Living away from his parents had became a normal thing for BoBoiBoy to experience. He remembered he once let out of his thoughts towards his friends and telling them about them not being able to come to the earth day celebration. The absence of family member to see him performing on stage, was another whole level of sadness and loneliness compare to the usual family yearning hour he had at home, yet he overcomes it. And now, he's used to it.
Gopal who claimed himself as his best friend sometimes wonders, how could his mate becoming so strong in handling the missing parents hours, especially since once every while the elemental hero opens up to him, telling that he was really close with his father and other kind of activities he did with them before permanently moved to Pulau Rintis and lives with Tok Aba. He couldn't really imagine, what would he feel for not being able to meet his loved parents for more than a year, even though he joined TAPOPS and do missions together, but he got to meet his parents once in few months, unlike BoBoiBoy.
As he enjoyed the beverage the orange dino-capped boy has prepare for him, the indian boy asked about his intriguing thoughts, fortunately it wasn't on the busy hour so BoBoiBoy could relax and speak if he wants to open up.
"What else can i tell you about it, Gopal... My dad works as an ambassador, the details are classified of course." The elemental hero answered as he wiped the mug. "He's doing his best to maintain peace and everyone's safety."
Little Gopal knew about BoBoiBoy's backstory and family, but he respects that. Once he knew his best friend's old man is an ambassador, he shut his questions up and tries to cheer the sad boy. Of course, he didn't want to ask about anything related to that since, politics. The molecular wielder responded,
"True BoBoiBoy. Imagine if he could not negotiate and maintain the relationship with the government of the other country he lives in, I don't know what could happen to Malaysia now!"
"Hahaha, yeah, maintaining peace on another place as a representation from somewhere else... is a bit challenging."
"Right..."
A moment of silence filled the time that keeps ticking. There was still something that bugs him.
"You know BoBoiBoy, on that time, the celebration of earth day..."
BoBoiBoy turned his head towards the boy in tan.
"Your parents were sending you a postcard right? Why didn't they just, call you back then? We live in the era of technology, you know?"
The Dino-cap boy looked up and chuckled softly. He saw the blue sky with fluffy ball of clouds floating away blew by the wind. Technology huh? he thought, that word reminisces something. It takes fractions of a minute until the boy responded to Gopal's question.
"He... always move from one place to another. The line was not strong enough most of the times so we prefer to communicate with postcards instead." He took a pause. "Once I received a call from him, it's always at night. I could barely understand what he was saying most of the times and he wouldn't let me sleep. Man..."
Gopal laughed along with his best friend as he take another sip of his ice blended chocolate BoBoiBoy made for him previously.
"Maybe timezone difference. That could be the reason."
"Yeah..."
"Maybe he's somewhere in Europe or America! Usually it's still early morning or day time there when we reach night time here..." assumed Gopal as he impersonate his favourite character from his favourite show, Detective Konon. BoBoiBoy admitted, Gopal's observation and analysis are into logic most of the times. Maybe math is just not his forte, the orange boy thought. But on this case, he could not say anything further, nor confirm, nor deny. The only word he could say to respond the older boy's statement is,
"... maybe."
Another silence fills the atmosphere.
"Dey, you got to meet everyone's family but we never get to know yours. Is he for real could not take a leave for like— a week or so?"
BoBoiBoy took a breathe. He smiled, "Well... I don't know." He said. "He tried to take annual leave, several times even, but I guess it's just not our luck. I grew up with that."
"What kind of a government is that? Not giving the workers there annual leave?" Gopal questioned. BoBoiBoy could only shrug.
"If we're lucky enough, probably our path will cross with him someday when we're doing missions." Said BoBoiBoy as he smiled.
"Mission?" Gopal repeated the word.
BoBoiBoy who just realized on what he just say before, was worried that Gopal would find out. He personally didn't want to brag out about it in detail, he just doesn't want to. He didn't want to get compared with anyone, including with his own father.
"You mean, we got to save earth someday on another country and meet your dad, that's what you mean?" Gopal continued.
Thankfully, BoBoiBoy is good in being vague. Gopal never considered about space ambassador, but the scenario Gopal thought, is not something impossible to happen either. The elemental hero closed his eyes and hummed, letting the soft breeze of South-East Asia summer flows between his strands of hair.
"Could be," He said with a convincing smile.
"We never know."
