Ahem: a collection of stories for my little sister's birthday. I shall put my music library on shuffle and pair her top 10 ships with the first 10 songs. Each ship gets a story related to the song with decreasing times: ship #1 gets 10 min., ship #2 gets 9 min., ship #3 gets 8 min., etc. So ship #10 is a hot mess 1 min. panic attack.
You don't HAVE to listen to the song first...but you might want to. And author's notes are bolded.

WHAT DID I TELL YOU. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF IS INEVITABLE. YOU CAN'T ESCAPE IT.
"Hey...Toph?"
Toph looked up from the discarded pile of Appa fur she had been lounging on with an uninterested – he thought – expression. Not that she could look at all.
She grunted by way of a response.
"Do you miss being rich?"
She lay back down.
"Hmm. No."
He shook his head.
"You're crazy. If I had been rich like you, I never would have left." His eyes began to glaze over as he thought about – "Ah, yes, the absolute extravagant excess! My rooms would have rooms, and my servants would have servants, and my wife would have all the meat in the world she wanted to eat-"
"Your wife?"
He shrugged.
"Or jewels. I don't know, I like meat, maybe she would like meat too."
"So who's the wife?"
She didn't sound very uninterested now.
"Well, not you, obviously, you hated being rich."
"I hated the people I was rich with."
"I'm pretty cool, right? You could handle being rich with me."
"Sure, Sokka. Just get me a betrothal necklace, and it's official." She rolled her eyes, an impressive feat, and rolled over before he could see her blush.
Man, I crammed TWO blind references in there, that's impressive. I feel like this conversation might actually happen though – I think he would think it was so weird that she gave up her masses of wealth (heck, maybe they have had this conversation, I have no idea, I only remember the Kataang moments :P ).
