Simon's First Match

Simon Seville wasn't the most physically fit chipmunk around, with more of a focus on brain power than muscle power. This often resulted in him getting teased and being called a complete nerd, a term he learned to take as a compliment. There were times however when he wished to have a good physique as well as a high IQ, a deadly combination to be sure. Lucky for him, his brother Alvin was going to give him what he needed, a lesson in kicking tail.

The two chipmunks, along with their other brother Theodore, were currently in their room. Both Alvin and Simon were standing in a Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots boxing ring with the actual robots removed, with Theodore standing on the sidelines. Alvin was in one corner wearing a red tank top and boxing gloves, he was currently doing some light punches for a warmup. Simon was on the other corner, trembling with fear, he was also wearing gloves in addition to a blue tank top. He also replaced his trademark glasses with contacts for the occasion, "Alright Simon, here's how this is gonna work. All you have to do is try to knock me out." Alvin instructed.

"Alvin, I know you taught me some boxing before all this, but that doesn't change the fact that I am still not at your skill level." Simon said.

"I'm not that good." Alvin said.

"Excuse me Mr. Co-Captain of the school Boxing Club." Simon reminded him.

"Who am I kidding? I'm just that good." Alvin did his usual bout of showboating by raising his gloves in the air, causing Simon to scoff, "Just remember, we're doing this to toughen you up. So just do your best."

"Alright then." Simon said as Theodore then got into the middle of the ring and urged both his brothers to get ready.

"This will be a one round bout. It will go one for as long as it needs to. No fighting dirty." he said. Alvin got in a professional stance, while Simon held out his gloves nervously in front of his face. Theodore made the signal to start and the brotherly bout commenced. Simon started swinging first in a wild fit of flailing motions, which Alvin sidestepped, causing the brainy chipmunk to crash on the ring floor.

"Try to take it slow at first." Alvin told him.

"Noted." Simon said as he got up and Alvin moved in, causing him to again make a panic punch toward Alvin's face. He expertly dodged and socked a counterattack into Simon's nose, causing him to stumble back a bit with his eyes crossed.

"Come on, you think so much at homework, why not this?" Alvin mocked. Simon didn't want to hear these taunts any longer, he rushed Alvin again, earning him another punch to the cheek which sent his head sideways. Alvin didn't let up this time, he kept wailing on Simon with a combination of punches, sending his brother stumbling back towards the ropes. Simon desperately tried to defend himself but kept seeing a full view of Alvin glove several times.

Alvin stepped back as Simon leaned on a corner post, arms drooped to his sides with a dazed expression, "Didn't know the stars were out tonight..." the brainy chipmunk mumbled.

"I really need to see some effort here." Alvin urged. Simon slowly got back his senses and raised his gloves once again, only for Alvin to move in a pummel him yet again. As he was punched over and over, only one thing passed Simon's mind.

"I wish I could show Alvin what for." he thought.

"Come on Simon! You really want to be known as a wimp your entire life? Because that's how it sounds right now!" Alvin shouted. This just about did it for Simon. As Alvin wound back a last punch, Simon pulled his fist back and slammed it as hard as he could into Alvin's cheek. To Theodore and Alvin's surprise, it was a pretty hard punch as well. Alvin spun 360 degrees in slow motion as soon as the punch made contact, eventually stopping in the middle of the ring, swaying slightly with his arms dropped and his eyes spinning, Cheese Balls circling his head, "Tasty..." he mumbled before he fell backwards and just laid there with the same dazed expression, his tongue lopping out. Theodore ran into the ring and hugged Simon in excitement.

"Yay! You won, you did it!" he cheered.

"I honestly don't know what came over me." Simon admitted. They both looked at Alvin's dizzy frame on the ring floor, it was obvious that he won't be getting up for a while, "Come on, let's let Alvin enjoy his nap." The two brothers left the room and Alvin stayed knocked out on the ring floor, he was equal parts proud and humiliated. He would get him back soon.
