Sandy sat curled up near the edge of the couch reading a thick leather bound book. The rays of sunlight started to become weaker as the day grew older and the sun began to set. She started to sequent as the light around her dissipated. After a moment she rubbed her eyes and then turned on the small stained glass lamp on the end table next to her. Sandy smiled as her vision returned to normal and she turned to the next page of her book.
The female squirrel barely flinched as the front door behind her opened, causing a large gust of cold air to enter the living room she currently occupied; she just continued reading even as the same door was slammed shut. She had been expecting Shadow for the past half-hour, and he was likely late due to the bitter winter storm that had been battering the city the past 24 hours.
A shiver overtook Sandy's body for a moment as the chill of the outside temperature finally hit her. She was so distracted by the icy bite to her body that she jumped a little as Shadow sat down next to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. She settled quickly and pasted him a mostly embarrassed glance before returning her eyes to her reading marital.
"You're warm." He stated while pulling closer to her and kisses her slightly exposed collar bone. She grimaced slightly at his cold touch, but couldn't help but grin because of his attention. She let out a slight giggle as the book in front of her became less importance, but she wasn't about to let him know that just yet.
"If only you were warm too." She teased while playfully scooting her body away from him. She didn't have far to move before she came to a stop at the arm of the couch. Not to her surprise Shadow kept his grip on her and followed her moment almost as quick as she made them. She went back to looking at her book, or to be more accurate pretending to read it.
Shadow reached his left arm up and let his fingers trickle over her chin and then down her neck. Sandy was a bit taken aback at his actions. This wasn't his usual foreplay. She looked down at his face, while his head rested on her shoulder and looked up at her.
"I'm sorry." Shadow stated plainly.
"Sorry for what?" Sandy questioned with a hint of worry in her voice.
"I keep forgetting how lucky I am to be with you." The black hedgehog said as he started to pet her face again.
Sandy pulled her head back in confusion and then peered at him with more than a few questions on her mind. She placed a hand on his forehead and found no fever, and then when to feel his pulse on his neck. Everything checked out, so she still glared at him in disbelief. "Who are ya?" She asked while still looking him over critically. "Where is my husband?" She then asked with a smirk.
"Stop it." He ordered while looking more than a little uncomfortable while cuddling closer to her.
Sandy placed a hand on his head and started to pet him as she started to laugh. "What's up with you, hun?" She questioned. "You're never this sappy." She kissed his forehead while pulling the rest of her body closer to his.
"Is everyone ok?" The female asked as she played with the quills on the back of his head.
"Yes." He quickly answered and nudged his head closer into her.
"Then-" She started before he cut her off.
"Vincent at work; His wife filed for divorce." He breathed hastily and then went silent.
Sandy giggled again, only now she felt a little guilty about it. "Come on, shug." She caressed both of his checks before bring him close to her face for a kiss. "That ain't us, and won't ever be…" She pressed her open mouth against his eagerly before pulling away abruptly and looking at him seriously. "Unless you cheated on me…" Then and evil grin took over Sandy's face. "But in that case you'd both be dead, so no need for divorce!" She giggled while quickly kissing him again.
As Sandy tried to pull back from their last kiss, but Shadow grabbed the fur on the back of her head and pulled her back for another kiss… and then another. She had to push her hands against his chest to break free from his lips grasps, so she could take a few quick gasps of air.
Shadow was now lying on his back on the couch as Sandy held herself up above him with her arms. She gave him a stern look for a moment before lightening her mood and smirking as she let her body fall on top of his. She let her face cuddle in the nook of his neck. "I love you and trust you, Shadow." She whispered and she let her hand tickled over his clothed torso. "I'm not worried, and you shouldn't be either." She breathed and then kissed his chin, only to return her attentions to playing with his stomach.
Shadow wrapped his arms around her waist again and tugged at her hips. "I know how you are, but I know how I a-" He stopped as she placed a signal finger over his lips and looked him in the eye.
"You are…" She paused and then nudged her forehead against his head. "Yer the man I love, and…" She let out a moan as let her hand drift down to his simi alert soldier. "Yer the only man I can ever love." Sandy pulled herself up a bit to kiss mouth while smiling.
After a few moments Shadow was finally able to pant and run his hands up over Sandy's head, as he took her image in. "Thank you." He kissed her again as he moved one of his free hands lower to her hip. "My love." They kissed again, before things got extra heavy~!
