Author Note: I hope that you enjoy this new story for Easter 2021. I know that many of you are waiting for my new stories and they will be out as soon as I can. My life has gotten a little busy and that means that it's time for a new Easter story. It has been a while since I did a one take story.
Character Summary:
Steve is married to Alyssa and they have a little girl who is about to celebrate her first Easter. He still works for the team.
Alyssa is married to Steve and they have a little girl who is about to celebrate her first Easter. She used to work with the team but decided to stay home full time.
Lexi is the daughter of Steve and Alyssa. She is about to celebrate her first Easter. She is three months old.
Steve's POV
"I don't know why we are making a big deal out of her first Easter. It's not like she is going to remember her first Easter." I say to Alyssa. She knows that I am right about it too.
"Yeah but I just want to make sure that everything is prefect for her. We are going to take many pictures and then have our memories of it." Alyssa responded to me.
"Alyssa, I am not sure about this and we need to make sure we don't go overboard with her first Easter." I said to my wife. I knew that it was almost time to go to work.
"I know that you are saying this but I really want her to have a special day. Plus, we both know that my parents were not always there and with your mom gone for most of your childhood. I would hope that you would want to make this special for our daughter. Steve, please understand this." She responded to me.
"Look, I get it but I just don't want to go overboard with it." I said to her before finishing getting ready for work. We say our goodbyes before our daughter wakes up from her morning nap.
Alyssa's POV
I could not believe that Steve did not want to give our daughter the best first Easter. I knew that he had feelings about this when I said that I wanted to do this because my parents were not there. I also knew that I kind of hurt his feelings when I mention his mom in the conversation but he knows that I did not mean to do that. I spend most of the morning with our daughter outside for a few hours when Danny arrived to the house.
"Hey, do you have a minute to talk?" Danny asked me.
"Yeah, what is going on?" I asked him.
"What happen with you and Steve this morning?" He asked me.
"We were having a conversation about Easter and how we are going to celebrate it with our daughter." I said to him.
"Did you happen to mention his mom?" He asked me.
"Yes, I know that he was upset with me this morning but I don't understand why you are here?" I responded to him.
"Steve arrived to the headquarters clearly upset about what happen this morning." Danny revealed to me. "He doesn't know that I am here."
"So if he doesn't know that you are here then why are you here?" I asked him.
"I am just trying to get an understanding on what happen between the two of you. We both know that Steve loves you and Lexi so much that he wants to do right by you two. I just don't know why you said things about his mother when you know how much it hurts him that she left." Danny responded to me.
Steve's POV
I could not believe that she said about my mother. I was so upset when I got to work that I knew that Danny would notice when I got to work. I pulled into my parking spot and got out of the truck right as Danny arrived to the headquarters.
"Hey buddy, is everything okay?" He asked me.
"Yeah, it's fine. Alyssa and I just had a hard time figuring out how we should spend Lexi's first Easter and that she brought up my mom into it." I revealed to my friend.
"I see. Are you going to talk to her about?" Danny asked me.
"I don't know if I should and I don't want you to do it." I revealed to him.
"Steve, I think that it's important that you talk to her about how you feel. She has the right to know how you feel." Danny revealed to me. "Think about all the advice that you gave me for Rachel when she was pregnant with Charlie. You told me to tell her how I felt. It was hard for me to see her with someone else while pregnant with my child that I did not know was mine."
"But that is also a different story because we all thought that the baby was Stan's child and then it turned out to be yours." I revealed to him.
"Still you encourage me to tell her how I felt and I listen to you and now you should do the same." Danny revealed to me.
I got home a few hours later and found Alyssa sitting on the couch with Lexi. I put away my work stuff before picking up Lexi to spend some time with her.
"I need to talk to you. I feel bad about what I said about your mother. That was out of line for me to say to you. I am sorry." She said to me. I had a feeling that Danny had something to do about it.
"Thank you, I appreciate it but I do think that you are right that we should do something special for her first Easter." I said to her before giving her a small kiss.
"Are you sure?" She asked me.
"Yeah." I said to her with a smile.
The next morning, we got up and laid out her Easter presents before getting her up for the day. Danny and the rest of the team were coming over to celebrate. I knew that Alyssa did not know that they were coming.
"Do you think that she will enjoy it?" She asked me.
"Yeah, I am sure that she will enjoy it. I am glad that we are doing a small get together." I responded to her.
Alyssa's POV
Steve was outside getting the Easter Egg hunt set up for the kids. Danny was bringing Charlie and Grace to do the hunt with our daughter. Grace was getting to the age that she has no intersented in doing the hunt and that's fine with us. I was in deep thought when Danny arrived with his kids.
"Aunt Alyssa!" Charlie said getting me out of my deep thought.
"hey buddy." I said to him with a smile.
"Where is Uncle Steve?" Charlie asked me. I love the bond that Steve and Charlie have and can't wait to see Steve have that same relationship with our son when we have one.
"He is outside. I bet that he is waiting for you to play ball." I said to him as both Danny and I watch him run outside.
"Don't run." Danny said to his son but it was too late which he knew that it was. "I have a feeling that Steve is going to want to have a little boy of his own."
"I am pretty sure that he is going to want one soon or later. I mean that he is good with Lexi but I can see that he has a special bond with Charlie." I responded to him with a smile.
Grace walked back into the room with Lexi and sat down on the couch. Danny went over to sit with him.
"I am also pretty sure that Grace is going to want have a new little sister sooner or later." I joked with him.
"Yeah well. It's not going to be with me." Danny responded to his friend.
"I figured as much." I responded to him.
We waited for the rest of the team before heading outside to do the Easter Egg hunt. Steve was "helping" Lexi with getting her eggs as I was taking pictures.
