A/N: I know I'm so bad, I just keep coming up with different story ideas and don't finish them. This will be how movie Sonic meets Shadow and Tails and of course AU because I will have Maria alive here maybe, possibly add more character arrivals. Ya, lets have fun with this you know?"

Chapter 1: Tom, can you come over?

After Robotnik was sent through the portal and sent to the mushroom planet, Green Hills went back to some what normalcy. Its citizens coming together to repair the parts of town that had been destroyed in the battle. All in all everything seemed good.

Well, except for the weather.

April had come around and with it the promise of constant heavy rains and thunder unfortunately lasting hours on end.

It was Friday but the weather wouldn't let up and the sheriffs of Green Hills sat in the office filing out some paper work before they clocked out for the night. Tom finished first but he waited around for his friend to be done downing some coffee he had made in the lounge room.

"Almost done there bud?"

Wade looked over at Tom rubbing his eyes with a stretch.

"Yup, last sentence then we can go."

Tom fist pumped just as his partner got up moving to the printer as the file came out neatly printed. Wade picked up the papers and stapled the corner inserting them into a large envelope grinning at Tom.

"Freedom!"

They did a quiet yell with raised arms and laughed as they put away some things and left the room. A couple of other people leaving the office stared at them and laughed but didn't say anything, everyone knew how these two were together. Finally they dropped off the files at the front desk waving at the kind desk lady as they walked out the glass doors and into the parking lot.

"See ya tomorrow Wade! Oh Don't forget, Maddie says she wants you over for dinner tomorrow. She know its your days off too so you better not forget."

"Dude sometimes Maddie's scary..."

Tom laughed as he got out his keys and opened his car door.

"Start using the coasters and she wont be so scary anymore. Goodnight Wade!"

Tom got into his car and drove away blasting some Kansas song from a classic rock station on the radio.

By the time he got home it was still raining and he cursed after parking the car because he realized he left his umbrella back at the office. Hazel eyes looked around for anything he could use to cover his head and he laugh in triumph as he found a rolled up news paper in the back seat. Quickly he straightened it out and ran like a bat out of hell towards the house jumping up the four steps and opened the door.

"Maddie! I'm home!"

Leaving the soaking newspaper outside, he took his boots off inside by the door and closed it. The sound of barking could be heard further into the house coming closer making him smile. Tom looked down the hall as the golden retriever came running from the kitchen excitedly.

"Hey Ozzy, good boy!"

As he showered the dog with affection Tom looked up hearing laughter coming from the kitchen and smiled. The bubbly laughter of his girlfriend making him curious and he gave the dog a last pat as he walked off. He looked at the pictures on the wall with a fond smile, it was still so strange how much his life had changed within a year but as he stood at the entrance to the kitchen Tom watched his little family happily. Maddie was standing in the kitchen next to the blue hedgehog that changed their lives. Currently they were in the middle of attempting to make a cake. The hedgehog wore an oversized shirt that he figured Maddie must of put on him to keep the hedgehogs fur from getting dirty.

"How's becoming a pastry chef going?" The sheriff asked with a mischievous smirk on his face. The two looked over with smiles and laughter.

"Wonderful, though we might just have to make cupcakes instead of cake now. Considering most of it ended out of the bowl thanks to my whisk master over there."

The hedgehog turned around with a pout but kept mixing the clumpy batter in the large bowl making the couple smile.

"Hey, I was just trying to be helpful. I thought it be faster than the dumb electric thing."

"It's a whisk Sonic and I told you not to use your speed for everything."

The hedgehog groaned acting like a mopey child Tom looked at him with a smile and a raised brow as he moved to get a drink from the fridge. Maddie stood in the middle of the kitchen with her arms crossed but she wasn't angry.

"Oh come on! Being slow is sooo booring. Ughh…"

"Were not slow Sonic, you're just going too fast buddy."

Sonic grinned at his friend with a smile. Finally Maddie took her chance to take the batter from the hedgehog placing the mixture into a smaller round cake tin.

Most days were like this now, usually Tom would come home to find the pair in the kitchen or in the living room despite his urges to get the hyperactive hedgehog to bed earlier. There was always a quick with response along the lines of, 'But I wasn't tired yet!' or 'How come you guys don't get to bed early too then?', on these nights he'd always settle the whining with a promise of taking away his video games and he'd be quick to run up stairs. Then there were other nights where he'd come home to find Maddie with the hedgehog sleeping next to her, a plush blanket over them both and a TV remote loosely held in hand on the couch. Brown eyes looked up warmly with a smile and she'd raise a finger to her lips shushing Tom as his keys rattled on the counter. Tom loved those nights now and there was a certain fondness that started to grow for his tiny family as he'd pick up the sleeping blue form that mumbled sleepily over a shoulder walking up the stairs to leave Sonic in his room.

