Chapter One - She Really Has Lost It

"You can't find her?" Carapace questioned as he sighed in frustration and looked the map over. "It's been almost a year. How can't we find her?!" He slammed his hands down on the table, breathing heavily as Rena Rouge placed her hands on his shoulders and sighed.

"You need to calm down. It won't do us any good if you're akumatized too." She kissed his cheek and gave him a small smile before looking out the balcony. She lost her bestfriend months ago and hadn't known why.

"Where is he?" Queen Bee glanced at the clock, 11:54 PM, the others shrugged and shook their heads earning silence. "How long is he planning to be out for?"

"We don't know, Bee. And you can't scold him either-" Viperion started but she interrupted, standing up abruptly and shook her head, "Because he lost someone important, yes I know. But so did we! So what's his excuse?" Tears threatened to spill from her eyes, fists clenching at her sides when he took her hands into his own, calming her nerves and she sat down.

"It's clear that we all need to relax and take a break. I'm sure we're all tired." They all turned to Ryuko who'd been looking out towards the city and agreed, only Viperion and Carapace staying behind. She sat down as Carapace put the maps and items away as Viperion leaned against the table with his arms crossed and a concerned expression.

"Where do you think she is?" It was clear to him that she was hiding something, maybe it wasn't such a serious thing to mention but she wasn't sure. Everything depended on what their next move was. One mistake and she might find them before they found her.

And with the help of Volpina, Evillustrator and Reverser, Hawkmoth could find where the holders hid and lose everything and everyone. Without Ladybug, Paris rested in their hands and they promised to eachother and to themselves, they won't lose. It was the least they could do for the fallen spotted heroine.

Or at least that's what they thought.

The door slammed shut, heels clicking against the cold tiling as she stared out the tall glass window watching the city from above. "Do you need something?"

"Hawkmoth needs you." The fox answered as the bluenette sighed before facing the brunette. "It's important."

They exited the room and walked down the hall towards the elevator, silence filled the air as the only sound to be heard was the click of heels and the rustling leaves that flew outside. "How's the black kitty cat?"

"Frustrated as ever. You've done a number on him, Miss Fortune." She merely shrugged, a smirk tugging her lips as they entered the elevator and rode up to the room where Hawkmoth awaited. "If I'd known any better, I'd say you might not even want to go back-"

"Don't push it, Volpina. It doesn't matter if we're on the same side, we're never going to be friends." She snapped at her, a firm expression on her face as Volpina shut her mouth and looked away.

It's true she never liked the spotted heroine but boy, did she scare her. A hero who only shown the sweet and caring side, one who put others before herself and managed to save the city over and over now the villain with a bad attitude and a sadistic smile. Even one who held the power of creation in her hands, some may call her a god but most would call her the end of the city. Maybe even the generation of miraculous heroes.

Everyone who fought alongside Hawkmoth knew they could never meet the expectations he had for her. Not even catch up to her level, they were all pawns in both their games. A game to the finish line for the prize of the world. All what needed now was the black ring her former partner held. And even Hawkmoth knew with the power she holds and the strength she has, she may not be under his control anymore.

The bluenette drew in a deep sigh, crossing her arms as the elevator doors opened and stepped out with Volpina. "Oh and Lila?" The fox turned to her with a bored but confused expression. "Get Sabrina for me. I need her do run an errand."

"I'm not your errand girl, do it yours-" Complains cut short, her back slammed into the wall, her head pounding from the impact as she winced.

"Now now, Lila. Even foxes are hunted. I'll crush your windpipe before you even have the chance to fight back. We're not the same nor were we ever friends. You're either with me or against me, Lila." A smirk plastered on her face as she walked away, the words Lila was once lingered on her mind as she realized she had made a big mistake ever messing with that girl.

Never would've she thought the words she had used once ago would be the same words used against her.

She really has lost it.

Volpina wasn't sure if that was the girl they found crying in the alleyway, the same girl who she used to bully and taunt. Sure the reason she was crying might've been her but now, it didn't seem like she wanted to fight back.

She fought at first because of her friends, the thought of losing them haunted her mind and dreams. Then was given a taste of power and completely switched.

The girl was long gone, trapped inside a cell with no lock and key, with no way to escape unless the help and power from her friends managed to be enough to save Marinette from herself.

Though, it's not clear if she wanted to be saved. Even though, she's playing sides, Hawkmoth doesn't know her true intentions either. He had everything calculated but when it came to Marinette, it's unpredictable. This might very be the greatest project he got his hands on or the end of Paris and possibly the world as well.

And as she walked into the office, the black tailcoat trailing behind just inches on the floor, it clicked for Volpina.

She had a plan of her own, a means to end this the way she wanted. Maybe that's what she meant, she sighed and walked away to find Sabrina. Volpina had a chance to choose, hoping it was the right choice when it came down to it.

"Good, you're here." He spun around in the chair as she glanced at Mayura then set her eyes on him, curiously intrigued on his next words. "Reverser found your little heroic friends hiding out." He stood up from the chair, grabbing his staff during the movement and handed her an akuma, weirdly enough it was dormant.

"The akuma is dormant, gives you a chance to plant it inside the hideout and set in their item. We'll be able to spy from there without either of them finding out."

As he explained the plan to the young girl in front of him, Mayura distinguished an item behind the belt of her tail coat. A dagger.

Now what could she be using that for?

Mayura knew what Volpina knew, the spotted villain having a plan of her own and a goal to win in mind. The woman had some idea about her plan and recalled she asked her for help. Even under the influence of Hawkmoth, Mayura still held a caring side to her and agreed to help the young girl.

Only receiving information about it all when Marinette was sure it can work the way she needed it to.

Knowing the bluenette, she might've altered many plans in the past to work for her and only her.

"It's not a good plan but it isn't a bad one either. You're forgetting one little detail, though i can handle it my own way." She shrugged, observing the purple butterfly as she began walking towards the door, a plan in mind.

"What's that?" Mayura questioned, watching the bluenette stop in her tracks and look over her shoulder. And as she thought for a moment, they watched as her expression and body language changed.

"My black cat."

It was the next day, the sun shining as the birds chirped happily. A clang heard outside and the only one awake, rushed out to the balcony cautiously. "Noir?"

There, Chat Noir laid bruised and battered as he held his side, face contorted in pain and nodded slowly. "Yeah...a little h-help?"

A sigh came from picking him up and throwing his arm over her shoulder as he detransformed, Plagg flying around scolding the boy as Chloe rolled her eyes and giggled. "You really pissed him off if his first words aren't about camembert."

"Shut up. I ended up g-" he winced with every moment as they neared the medical bay, "-getting intel about her." He whispered, watching as Chloe's eyes widened with hope and opened the door, setting him on the table.

Pressing the red button on the wall beside the light switch and gathered the supplies needed to patch him up when he grabbed her hand with tears in his eyes. "It's not good. She's-"

His emerald green eyes traveled from his best friend to the door, meeting the long forgotten bluebell eyes he thought he'd never see again. He couldn't believe it was true, a sad smile crept his lips as he got off the table holding his side and walked towards her with heavy steps.

The blonde covered her mouth in shock, tears streaming down her cheeks and shook her head, watching as her friend fell into the bluenette's arms and sobbed. All the feelings he kept bottled up and inside now pouring out in the arms of the girl he loved.
