Stuck in Time: Adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir's Children-
In Emma's quest to become a hero, she and her twin brother, Hugo get stuck in the bygone days of their parent's teenage years. Can they make it back in time before the adolescent versions discover who they are? Or even more crucial, can they make it back before their real parents discover what they had done?
Chapter 1:
Emma was feeling very, very proud of herself. Looking up at the statue of her parents, Ladybug and Cat Noir, she could think only one thing. She had done it! The Big One! A story she could tell her future kids, lest she not have any others… But that was what she was here for! An stunt to have future stunt an adventure to learn how to properly adventure.
She was already declaring her newfound womanhood although only being fourteen. And small for her age as well. But, the inches she didn't have in her figure were in her blond hair, which cascaded down her back freely. For the most part, Emma was like her dad. The same green eyes, hair, and tendency to leap before she looked, and this was something she prided herself on. Being like her dad, she felt, was like fulfilling a lot of her requirements of being a hero, which were mostly imaginary rules she made when watching them fight. It was already inevitable, again Emma felt that she and her brother were to become superheroes. With the threat of the new Hawkmoth not dying down anytime soon, maybe not as Ladybug and Cat Noir, but they would rise to the occasion.
However, despite her enthusiasm, she wasn't sure she was ready for the task. Emma had no idea how to be a hero. She was sure her brother would know, he always knew how to do everything, but how embarrassing would it be to ask him for help? She couldn't, no way, not ever, so she snuck out. In a special way.
It was the dead of night, and Emma had shoved off her covers to reveal, not pajamas, but a casual summer dress. Slipping on some flats, she crept out of her room through her double doors. She was very paranoid. Her twin brother, Hugo's room was just next to her's and this wouldn't be the first time that he caught her sneaking out.
Emma frequently snuck out to watch the Akuma attacks, which often occurred late at night. It was a miracle that she wasn't dead already!
The miracle's name was Hugo.
Anyway, tonight she refused to be deterred. This wasn't just for entertainment, this was for the salvation of Paris! Hugo wouldn't be able to understand because he was naturally good at everything! Being a hero would be no problem for him. He was… dare she say it... Like mom.
From his black hair, to his sea-blue eyes, to his infinity with fashion designing. The only difference was that he was taller and a boy, but other than that, they were identical.
Emma stuck her tongue out at his door. Copy-cat, she thought childishly. This name might apply more to her, being similar to her dad/cat superhero. But nevertheless, she tip-toed on and into her mother's study. Which part-timed as a storage closet for her mother's clothes beside the messy desk. On the wall perpendicular to her, there was a bulletin board that consisted of sketch designs and pictures of Emma and her brother.
Rubbing her hands together slightly, Emma began the search.
She wasn't looking for a key, or any sort of secretive folder like in the movies, nor was she looking for any indicative photograph. She was looking for a circular stone. A magical stone that would be about the size of her thumb with electric blue dots. This stone would grant her one trip back in time if she broke it. How? Emma couldn't tell you. When the explanation came, she was focused on counting each one, and memorizing the shapes, sizes and colors of each. Her brother, she was sure, knew, however Emma waved that away. How exactly they work and are made is unimportant and a trivial factor to her goal. It's not as if she needed to make stones.
So she carried on, switching from the slides under the fabric to the drawers of her mother's desk. And upon turning, she saw a pair of mischievous green eyes staring back at her.
"What do you think you're doing?" The floating cat Kwami asked slyly, making Emma jump back and crash into the fabric cart. The entire thing toppled over, the fabric came undone and it was really loud. "Plagg!" She whispered, "What are you doing here?"
"Hmmm, I could ask you the same question." He replied, grabbing a piece of cheese from thin air, which he inhaled through his smile. Emma uncovered herself from the fallen fabric and stood up on her knees. "I am here on important business, you hear! My future, and the future of paris depends on it!" She hissed.
