She didn't like hospitals. She didn't like medics. She didn't like nurses. She didn't like doctors. They asked personal questions, invaded personal space and got on her personal nerves.

Kurenai glowered at the receptionist. The woman was chattering loudly on the phone with a friend and her squeal-like laughter made her cringe. She was even more irritated than ever when a young man sat next to her despite all the empty seats available and began talking to her in an obvious attempt to flirt.

"I injured my hand while fixing the roof of my store." He said, trying to sound casual. He leaned over, almost pressing his arm against hers, and smiled. "I have enough money to get someone else to fix it, of course, but I prefer to do it myself. Why are you here?"

"Psychological evaluation." Kurenai deadpanned, giving him a piercing glare. It wasn't entirely truthful, but she enjoyed the way the young man flinched and backed away, stuttering an apology. At least she would be left alone while she waited.

"Miss Yuhi?" The receptionist gave her a bored stare. Despite being the only other woman in the waiting room she was expecting her to nod in confirmation.

"Yes?" Kurenai decided to play along. It would be over sooner. Hopefully.

"They are ready to receive you."

"Thank you." She snapped. She stood up, ignoring the young man's farewell and marched over to the examination room. It was dimly-lit. The medical chair looked ominous. She felt like she had walked right into a torture chamber.

"Hello, Kurenai. Long-time no see. Please have a seat." Sakura sat behind the messy desk, holding her patient file. It was the first time seeing her in medical uniform and she had to admit that it looked good on her. She was a little relieved to see a familiar face but not enough to relax. Her face remained blank as she sat down at the opposite side of the desk.

"It's really been a long time." Sakura muttered. "You haven't been to an examination for three years. How come?"

"I was busy." Kurenai replied shortly. It was a lie. Of course, she usually made sure she was on a mission during the two months when most shinobi had their check-ups, but she had had plenty of time to make an appointment herself. She just 'conveniently' forgot.

Sakura gave her a look that told her she knew she was lying and sighed. "You know, a lot of shinobi don't like hospitals. We were trained from a young age to be secretive and these examinations go against everything we feel comfortable with. However, it is mandatory."

"I know that." Kurenai snapped and left it at that. She didn't mean to snarl at Sakura, but she was on edge. She hated how nervous she was.

"Then stop being difficult so that we can get this over with." Sakura hissed back.

Kurenai blinked in surprise. She had heard rumors and seen glimpses of Sakura's infamous temper, but she never thought she would be on the receiving end. An unusual tingle settled in her stomach that she tried to ignore.

"I'd like to ask you a few questions before we start." Sakura continued. She was frowning slightly. A single glance in her direction told her that Sakura would not be tolerating any nonsense. No lying. No beating around the bush. Got it. "Have you ever used soldier pills and, if so, when was the last time?"

"I don't use soldier pills." Kurenai answered truthfully.

"Have you ever experienced chakra fluctuation? Feeling fatigued one moment and energized the next for no apparent reason?"

"I know what chakra fluctuation is." Kurenai said. Her eyes were glued to Sakura's hands. She was scribbling on a piece of paper and she couldn't quite see what she was writing down. "And no, I haven't."

"Are you currently under a lot of stress?"

"Define 'stress'."

Sakura looked up from the paper she was writing on. "Have you been feeling depressed or do you have the feeling there is a lot of pressure on you?"

"No."

"Are you using any kind of medication, drug or stimulant on a regular basis?"

"No." Kurenai did not like people asking if she had a habit. She knew a lot of shinobi did in order to endure daily life, but she was still offended whenever someone assumed that she did as well.

"Have you recently felt disconnected from your civilian life?"

"…No?"

"Do you have trouble maintaining close relationships or forming new relationships?"

Kurenai hesitated. "I don't think I do."

Sakura looked up again and studied her for a moment. "Are you currently seeing someone romantically?"

"No."

"Are you sexually active?"

Kurenai clamped her mouth shut so hard that it rattled her teeth. "I don't see how this relates to my health."

"You know that this health examination includes a psychological evaluation. It's your own fault for avoiding it for the past three years. Just answer the question."

Kurenai fidgeted with the bandages on her dress. She felt vulnerable and exposed. She felt as if Sakura would judge her. She swallowed thickly. "I haven't been going out a lot recently."

"Do you want to?"

Kurenai relaxed slightly when she saw the look of understanding in Sakura's eyes. "Sometimes I do. Sometimes I feel lonely and I get dressed up to go somewhere. But when I arrive at the bar I just feel lost."

"Do you feel ashamed?"

Kurenai began to sweat. She had never told that to anyone. She didn't want people knowing about her personal problems, but if she didn't answer the question she would be forced to see a psychiatrist for a more thorough evaluation. That was something she wanted to avoid at all costs. "I do."

"What are you afraid of?"

"I'm afraid of bumping into fellow shinobi. I'm scared that they will judge me or that I will see parts of their lives that I don't want to see."

"Such as?"

"Catching them cheating on their spouse, picking up underage girls, getting drunk or high or both, walking into some kind of fetish club. I don't want to see such things because I know why they're doing it and I don't want to forgive them just because I know. It's not an excuse."

"And you're scared that you might end up doing the same and that someone will catch you in the act?"

"Yes."

"Isn't that an irrational fear?" Sakura said gently. "The sheer fact that you are afraid of something like that happening is more than enough to prevent it from ever happening. But it should not prevent you from living life and indulging every now and then."

