Katarina Claes, proud daughter of the Duchy of Claes and fiancee of the third prince of the kingdom of Sorciere, refused to believe that she… that she… that she had fallen in love! It was completely inconceivable to her, who had spent her whole life dedicating herself to becoming Prince Gerald's wife, to fall in love with someone other than him. And what's worse it was with… with-
"Heyyyy! Rinaaaa! What are you doing here? Did you come to help me with the field?"
"Hardly!" Katarina shot back, "Honestly I simply cannot understand what you find so fun about playing in dirt. That is the exact opposite of how a proper duke's daughter should act. How you and I are the same person I'll never know."
That's right, the person Katarina Claes had fallen in love with just so happened to be an alternate world version of herself! The girl had, quite literally, dropped in on one of her tea parties and ever since she had completely flipped Katarina's life around.
The other Katarina had, within a few weeks, fixed her parents relationship, gotten Keith to stop acting like a playboy, gotten the attention of her fiance, befriended Maria Campbell, Mary Hunt, and Sophia Ascart, fixed Prince Alan's inferiority complex, and overall just seemed to charm anyone within arm's length.
While Katarina felt like she should probably be upset at how the girl suddenly came into her life and managed to obtain everything she had ever wanted in just a few days, it was that mysterious charm that had managed to enrapture her as well.
"Awww! But it is fun! Plus you get to eat what you plant! C'mon just give it a try, I know you'll love it!"
Katarina felt the corner of her mouth twitch as she fought to keep her signature scowl on her face. She truly did not understand what she found so appealing about that girl, but that, unfortunately, did not stop Katarina from finding her exuberance infectious.
"Very well." she agreed, careful to make herself sound less excited by the prospect than she really was, "Since I know you won't stop bugging me about this I suppose it wouldn't hurt to simply give it a try."
"Yaaaaaay!"
And that is how Katarina Claes found herself spending the next few hours getting dirty and sweaty and having the time of her life. She had been correct, once Katarina had gotten into it it had actually been quite entertaining.
"Aaaaand there! That's the last one. Let's go wash these off and get them to the kitchen."
"Yes, let's."
"Soooooo?"
"What?"
"How was it?"
As Katarina stared into her counterparts expectant eyes she couldn't find it in herself to lie to her.
"It… was not as bad as I thought."
Though that didn't mean she was going to outright admit that she had fun doing such an unladylike activity. And yet that just seemed to make her counterpart's smile even wider.
"You know you can just say that you liked it, you big tsundere you."
Katrina Claes didn't know a lot of things, like why this girl had intruded in her life, or how long she'd stay, or what a tsundere was, however there was one thing she did know and that was that she wanted to see more of that smile. Perhaps once they found a way to send her home Katarina would be able to accompany her. God knows the only person who might miss her here was Anne, and she's sure that her other self wouldn't mind bringer her along as well.
But that was all still yet to come, so she would simply make the most of the time she had right now.