The cat's eyes turned in slits as his smile got, if even possible, more mischievous. The floating being twisted over on his back and hummed. "If it really is that important," He started with mock concern, "Why don't we call your parents. I am sure they would be happy to help!" Emma's eyes went wide at his threat. "Don't you dare-"
"OH ADRI-" Plagg's calls were cut short by Emma grabbing him by the waist and covering his mouth. "Ok, ok, fine," She said in a hushed voice.
Releasing him, she leaned into his face and whispered importantly, "I want to go into the past."
"Ok." Plagg replied, breathing in yet again, another piece of mysterious cheese. The juvenile sat, absolutely dumbstruck as the Kwami unlocked the lowest drawer. "The stones are in there. Have a nice trip." He granted Emma goodbye before floating through the wall, leaving Emma gaping at the spot he left.
Closing her mouth quickly, she tried to reason that Plagg was a weird Kwami. He wouldn't allow her to leave just to rat her out, would he?
Emma turned her attention back to the magical stones. There were many different kinds, all organized into different sections. Since she couldn't see the labels with the lights off, she had to recognize them by touch. Emma rubbed her hands over the different shaped stones, some were jagged and some were smooth. Stopping her fingers at one group of stones, she felt carefully for the small indented holes. Emma was willing to bet that those were filled in with a light blue, and she did. A moment later, footsteps could be heard crossing the marble floors. She knew it was Hugo. It was her sibling intuition, she knew based off of the speed and impact. She was about to be caught.
This is bad! This is bad This is badThisisbadthisisbad!
So, Emma did what Emma does and took action. She stood up and crushed the unconfirmed time stone beneath her heel. In a rare stroke of luck, the right kind of portal opened up in front of her.
And so, here she was, standing in the past of her parents. Wasn't she a genius! Sure, there had been hiccups, and sure, she could be caught and grounded for the rest of her life. But this is Paris we're talking about. Her favorite city.
This is going to be amazing! She squealed from excitement. Her parents, in the future, were so confident. So-not-amature. Not like her. She had held a miraculous before of course, being allowed to test a few of them out a couple times. Once, she was even allowed to hop around the city. However, she was never allowed to fight Akumas. No experience, she had none.
Emma grumbled, she had asked everyday if she could join them! What do they think is going to happen if, by some unfortunate accident, they had to take over? They wouldn't be good off the bat. Her parents weren't.
At least, she didn't think so…
Her thoughts were cut short by a faint tinkle of a bell, and a teenage girl stumbling out of Tom and Sabine's bakery. Specifically, a teenage girl that looked very similar to her brother.
A perky grin appeared on Emma's face as she inconspicuously started to follow her. This had to be her mother. She had seen pictures of younger Ladybug, and they were a spitting image if she didn't wear a mask.
She was so lost in her thoughts of giddiness that she almost didn't notice her mother tripping...into the street. Emma might've not noticed at all if a sudden feeling broke into her subconscious, making her creepily aware of everything going around her. She scanned the situation around, and noticing her mother had fallen, a reflex, quite like a survival instinct, kicked in. Grabbing her mother around the handle of her backpack, she pulled her out of the way of an oncoming car. That scared Emma, she hadn't even noticed the car. It was like tunnel vision, and Emma…
She blamed her bad luck for that. Of course a car would conveniently come by just as her mother, the one who brought Emma into this world, had tripped. It suddenly occurred to Emma that this might've been an important event. A cause and effect chain reaction. She watched a lot of anime, and was pretty sure she might've started WW3 or something.
"Sorry, it's just my luck that I would trip into the street just as a car was coming." Her mother said, looking embarrassed at having to be saved.
"It-it's alright- I mean, it was alright, you should be more careful and everything, but it was no trouble saving you. Um… You're unlucky, really?" She questioned just to give her time to calm her nerves.
"It's worse than the Black Cat's." Marinette huffed.
Oh my god, oh my god, ohmygodohmygod, She was talking to her mother/young Ladybug. She had just saved a hero! And, quite possibly, have started an apocalypse.
