AN: Obviously I don't own any familiar characters, but I so wish I did. OC's are mine. Just a random story that came to my mind, I'd appreciate any and all feedback!
Ophelia was the light of their eyes, their third miracle child. Malcolm and Matthew's little sister, Minerva and Albus' daughter. Watching her grow, they were all proud with each accomplishment. First words at 10 months old, first steps at 18 months. Her first use of magic at four years old, when she enchanted her mobile above the bed. There was so much light behind those green eyes, so much happiness in her life.
The school year was spent at Hogwarts, splitting time between the Headmasters office and her mother's transfiguration classroom. Occasionally the other teachers would watch her and teach Ophelia magic. Summers were spent at the Scotland manor. Ophelia would run around the yard with brown wavy hair cascading down her back, climb trees with the help of her brothers, and read as many books as she could get her hands on.
On her eleventh birthday, Ophelia got her Hogwarts letter, excitement coarse through her body. She didn't rest for a moment as she went through Diagon Alley shopping for school. What stumped her and Minerva both was what Ollivander said when she found her wand, "with the power behind this wand you will do great things, terrible or good won't be as easy an answer as you think." Ophelia thought he was being weird, but Minerva's thoughts became frightened at the thought of her daughter being evil.
All was soon forgotten when Ophelia was sorted into Gryffindor. Her first four years flew by. An exceptional student in each subject, a Quidditch star, admired by all including Slytherins. As her fifth year came along, Ophelia started to spend time with a Slytherin boy in her year, Tom Riddle. They quickly became the most talked about couple in the school, causing mischief while being the brightest students in the whole school, much to Ophelia's parents dismay. Her relationship with Tom caused Ophelia's relationship with her parents to deteriorate faster than anyone could say Quidditch.
"Ophelia I am forbidding you from seeing Riddle, he has bad intentions, he cannot be trusted." Mcgonagall spat after finding her daughter making out with Riddle.
" Gosh Mum you can be so blinded sometimes, just because he is a slytherin doesn't make him evil!" Ophelia responded, anger taking over her.
"Never once did I say he was evil, but certainly he is a bad influence. Look at you, caught out past curfew, fraternizing with a student! You cannot see him again and that is FINAL." Minerva replied, reaching her own height of anger.
"ENOUGH, both of you." Dumbledore shouted, forcing both to look at him. "Riddle is a bad influence Ophelia, and we don't just say that because he is a slytherin. We know things that you simply do not, because of this we fear his interest in you may be motivated by something else." he finished.
"Oh that's just like both of you! Assuming that a guy could not be interested in me lest it be because of who my parents are." Ophelia rolled her eyes as she responded to the claim she'd heard so many times before.
"My dear, that is not what we mean, just tha-" Dumbledore started but was cut off by his daughter.
"Save it, this conversation is over and since I know where you stand, let me tell you where I do. I will continue to pursue my relationship with Tom. I have till this day, never done anything to make you question my judgement and don't see why you should now. You both may be wiser and older, but you don't understand a thing about your students. If anyone turns evil it's likely because of your prejudices and lack of empathy. Until you can learn to accept my relationship, I suggest we keep our distance here." Ophelia stated before storming out of the headmasters office, but before she could leave, her mother called out "Detention Miss. Dumbledore, with Mr. Filch for a month, and you can tell Mr. Riddle he will be serving detention with me.
Ophelia turned and responded "Yes Professor Mcgongall."