"Tom, can I watch a movie before I got to bed?"

The said man looked over making a face that looked like he was in deep thought making the hedgehog cross his arms in irritation.

"Toomm-ughh!" The sheriff snorted finally letting up and stood off the counter reaching a hand out to ruffle the blue fur between Sonics ears.

"Okay fine! You get thirty minutes."

"Forty-five and I'll brush my teeth." Blue said back cheekily with a grin.

"You're supposed to brush you're teeth every night and no, I said 30 minutes and that's it."

Sonic grumbled as they left the kitchen walking towards the living room.

"Okay wait, I'll take a shower too! Please! Please Tom!"

The hyper hedgehog ran circles around the sheriff tugging at the knees of his pants constantly. The man finally rolled his eyes with a huff and laughed as he plopped heavily onto the couch and snatched the remote.

"Alright fine! An hour and that's final! You're taking a shower though Sonic."

"Heh, you got it doughnut lord!"

The man rolled his eyes as Sonic climbed onto the couch like a child and sat down kicking off his shoes. Maddie made her way out the kitchen and stood in the door way staring at her boys with a warm smile. She loved the little change to their family too. It wasn't a baby like she wanted but a hedgehog kid was just as good, she snorted a laugh with a shake of her head making the two on the couch stare at her oddly and she placed a hand over her mouth politely waving them off. She could use a moment to chill and so she went over sitting next to her boyfriend snuggling into his open arm as they chose something new to watch together.

By the time Wade got home the weather was still just as harsh but now the thunder had started and he got out his car grabbing his fast food bag from the Happy Burger booking it for the door. As he was looking around for his keys he noticed the window of his garage was opened and a couple trash cans seemed to be toppled over. He left his greasy food bag on the porch chair and walked over to the mess to inspect the area. The trash was all over the floor, but he didn't want to pick up the bins in fear of alerting anyone if someone had broken into his garage. From a distance he assumed maybe the raccoons had made the mess but the open window of his garage said otherwise and he gulped nervously wondering if he should call Tom before he went in. he stood there in the rain almost bouncing in place as he thought about what to do but the more he thought about it the more panicked he became and he mentally groaned wanting to kick something.

"Come Wade! You can do this, its probably nothing, maybe its just some raccoons. Ya! Some… really… Smart raccoons, but raccoons nonetheless. Alrighty!"

The sheriff quickly ran back to his car and took out his police flashlight and went for the door on the other side of the garage. He entered cautiously turning on the flashlight as to not panic the intruder if there was one to begin with. His right hand unconsciously moved to his waist grabbing at his gun holster shaking slightly from the cold but mostly with fear.

"He- Hello?" He asked tentatively into the dark garage and jumped almost screaming as loud thunder shook the place. He took in a deep breath holding at his chest and rolled his eyes. "Oh my life…I hate this…" He whispered between bit lips and quickly settled himself to look around the garage moving the light around the place quickly. He almost missed it because it was so dark but he flashed the light back in particular corner of the room and paid close attention as a black looking furry ball closed in on itself more and flinched.

"What the…?"

Wade's voice came out softly and again the ball flinched and he stepped closer curious to see exactly what this creature was. At a closer inspection it seemed to have quills and there were streaks of red here and there on the animals body. The closer he got the more details he could make out and inches away from the ball on the ground it opened large eyes to reveal red irises and Wade yelped jumping back dropping the flashlight scooting further away.

"Wh-What the hell is that!?"

Quickly he turned around scrounging for the flashlight pointing it back at the creature as it stared worriedly up at him still in its ball form. The sheriff was spooked but it looked like the animal seemed to be just as frightened and it made him feel a little better thinking this thing might not pose a threat. The sheriff rubbed a hand over his face with a sharp intake of breath and slowly reached for the cell phone in his pocket keeping his eyes on the creature. Quickly he looked for the only contact on his phone that he thought would be helpful because really there was only one person in Green Hills that he knew of with alien experience.

Sonic was trying to cover the cake with vanilla frosting.

His silicone spatula coated in a healthy glop of the white sugary substance and he looked up at Maddie for approval before spreading the frosting with a giggle. Tom laughed at the hedgehog rolling his eyes at the childish attitude when his cell phone started ringing from the kitchen table. His girlfriend looked over with a raised brow and Sonic saw his chance to start licking the spatula with his version of an evil laugh. Tom turned around answering the phone looking over at Sonic and rolled his eyes as he pointed finger warningly.

