The Cheeks family had gotten an offer to move up north and take jobs as ranch hands at the main estate of their prominent employer. The small family of four squirrels had spent weeks with a caravan of others that were also making their way to the Electro's main family manor. The Electro's were well known even in the south as they seemed to have their hands into just about every industry. Back in Texas they had more than a few cattle ranches which is where most of the caravan had been moved from.

The daughter, Aashini Electro, had gotten married and taken serval of the estate's workers to her new home thus causing the need for additional workers up north. Seemed that Aashini was very particular about who handled her beloved Chocobo's and also about who cooked her food.

Dean Cheeks, the male head of the poor squirrel household, found the change to be an opportunity to get more recognition from the family's current work masters. Sandy, her brother Randy, and even their mother weren't thrilled about the idea of uprooting and having their spoiled rich employers looking over their shoulders all the time. In the end they all squared their shoulders and fell in line with the elder squirrel's command, because what Dean said was pretty much what became law to the rest of the family.

Sandy happily helped setting up the tents behind some of the worker's quarters. In the beginning she had enjoyed the journey to their new home but quickly found herself getting sick of setting up camp and then taking it down the next day. Half of each day's work was messing with camp, as there were many weak women and young children in the group. Had her family just rode up north on their own she was sure they could have gotten there in half the time that it took the caravan. So, the idea of setting up a camp that they would inhabit for some time until they were given their own space inside the surprisingly upkept workers quarters seemed like heaven to her. After thinking about it for only a short time the young female squirrel realized that the elite family likely didn't want any eye sore on their property, even if they would never set foot near it. Seemed likely that was the reason why that anyone of the buildings they would soon be moving into seemed far nicer than any house she even thought she'd be able to inhabit in her life.

Sandra jumped after being slapped on the back. Instinctively she turned around and nearly knocked her brother out. Luckily her male twin jumped back just in time that her fist barely grazed it's intended mark of his face. "WOW!" Randy held his hands up in defeat and started to chuckle. "Sorry dar killer!" He laughed at her expense, as she normally wasn't so jumpy. "Just wanted ta let ya know it's chow time."

"Yer darn well lucky ya didn't end up eating my fist, Randy. Don't sneak up on me!" The female chastised her brother.

"I'd hardly call it sneaking considering I was whistling da whole time." Randy crossed his arms and gave his sister a suspicious look. "What's got ya so lost up in yer head?"

Sandy shrugged as she kicked the excess dirt off her boots. "Guess, it's just weird finally being here. Our new home." She looked around at the people gathering outside of the dinning hall and socializing with their meals in their hands. It seemed there wasn't enough room for all the new commers inside so everyone was gathering outside being that it was such a nice day.

"Well let's go introduce ourselves ta our new cohorts and get some grub while we're at it." Randy smiled and then grabbed his sister by the forearm and pulled her in the direction of the other. She smiled as she let her brother lead her towards their new working family.

Shadow was surprised at the number of new workers that had shown up to replace those that had left with the youngest Electro, after her marriage. He was making his rounds with two of his underlings, to ensure there was no uptick in trouble among the workers due to the new arrivals. So far, he was grateful to see that if anything, everyone seemed to be in better mood than usual. Now, so long as most of the lowly employees didn't indulge themselves in too much ale things would likely stay low key for the rest of the night, and Shadow might be able to get some sleep before his boss, Static Electro, returned from his resent trip to meet yet another prospective wife.

Usually, Shadow would stay by Statics side during such a trip, but due to the fact that so many new employees were showing up, Proton, Static's father insisted that Shadow, who was one of the family's most trustworthy guards, stay and keep things at home from getting out of hand. So far it seemed his presence heading up the rich family's personal army wasn't needed, but he couldn't blame the head of household to be extra safe and keep him there in case things did go sideways with the new pawns of manual labor.

The newcomers seemed to be a bit off put by the hedgehog's patrol, as well as the other Peace Keepers, lurking about, but those that had been there a while seemed to not even noticed those of authority's presences. However, one new comer caught Shadow's attention quickly, as she was staring him down with question and suspicion. He looked her back in the eyes directly and gave his most off-putting glare. He was shocked to see this power move, on his part, made no different in her optical shake down of his intentions.

He finally moved his eyes off of her's and started looking around at the others. He knew full well that girl, who could barely be considered a woman, was going to be trouble, just hopefully not trouble he'd have to deal with.
