Alyssa walked into Emma's ICU room. Emma was just taken off life support and had only a few minutes to live. She had been fighting for life after getting pinned in a door by her abusive parents. Emma suffered many back and neck injuries. The doctors thought she would make it and be permanently paralyzed from the neck down. She had severe complications from her last surgery. Uncontrollable vomiting, seizures, collapsed lungs. Alyssa couldn't take seeing her wife be on life support anymore. She had to make the difficult decision to take her off life support.
Alyssa walked over to Emma and grabbed her hand for the last time. "Emma, The last time we kissed each other was an hour before you got hurt," Alyssa said. She then proceeded to sing "Dance with you" the song they sang when they decided to go to the prom together.
The EKG flatlined and Emma stopped breathing.