"Ugh, oh come on Sonic, you know how you get when you eat too much sugar. Put it down, I'm warning you." The hedgehog grumbled and stuck out his tongue moving his stool towards the sink to wash the spatula.

"Fine, whatever."

Toms attention went back to phone as he say exactly who was calling and made a face as he answered.

"Wade? What's up?" The voice on the other end of the phone sounded shaken.

"Uhm, Tom? C-Can you come over?"

The said man looked back at his girlfriend and Sonic mouthing Wade wanting him to come over and they both gave each other a curious shrug, Tom moved his attention back to the phone.

"Why? What's wrong something happen?"

On the other end he could hear shuffling and heavy breathing before his partner replied.

"Well, ugh… ya? Th-theres something in my garage… I- I don't know what it is but it's got huge eyes and they're red."

Tom made a face eyeing Sonic curiously as he answered quickly.

"Wade, you sure its not just some rabid raccoons that got in or something?"

"No Tom! It's not the raccoons! Get your ass over here now! Please! Please?"

Tom almost wanted to laugh but smeared a hand over his eyes with a sigh tilting his head back.

"Alright already, I'm coming over. Don't go near and don't touch it Wade, I'm serious!"

"Whatever, just get here quick."

The other end went silent and Tome put the phone in his pocket looking over at Maddie as Sonic jumped of the chair excitedly.

"I want to go! Can I go, can I go please! Maddie tell Tom to let me go too!"

The woman chuckled as her boyfriend crossed his arms and shook his head. She went over to the coat closet and took out some small red rain boots and a matching coat looking over at Sonic. Her boyfriend gave her a curious stare with a raised brow. She lowered the items to Sonic who also looked at her curiously.

"You can go with Tom if you promise to wear the rain coat and boots. I know you don't like water and your other shoes will soak Sonic. I don't want you getting sick."

A little blue tail waged and the hedgehog laughed eagerly hugging the items close to his chest. He turned to his father figure bouncing in place with a wide smile like an excited child ready to go to the park.

"Look Tom! Look what Maddie got for me, isn't this great? Now I won't get wet in the rain!"

Sonic gave a cheeky grin making the couple laugh at the cute behavior. Tom patted the hedgehogs head and made a face reaching over for a kitchen rag. He held Sonic face with one hand and started cleaning off frosting with the other from the peach fur of his muzzle. The hedgehog made a face and scrunched his left eye with a whine.

"Stop it, I can do it myself Tooom!"

The hedgehog swatted at Toms hands as he moved the rag up to clean his ears.

"You didn't even know it was there bud, come on. Get changed so we can go. It seems like Wade's got an animal or something in the garage."

Maddie looked over curiously and walked over taking the rag from Tom as he finished.

"An animal? Want me to come with you guys? I've got the tranq-gun and some sedative pills, maybe I can help."

Sonic and Tom shared a look and nodded thinking it wouldn't hurt to bring her along. They both knew the tranq-gun was very affective. The sheriff put his hands on his hips looking at his girlfriend sternly, hazel eyes staring with warning.

"Alright, but if anything looks dangerous you get in the car and let us handle it okay."

She rolled her eyes at them putting on her boots and coat adjusting her long dark hair in the hoodie.

"Ugh, men… Come on lets go before something bad happens to the poor guy…"

The sheriff looked down at the hedgehog and again they shrugged before following after the vet lady closing the door behind them.

Wade trembled as he continued to hold the flashlight at the creature. It hadn't moved, it just stayed there in it's balled form staring back with its red eyes. Oddly enough, he swore it was glaring at him.

"O-okay, it's okay, n-nice kitty."

He again tried to reach out to it and flinched curling in further and its eyes disappeared momentarily before opening again to peer at the sheriff in fear.

Wade was about to move when he heard the honking of a car that caused him to jump the ball also jumped slightly at the noise.

"Thank God Tom's here…" He could here voices and footsteps getting closer to the house. "I'm in here Tom!"

The door opened and two more flashlights brightened the room as they pointed towards where Wade sat on the floor. He looked over at them with a nervous smile his own flashlight pointing at the left corner of the garage near some toppled boxes.

"Wade! You okay? what's going on?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine. It-it's over there by the boxes."

Tom lifted a brow and he put out a hand keeping Maddie back Sonic stayed with her for extra protection just in case. As he closed in on the creature he turned up the brightness level of his flashlight focusing on the creature. He took in the details noticing some odd similarities and his expression smooth over as he huffed out curiously.

