Chapter 1 The Temple
Shortly After Korra was discovered to be the next Avatar at the age of four she was beginning to learn Water bending from The Previous Avatar's water bending Master and Wife, Katara.
After her husband's death Katara had made a promise to teach the next Avatar to help the new one who had taken her husband's place.
To Korra Katara was like a grandmother figure to her since she didn't actually have one on her parents side.
But one thing about Korra was she didn't have any friends her age which made her sad.
Currently Katara was teaching her some water bending moves with her parents watching.
"Now watch me, Korra. Waterbending is all about slow, calm movements." Katara said.
Of course Korra thrusted her fists out making a wave of snow that buried her.
"Pretty good huh?" Korra said.
"Not again." Tonraq said as Senna rushed to Katara.
"I'm so sorry. Korra doesn't seem to know her own strength." Senna said.
"It's all right. I've battled more dangerous waterbenders than her. She'll learn to control her power, in time." Katara said.
Thats when the whole place shook violently shocking everyone.
"Whoa!" Korra yelled as her father held her. "Did I do that?" Korra asked.
"No...That wasn't you." Tonraq said.
Thats when the shaking got even worse.
"Whats going on?" Senna asked before the cliffs behind them started to shake.
Thats when it started to come apart revealing an ancient temple inside the ice.
"Whoa." Korra said as the others widened their eyes.
"What is this?" Senna asked.
Later
"This temple is certainly old. Far older than anything I've ever read or seen." Tenzin said inspecting it.
"It doesn't match anything from the Southern or Northern tribes." Tonraq said.
"I noticed. Perhaps this was built long before the tribes were ever created." Tenzin said.
"But why did it come up now?" Senna asked.
"It's possible that something forced it to come up. But what lies within however...Is the bigger question." Tenzin said.
"Katara could you watch Korra while we go inside?" Senna asked.
"Of course." Katara said.
"Aw." Korra whined making her laugh. (Does this sound familiar?)
(Insert burning Bush from Prince of Egypt)
Walking into the temple they were quick to notice statues of people that did not appear to be from the lands.
"I don't recognize these people." A member of the White Lotus said.
"Are these past Avatars?" Tonraq asked.
"No. Something about them is...Foreign." Tenzin said as they reached in further.
Walking into a chamber they were quick to notice a casket in the center that was covered in ice.
"Odd." Tenzin said as they walked to it before they saw a woman inside.
"Hold on." One member said using fire bending to try and melt it but it did not work. "What?"
"Clearly thats not going to work." Tenzin said before noticing mirrors in the room along with the sun coming down. "I wonder." Tenzin said.
Tenzin and the others moved the mirrors to reflect on each other before the light hit the ice.
Slowly but surely the ice slowly started to melt.
Walking to the casket Tenzin placed his fingers on her neck but sighed.
"She's dead." Tenzin said
"Why was she buried her?" Tonraq asked.
"I don't know. Perhaps she was someone important." Tenzin said as Senna took a closer look in the casket.
"Should we move her?" A member asked.
"I'm not sure." Tenzin said as Senna looked closer before she noticed something wrapped in a rag before she saw it move making her raise an eyebrow before she moved it and gasped.
"TONRAQ" Senna yelled making him rush to her before she pulled something out.
It was a boy. He looked to be about five years old. He had white skin and brown hair while he was asleep but shivering.
"He's freezing." Senna said.
"He was in the casket?" Tenzin asked in disbelief.
"What kind of inhuman does that to a child?" A member asked before the woman woke up with a gasp shocking them as she breathed heavily.
"My...Son?" She asked before Senna handed him to her as she held him close before smiling at him as her breathing started to become short showing she was dying. "I am so sorry I won't get to be there for you as you grow. To see you become a good man." She said kissing his forehead as he stopped shivering before she looked at them. "Please...Protect him...One day they'll come for him." She said as Senna took him back.
"Whats his name?" Senna asked.
"I...Named him...After a person...Who protected me...And his father...His name...Is Sean Ashburn Kruger." She said before she stopped breathing making Tenzin sigh.
"Poor thing." Senna said holding Sean close before the woman started to turn to green glowing dust that flew into the air before it vanished shocking all of them.
"I will always watch over you."
(End song)
Later
Sean was on a bed as the others discussed what happened.
All the while Korra looked at him in curiosity.
"So who do you think that was?" Tonraq asked.
"I'm not sure but clearly she wasn't normal. Powerful for certain. She was in there with her son for a reason." Tenzin said.
Korra got closer to Sean before he slowly began to open his eyes showing they were forest green before looking at her tilting his head as he sat up.
"Hi." Korra said waving making him smile.
"Hi." Sean said.
"We should at least keep an eye on him." A member of the White Lotus said.
"Follow me." Korra said dragging him outside.
"She asked him to protect him. Clearly someone or something was after them." Senna said before going to check on him.
"We don't even know how long she was in there." Tenzin said.
"I can't find him!" Senna said alarmed making them rush in and found him missing before Katara went out front before laughing.
"He's fine." Katara said making them look before seeing both of them in a snowball fight before Korra used water bending to bury him in snow making him laugh.
"No fair." Sean said laughing making her laugh while the adults smiled seeing this.
"Maybe we can at least watch over him for a while until we know what to do with him." Senna said to Tonraq who nods.
"YIKES!" Sean yelled dodging another wave of snow."Thats not fair!" Sean laughed.
"I'm the Avatar you gotta deal with it!" Korra said grinning making him blink.
"Whats an Avatar?" Sean asked making her blink.
"Your joking. You don't know?" Korra asked.
"No." Sean said.
"Clearly he's from a time before the Avatars." Tenzin said.
"Do you know what bending is?" Korra asked.
"No." Sean said.
"The South pole?" Korra asked.
"Nope." Sean said.
"Do you even know your name?" Korra asked.
"Nope." Sean said shocking her.
"Clearly he doesn't remember anything. His mother may have erased his memories for his protection. I don't think someone was after her specifically. I think they were after him." Katara said.
"But why? Whats makes him so special?" Tonraq asked.
"Only time can tell." Tenzin said.
Later that night Korra and Sean slept in the same bed making Senna smile before she and Tonraq went to bed as well.
However as Korra slept an image appeared on her front.
"It's been a long time Young Kruger. And now you're legend begins."
