It's been five years since Charlie and the Branch Davidians stepped through the Breach to Earth-38. Life has been pretty calm. There was an adjustment period that stemmed from the Branch Davidians going from 1993 to 2019. They were lucky that they had Charlie to help them adjust to all the new technology and anything else that was different in 2019 than it was in 1993.

And even though Martin had died - Charlie, Richard Friesen, Clive and Shari had visited for his funeral - and Jax left the team in 2020, Sara and the other legends, which now consisted of: Mick, Zari, Behrad, Nate, Ray, Nora, Mona and John Constantine - well actually John's not really one of the legends. Well he is, but he doesn't consider himself one and he doesn't stay on the waverider. Anyways, the legends still visit often. They were coming for a visit in a couple of days for the birthday of Aisha's second daughter - Treasure Summers - who is turning five.

The kids are all growing so fast. Next month Nicole's baby boy - Bodhi Lucah Gent will be turning five as well.

Dayland, who is now eight and super smart, has learned a lot about science from Ray. He loves science. And another thing that he's excited about is being the ring bearer for Nora and Ray's upcoming wedding.

Ray first brought Nora to meet the Branch Davidians two years ago and they had accepted her right away. Everyone loved her, and she had formed a bond with the then four year old Chanel, who had been instantly fascinated by Nora. Chanel was now six years old and excited about being a flower girl in Nora and Ray's upcoming wedding.

Since the birth of Treasure and Bodhi, eight more of David's special little children have been born. He's expecting numbers 23 and 24 later this year. Rachel is five months pregnant. And David's 24th child will be extra special since it's…Charlie.

Charlie is two months pregnant with David's baby and she couldn't be more excited to be a mother. She can't wait to tell Sara. But Charlie - as excited as she is - she's also worried about what powers her child might have. Since destroying the loom, Charlie is not a fate anymore. She can't shapeshift. Nor does she have her immortality, but for thousands of years, she was a fate. And Charlie's worried that her child may be born with powers. Even though she hopes her child will be a normal human, just like she is now.

Charlie can't cook, but one thing that she is able to contribute to the Branch Davidians on a daily basis is her musical expertise. She's not only the only woman in the band, but she is also a music teacher for the children. And even though all the children love Charlie, she had maintained and furthered deepened her close bond with the now nine year old Serenity as well as growing closer with Michele and Rachel. Actually Charlie's pregnancy has made them even closer, since they now share something in common. They are - or will be in Charlie's case - mothers to a least one of David's children. Rachel and Michele both have three children with David.

Charlie was in the music room preparing for today's lesson. It was a Wednesday. This was the day she taught 8-10 year olds. That was Dayland, Serenity, ten year old Isaiah and eight year old Crystal Barrios.

The door to the music room was open and Shari Doyle had been walking by when she saw the worried look on Charlie's face and walked into the room.

The now 23 year old Shari, who is one of David's wives and a mother to two children - two of David's children.

Ringing off the new year on the fourth day in January of 2020, Shari had birthed her first child. A girl, who David had named Shoshanna Joelle.

Two years later - in the month of August on the 19th, Shari had her second child with David. A boy. This child was named Simeon Josiah.

Standing behind Charlie in the music room, Shari cleared her throat. It was a good thing that Charlie didn't scare easily as she turned around to look at Shari.

"Hey Shari." Charlie greeted.

"Charlie, are you alright? You look worried."

She took a breath, "Oh...just worried about my baby. Wondering if he or she will be born with some of the powers that I once had."

Shari gave a nod, stepping closer to Charlie, "I'm sure your baby will be fine. He or she will be healthy and beautiful, not just because David makes the most beautiful babies in the world."

Charlie gave out a little laugh as she agreed, "Yeah. He does. All his babies are just gorgeous."

"Like I was saying." Shari continued, "Not just because David makes the most beautiful babies in the world, but because she or he has a beautiful mama."

"Thanks Shari." Charlie replied, gratefully.

"And...and if he or she has powers." Shari added, "If he or she has powers, we'll all deal with that as a family."

Charlie smiled, "Yeah. Family."

"We all love you, Charlie." Shari told her

Meanwhile with Steve Schneider, he was very skilled with a camera and had been able to get a job working as a cameraman at CatCo.

Steve worked in the same department as James Olsen, and the two had become close friends over the last four years.