"I know." Kurenai took a deep breath. She felt like a weight had been lifted off of her shoulder, but she didn't feel any better. Her relief was nullified by the knowledge that someone now knew of her fear.

"When was the last time you had sex?"

Kurenai froze again. "I don't remember."

"Don't lie to me." Sakura waved her pen in her direction disapprovingly. "I'm not here to judge you. Believe me, I am in no position to judge you."

Something about that statement made Kurenai curious. She wondered momentarily if Sakura had gone through something similar or perhaps was going through it right now. "It was eight months ago."

"Did you enjoy it?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"I was very drunk. I have no memory of the night itself."

Sakura sighed heavily, but never mentioned the word 'rape'. "Is that when the fear started to manifest or did that make it worse?"

"That's when I admitted to having the fear to myself."

"Have you ever talked about it to anyone before?"

"No."

"Do you want to?"

"I despise psychiatrists."

"I'm not talking about professional help. I'm talking about friends."

"Most of my friends are male. I have no intention of talking to them about my sex life."

Sakura rubbed her face tiredly. "I know these questions are intrusive, but there is a reason why I'm asking them. This is important."

"I'm fine. I'll deal with it by myself. I don't need help." Kurenai said, getting defensive.

"Shinobi life is very stressful. You need some kind of outlet." Sakura pressed.

"What I need is for you to get this examination done with so I can go back home to my son."

Sakura paused. "Does he have something to do with this?"

Kurenai flinched. "No."

"Are you afraid your son might catch you doing something?"

Kurenai looked away, refusing to answer. She had had enough of the questions. She had already said too much. Way too much. This was going to bite her in the ass one day. She just knew it.

Sakura remained silent for a while. It was beginning to make her even more anxious. Maybe she had pissed her off. Kurenai looked back and paled. There was an expression of the young woman's face that made her stomach tingle once more. It was another glimpse into that treacherously dominant and violent side of Sakura. Only this time that look did not vanish.

"Alright. Suit yourself. We will proceed to the physical examination." Sakura practically purred the last two words.

Kurenai swallowed thickly before shaking her head. What was she thinking? Since when was she attracted to women. She better get a hold of herself before this ended in embarrassment. She was snapped out of her thoughts by the sound of a moving chair.

Sakura had stood up and was pulling on a pair of latex gloves. "If you'd kindly get undressed."

Kurenai did not like the way Sakura was talking to her now. It was cold and impersonal yet it wasn't like the other doctors. It was a silent demand that had dire consequences if she choose to ignore it. She began to tremble and she didn't know why. Maybe she didn't want to know why. It felt like a mixture between anxiety, anticipation and excitement. There was a lump in her throat and a larger one in her chest. Her stomach was doing flipflops.

"Do you need help?"

"No." Kurenai stuttered way too fast. She flinched as Sakura raised her eyebrow expectantly. She undid the bandages of her dress and gloves and they fell on a heap to the floor. Her sandals were next, followed by her shorts. She was way too aware of that fact that Sakura was watching her every move and a shiver went down her spine. Finally, she removed her mesh shirt and stood before her fully naked. She tried to lift her head proudly, but felt too exposed and vulnerable. Instead she attempted to hide her nudity by covering her breasts with her arms. She folded them, but only ended up pressing them against each other and making them more prominent. At least her nipples were covered. The thought did little to comfort her.

"Do you have any you have any wounds, bruises, scars or sensitive areas I should know about?"

"I don't – no." Kurenai blushed. For Kami's sake, she was a grown woman. She had no reason to be ashamed of her body. She had no reason to feel so… so…

She squeaked when Sakura's cold, latex-covered hands touched her hip. She prodded them briefly before moving to her ribs than her shoulders and elbows. She appeared to be examining her joints or something. She had no idea what she was doing but it was going her goosebumps.

Sakura bend down and began touching her knees. Her face was dangerously close to a place that hadn't been touched by another for months. Kurenai was glad when she ducked down even lower to tickle her ankles. Her relief was short-lived when Sakura stood up and grabbed her wrists, leaving her feeling exposed again. She was so focused on this that she squealed in surprise when Sakura touched her head. Her face heated up in shame, but thankfully Sakura did not seem to notice or choose not to comment on it.

"Your chakra points seem to be fully functional." Sakura muttered. "Though the ones in your head and neck are a little cloudy, but that could be because of nerves."

Kurenai did not answer. She was perfectly still as Sakura's hands slid down her back, feathered across her ribs once more and lightly cupping her beasts. Kurenai inhaled sharply. "W-what are you doing?"

"Looking for lumps." Sakura deadpanned before outright grabbing her breasts and fondling them.

Kurenai had half a mind to disagree. This was not… she was not ready for… she was not enjoying this. She was shivering, scared yet excited at the same. She wanted her to continue and hated herself for it.

"Spread your legs."

"I… I'm scared my son will grow up to be like them." She didn't know why she said that. "I'm scared that when he grows up and sees the horrors he'll also start cheating on his wife or worse. I don't want him to be a shinobi."

"But that's what Asuma wanted, right?"

Kurenai nodded, her lip quivering.

"Being a single mother must be difficult."

"It is."

"You're not alone, Kurenai. There are support groups and-"

"Don't patronize me. You have no idea what I've been through."

Sakura's eyes did not soften. "I apologize."

Kurenai felt her hands move down her stomach. Any lower and the pink-haired girl would know exactly how much she missed being touched…

A request long time coming. I'm so sorry, if you are even still reading this. I wanted to put something out. Perhaps, one day, I'll write the second chapter until then… enjoy the erotic tenseness.