"Woah…" The blue hedgehogs voice came out softly from behind him.

It seemed Sonic noticed what it was too and he unconsciously moved closer in curiosity. On hands and knees the blue hedgehog wandered closer, the group in the room staring nervously as they pointed their flashlights.

Sonic's green eyes widened with interest and he sniffed the air around him cautiously inching closer. His gloved hand was centimeters away and grazed the tips of black fur suddenly the creature growled and rolled further back. Sonics fur raised and he jumped back slightly still on hands and knees ready to pounce.

"Sonic? Everything okay there buddy?"

Sonic flinched looking back at Tom, his fur going down slightly with the calming feeling of safety his friends gave him.

"I-I'm okay…I- I got this…"

Sonic turned back with determination and he smiled softly trying to put on the nicest tone of voice he could muster up despite his own growing fear. But he was so curious, he wanted to know if his suspicion was right about this creature.

"Hey, it's okay… We're not gonna hurt you, we're here to help… My names Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog… What's yours?"

The ball stilled from its constant tremble and opened its eyes now glaring at Sonic. It seemed to stare at him studying his form curiously rolling forwards slowly. The ball stayed there for a moment unmoving and they began to think it was going to stay that way until Sonic again spoke softly.

"I promise… I won't let them do anything to you…"

Slowly the ball unfurled revealing the balls true form as it extended its legs, arms stretching out in front of its lap giving them a good view of a tan muzzle. The quills of its head spread out unlike Sonics which are down and they were accented with a cadmium red. The hedgehog opened its eyes and Sonics breath hitched, he'd never seen anyone with red eyes before. Sonic sat back on his knees staring at the creature in wonder.

"It's a hedgehog…"

Tom looked over and smiled placing a hand on his hip, his girlfriend sharing a similar pose besides him. Wade was dusting off the back of his pants as he grumbled something about feeling stupid.

"Looks like you're making a new friend Sonic."

Green eyes stared at the ebony hedgehog, Toms voice sounding faded and miles away making his ears flicker. This was exciting, there's another hedgehog on earth! He took off his coat and offered it to the hedgehog with a warm smile.

"Here, its cold out, you can wear this I'm sure it'll fit."

Maddie gave a knowing smirk and moved to turn on the light in the garage. She reached out for her boyfriends arm who looked at her curiously but she smiled sweetly and turned away to open the door.

"Alright, lets get you inside to get a good look at you. Doctors orders."

Sonic smiled looking back to see the hedgehog slowly putting on the coat. He reached out his hand again internally preying the other would comply with them.

"Come on, it's warmer inside. I'll help you up."

Red eyes stared at green curiously and Sonic could feel the scared uncertainty there. He swallowed and sighed, his hand almost lowering and he started to look away till he felt fingers tentatively touch his own. Sonic quickly looked back up tightening his grip on the other hand with a grin.

"Heh, Maddie's really good at making hot chocolate, you'll love it! She's super nice and Toms cool too! Just don't eat mess with his doughnuts or he might eat you."

"Hey!" Tom shouted.

The blue hedgehog let out a giggle tugging the other roughly off the floor sending him crashing into Sonics side.

"Whoops! My bad, got a little over excited heh!"

Sonic blushed letting the other adjust before pulling the ebony hedgehog along with him out the door.

Tom walked up the front steps of Wades house with a grin, everyone else piling around as the front door was unlocked.

"Sleep over at Wades house!"

"Yay! Ooh can we stay up and watch scary movies!"

Maddie raised a brow as she walked into the house and took off her boots, Tom snorted a laugh as he followed suit.

"You had nightmares after watching Annabelle, so I don't think so. No scary movies for you hedgehog."

"Awww! Come on! No fair, you guys are no fun…"

Blue ears twitched hearing soft chuckles besides him and he turned curiously to see the ebony hedgehog holding a hand over his face shyly. Sonic lightly blushed staring at the hedgehog but quickly smiled as the other stopped in embarrassment.

Maddie and Tom watched the interaction curiously but didn't say anything. The smirk still present on the veterinarians and her boyfriend besides her had raised brows and hands on his hips in surprise.

"Things are about to get very interesting around this place again…"

Wade had his arms crossed staring at the group and shook his head.

"What's next an alien invasion?"

Sonic laughed running into the kitchen pulling the ebony hedgehog behind him.

"Don't jinx it Wade!"

Tom and Maddie laughed following behind the hedgehogs into their friends kitchen, Wade shook his head and sighed.

"It's going to be a long night…"