"Hey." James greeted as Steve walked into work, "How's Judy and Mayanah?"

James has been out to the new Mount Carmel by open invitation many times. It had been awhile since he had visited. The last time was a few months ago for New Years.

"They're doing great." Steve replied, "Judy's healthy and Mayanah is smart and very gifted with words.

Mayanah is now seven years old and still as much of a talker as she was when she was two. She's taken to the art of writing. She writes everything, from keeping a diary to writing stories.

James gave a nod, "Yeah. That's good. That's good. I'll try and come out this weekend."

"So what's on your agenda for today?" Steve asked

"I'm doing the photos for a piece that Kara wrote about helping the community, human and aliens alike."

Steve smiled, "Oh cool. Yeah I'm filming an interview for Nia with alien number two hundred and eighty-six. An elf named Ryllae Preswraek."

"Have fun."

"Yeah." Steve agreed.

Steve had been skeptical of the aliens at first, but once he got to know a few of them he realised they weren't so different from us humans. He quite enjoyed meeting them now.

At the Mount Carmel center, there was a knock at the front door. Katherine Andrade was the closest to the door, so she was the one that answered it. There she found Ray and Nora.

"Ray! Nora!" Kathy exclaimed as she hugged Nora first, but only because Nora was closer to her than Ray.

Kathy was now 29 years old and in the last five years she had borne one more of David's children.

In March of 2020 - on the 28th day - she had her second child with David and her first and only son. He was named Ramiel Samson.

"It's so good to see you too, Kathy." Nora replied hugging Kathy back.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, turning to hug Ray next. She hadn't been expecting them for another two days.

Ray hugged Kathy back, "We came early. We were in the area on a mission. Sara and the others will be here tomorrow. They're just wrapping up their mission."

"So how's my little Cha-Cha?" Nora asked, refering to Kathy's daughter Chanel.

Kathy laughed, "Excited. She'll be so happy that you're here early. She's been parading around the house for the last week saying 'Nora's coming! Nora's coming!'."

"Aww!" Nora uttered as she and Ray stepped inside.

Kathy nudged Ray, "Dayland had been doing science experiments since your last visit. Last week he tried taking Nicki's phone apart to see how it works."

Ray smiled, proudly, "That's my boy." He closed the door after he was inside.

Nicole and Michele were sitting in the front playroom area watching some of the younger kids, like: 21 month old Simeon Doyle and 16 month old Glory Martinez, who were playing with wooden blocks and puzzles. And six year old Bobbie Koresh, who loved playing with her baby sister 8 month old Batya Sylvia.

Glory was the daughter of Audrey Martinez, while Batya was Rachel Sylvia's child. Both Glory and Batya were fathered by David.

Ray had stuck with Kathy, who was leading him to where Dayland was. Nora had poked her head into the playroom.

"Hey Nicki. Hey Michele." Nora spoke

Nicole and Michele both looked over at Nora and smiled. Nicole stood up and walked over to Nora, who had stepped into the room to hug her.

"Nora." Nicole greeted with a smile, "It's good to see you."

"You too." Nora replied before turning to briefly hug Michele and then joining her on the couch, watching the children playing, "So where's Aisha and the birthday girl?"

Michele smiled, "Aisha and David took Treasure out for ice cream."

After leaving Ray with Dayland, Kathy told Chanel that Nora was here and now all that Nora could hear was that little girl's voice yelling 'Nor! Nor!' as she ran through the hallways.

Soon Nora looked over to see Chanel standing in the doorframe of the front playroom and then the six year old ran and leapt into Nora's arms.

"Nor!" Chanel exclaimed

"Cha-Cha!" Nora mimicked, wrapping her arms around Chanel.

Chanel hugged Nora tightly, "I missed you."

All of a sudden a thud was heard on the roof of the Mount Carmel home.

"What was that?" Michele wondered

Nicole shrugged, "Sounds like someone is on the roof. Maybe Jeff or Greg is working on the roof."

Nora shook her head, "No. It sounded more like someone or something landed on the roof."

"Sara and the others?" Michele questioned, looking at Nora.

"No. They're coming tomorrow." Nora informed

Nora truly didn't know who or what had landed on the roof, until she heard a sound that she never thought she would ever hear again.

Hope you enjoyed. Leave a comment if you liked it.

Who or what do you think caused the thud on the roof?
