sleeves, brown pants and black shoes. He was carrying a set of arrows and a bow as continued his way.
Clockwork shook his head at the man and said, "Oh no! That's not the one. That lad must be twenty years old."
He then saw the boy he had exactly described trying to keep up with the man. Black hair, blue eyes, wearing a red short sleeved tunic shirt with blue pants and black shoes. He then shrugged and suddenly a white halo ring appeared around his waist and his hair changed to snow white hair and his eyes changed to glowing green. He suddenly floated in the air and flew after the man.
Clockwork smiled and said with a chuckle, "Oh there he is! The scrawny little fourteen year old halfa!"
Jason placed his wings on his hips and asked, "And where would you guess he is at this very moment?"
Clockwork frowned at Jason and snapped, "I'm not guessing Jason! I know where he is!"
He closed his eyes and began to envision where the boy was, "He's about a mile from here, just beyond the forest. Right on schedule."
Danny, the boy Clockwork had seen changed back into his human form and climbed up the dead tree and sat above Dash, making a little bit of noise and disturbing Dash's concentration as he looked out for the deer he was hunting.
Danny was taken in by Dash's father when he was a baby and became his foster son and right now, he had followed Dash during his hunt since he was told to help him carry the deer back to their home for dinner.
"Be quiet dweeb! You might scare off the deer!" Dash snapped quietly.
"I'm trying to be quiet." Danny said.
"Why did you come anyway? Nobody asked you to come along." Dash said as he continued to look out to the horizon.
"Relax Dash, I'm not even moving." Danny said.
"Be quiet!" Dash snapped and continued to look.
He then smiled as he saw the deer. He pulled out an arrow and loaded it onto the bow, taking aim at the creature as he said, "Here we go. Right through the old gizzard and dinner is served."
Danny leaned forward more on the branch to watch, unaware it was breaking from his weight. Suddenly the branch broke, causing Danny to fall straight on top of Dash, not only scaring the deer but also causing Dash to release his arrow straight into the air and heading into the forest.
"WHY YOU CLUMSY LITTLE FOOL!" Dash shouted in anger and began chasing Danny around, trying to hit him with his bow.
"Dash! Calm down! It was an accident!" Danny pleaded as he dodged the blows and began running towards the entrance of the forest.
"If I ever catch you, I'll ring…." Dash began to shout while chasing him, accidentally falling over a dead tree. He stood back up and finished, "I'll ring your scrawny little neck! So help me I will!"
Danny stood behind a tree and said, "Dash stop! I'll just go in the woods and get your arrow back. I'm sure it's not that far."
Dash stopped at the entrance and laughed a little. He then said, "Don't tell me you're going in there? You may be half-ghost Danny, but you can't be serious! That place is swarming with wolves and who knows what other dark creatures are lurking in there."
"I'm not scared, unlike you Dash. You go find another deer and head back home. I'll meet you back there." Danny said and then took off into the woods.
Dash scoffed and said as he left, "Alright. It's your skin not mine."
