The little girl ran as fast as she could. Tears streamed down her face. She had to get away though.
"Get back here you brat!" The voice of a man called. That only made the girl run faster. She saw an old abandoned shed and ran in. Her heart still racing. She a knocks over a lamp.
"Hey what's going on back here!?" A woman said as she drew the flaps of a tent. This confused the girl. She entered form a door but now the shed was a tent. The woman noticed the little tan girl standing clearly terrified. Her dark hair a mess
"How did you get back here?" The lady asked. Her voice soft
"I-l was running away." The girl sniffled." From my mama's mean boyfriend. He hits me. He said he was gonna hit me harder then ever so I ran into the woods and ended up here."
The lady crouches down to the girls level. "What's your name kid?" The lady asks
"My.. name is Luz."
"Well Luz my name is Eda. you don't need to worry your safe now" Eda said Wiping the tears the from the girls eyes. Luz hugs Eda. Eda picks her up and they walk out of the tent. Luz blinks form the sudden light and looks around.
"Wow" she said.
Where did you get a child from Eda?" Asked a tiny demon.
"This is Luz. Luz this is king" Eda said setting Luz down on the table. "Now let's see" Eda ducks under the table. And comes back with a white and purple short sleeved hoodie with cat ears. Eda puts the hoodie on Luz even though it's to big for her. She also puts the hood up.
I love it! But why do I need to wear this?" Luz asked.
"Because who knows what people will do when they see your human." Eda explained.
"Oh, but aren't you a human?" Luz questioned.
"No dear child I'm not like you." Eda said. She pulled back her orange hair to reveal pointy ears. I'm Eda the owl lady the most powerful witch on the boiling isles!" She draws a spell circle and a ball of light appears."
"Wow so cool!" Luz exclaimed
"Alright let's go." Eda said. She puts her stuff on the table into cloth and throws it over her shoulder. She then summons her staff "alright kid come here" Luz crawled over to Eda and Eda picks her up. "Hold on tight!" Eda positions the staff ready for take off. King climbs aboard and they shoot into the sky. Luz laughs and sequels the entire time. They soon landed in front of a house.
"Hoot hoot hi Eda!" A large owl tube said when they approach.
"Your very annoying" Luz stated proudly. Eda and king laugh at this.
They go in the house.
"Luz welcome to the owl house" Eda said with a gesture of her arm."
Wow this place is so cool!" Luz said. She twirls around the living room taking in the sights.
"Alright kiddo let's clean you up" Eda said. She scoops up Luz and takes her upstairs. She then goes to the bathroom and washes the little girls face and brushes her hair." Eda then finds Luz new pair of clothes. Back down stairs Luz runs around with king. Eda didn't know why but she felt a connection with the girl and the girl seemed to trust her.
"Eda?" Luz asked. She climbed into her lap. "I don't wanna go home."
"Don't worry kid" Eda said. " you don't have too. You'll stay here with me and king"
"Ok." Luz yawned. But will you tell my mama that I'm ok."
"Of course"
Eda cleans out a room and sets a bed up for Luz that consists of blankets and pillows. She's get Luz an actual bed. Once Luz was asleep with king snuggled up with her Eda went down stairs and sat at the table. she began writing a note to Luz's mother.
Dear Luz's mother
Luz wants you to know she is safe with me. I'll take good care of her. But I want you to know that your boyfriend hit her. I'll send you updates about your daughter.

Eda folds up the letter and puts it in an envelope. She gives it to her pailsman Owlbert. "Take this letter and drop it on the front doorstep of the closet house to the shed." Eda said. The little owl hoots a response
2 years later
"Alright guys run wild." Eda said waving king and Luz off. They run into the play ground. King goes for the slide while Luz just spins around. Luz later notices a girl with brown hair standing by herself besides the swings. So she decides to go over.
"Hi!" Luz greeted happily.
"Hi" the girl said shyly.
"My names Luz what's yours?" She asked.
"I'm Amity"
"Nice to meet you Amity! Wanna play?" Luz asked extending her hand.
"Sure!" Amity said. She takes Luz's hand and the two run around together. They go down the slide with king. Luz teaches Amity how to swing.
"Look Amity a flower!" Luz points out. She goes over and picks the flower. She goes back to Amity and puts it behind her ear. "There now your even prettier!"
"Thank you Luz." Amity said. The two were about to continue playing when a woman came up and grabbed Amitys arm.
"Amity what did I tell you about playing with low life's!" The woman scolded. " come on we are leaving." She started pulling Amity away.
"No mom please no! She's my friend!" Amity cried trying to pull away from her mother. Eventually she gives up struggling. She looks at Luz one more time. "Bye Luz"
"Bye Amity." Luz said sadly.
Come on kid time to go." Eda said form behind.
"Ok Eda!" Luz said she turned and started walking back with Eda.
"So did you have fun?" Eda asked.
Yeah! I made a friend. Luz chirped "Her name is Amity. Will you tell my mom about it!" She asked
"Sure kiddo" Eda said ruffling Luz's hair. Ever once in a while she writes to Luz's mother. But every time owlbert went to deliver the letter he never found one written back

Today I took Luz to the park. She made a friend. And wanted me to tell you about it. She's gotten so big. She lost front tooth so she now has a gap Tooth smile. Luz sends you lots of love and this drawing

Well that's the frist chapter done! I know I've started a lot of other stories like lost sister and the girl next to door. I want you to know Ihaven't forgotten about them it's just taking a long time to form the story. Like always I hope you enjoy this cringe
