Summary: Justin catches Alex sneaking home drunk and it turns out she had a pretty crazy night that she probably won't remember in the morning.

A/N: This is my first fanfiction on this site, and my first Wizards fanfic!

I do not own Wizards Of Waverly Place.

It was around 1:30 in the morning when Justin Russo started to doze off on the couch in their family room.

The TV was playing a vhs tape that Justin had made of the hot weather girl. He had a guilty pleasure of sneaking down after everyone went to bed, and playing the tape on the TV.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, he heard what sounded like a chair falling over in the sub station below him.

He jumped up quickly, startled by the noise. No one was supposed to be down there.

He goes over to the kitchen and grabs a large knife, just incase, before tip-toeing down the stairs to peer into the dark sandwich shop below.

He squints but doesn't see anyone, and climbs down a few more stairs.

Still, nothing.

He stands there for a just a few more seconds until he hears... giggling?

Justin exhales and climbs down the rest of the stairs. He puts the large kitchen knife down on the nearest table. He could recognize that laugh anywhere.

He watches as his sister stumbles out of the subway car, almost tripping over the step and grabbing onto the wall to steady herself before she could topple over.

"Alex?" Justin says, "What are you doing down here, you startled me!"

Alex looks over to Justin, a goofy look was plastered on her face.

"Justin?! Wha- I wahsn't doin aaannything" The high school senior slurred with her eyes unfocused and a crooked grin on her face.

"Why do you look like that?" Justin asked bluntly.

Alex starts laughing, and stumbles on over, closer to her brother.

"Why you askin'me, youuve got too many eyes righ now" Alex giggles drunkenly before hiccuping and pointing at her older brothers face.

Justin shakes his head "you snuck out didn't you".

"It's not really sneakin, I just kinda left"

Justin rolls his eyes, and crinkles his nose at the whiff of alcohol he just got from her.

"Alex how much have you had to drink?" He asks, looking at his completely wasted little sister.

She looks down at her hands like she was counting with her fingers then looks back up at him blankly.

"I don know, like seven, or something, so probly twelve" She shrugs but holds up nine fingers.

Justin looks at her shocked, before telling her that she should get to bed.

"Kay" Alex hiccups again before lowering herself to the ground to lay down.

"No, Alex get off of the floor, you know we only sweep once a year" Justin says.

Alex sprawls out on the ground.

"I can't get up now it's too wavy in here 'n my brains swimming" She tells him.

"Wavy? Your brains swimming? What are you talking about?" Justin asks, confused.

Alex looks up at him like he's the one talking crazy.

"It's all willy wonka in here".

"You mean willy wonky?" Justin chuckles, "You're blasted".

"Nooo Idon want chocolate" She garbles.

"Alright, come on" He says while grabbing her arms and pulling the girl off of the ground.

"Weeee!" She sings as she's lifted off of the ground until she stumbles forward into Justin's chest, almost knocking her back down, but he steadies her once again.

He looks down at her face, and she looks completely out of it. He wonders if she had anything else at the party, well, other than seven, or nine... or twelve drinks.

"Alex how did you get home?" Justin asks curiously. The girl could barely stand let alone walk several blocks home from a party, especially by herself.

Oh god. He hoped she wasn't by herself. He'd only heard about what happens to girls who are drunk and alone in the heart of New York City, and wouldn't know what to do with himself if something had happened to Alex.

She looks down at herself, then looks to the door, and around the whole room until her droopy gaze lands back on Justin.

"I think umm... don't rember" She slurs, eyes starting to water.

Justin sighs, there was no point in lecturing her about how dangerous it is for her to parade around the city in the middle of the night so intoxicated. She wouldn't remember it in the morning anyway, and she looked like she could start crying at any given moment; and Justin did not want to deal with a sad drunk on top of everything.

"Okay, it's okay, but we should really get you up to bed now. You're gonna need the rest with how you're going to be feeling tomorrow" He tells her, highly anticipating having to bring her pain killers throughout the day and cover for her incase their parents asked questions.

"Jusstinnn" Alex groans "I gotta peeee".

"Okay, let's just go-" he starts trying to lead her up the stairs.

"No I gonna go noww!" She stumbles a few steps over, grabbing the mop bucket and starts unbuttoning her jeans.

"Wha- Alex no!" Justin gasps, pulling her away from the bucket, "What are you doing?!"

"Uh- Peeing?" she says obviously, with a twinge of innocence in her voice.

"Not in our mop bucket!" Justin says, dragging her to the substation bathroom behind the stairs.

"It's not like we use it" She mumbles.

He closes the door behind them and turns his body to face the wall as she makes her way over to the toilet in the corner.

He didn't trust her to be in there alone right now.

Alex giggles as she fumbles with the zipper of her jeans before pulling them down and sitting down onto the toilet seat, "Justin you're such a girl".

Justin stood at the other side of the small bathroom, facing the wall, but almost turned around when he heard her say that.

"What?"

"Only girls go into the bathrooms together at parties" she snickers, "and boyyysss would think it's funny to piss inna bucket".

"Well, I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't fall in" Justin jokes, he could just sense her eye roll at that.

Justin hears her struggle to pull her skinny jeans back up and flush the toilet.

"I'b dun" She says, shuffling to the door, almost opening it up into her face.

Justin brings her over to the stairs, which she catches her toe under the first step, causing her body to lurch foreword and land on top of the other steps.

She laughs loudly at this but is quickly interrupted by Justin's "Shhh! Dont wake up mom and dad".

Alex puts her hand over her mouth to muffle her laughter.

She grasps the railing with her other hand firmly, and pushed herself up, swaying at the sudden change of height.

"Oh, did I fall again? Don't remember that." She says hazily.

Again? Justin sighs realizing this was useless.

"Alex get on my back" He says, turning around and lowering himself down to allow Alex to get carried up the stairs.

"What? Ooh! Like a piggy back ride" she giggles and climbs onto her older brother, wrapping her arms loosely around his neck.

He wraps his arms under her thighs for support and starts climbing up the stairs.

He feels her rest her head against his.

"When'd we get a escalator?" She asks.

"Huh?" Justin questions, although he shouldn't question anything she was saying right now, she had no idea what she was even talking about.

"The floor" she giggles drunkenly once again, "Its moving- up".

Justin doesn't say anything and continues up the steps.

"Justin yourrrlike uh camel" She slurs into his ear. "I feel like a hump full-a water righnow" she adds.

"Except you're full of beer and vodka" Justin teases.

Alex sits up a bit at that comment.

"Heyy" she says hitting his chest lightly, "and tequila!"

"Great." Justin frowns.

When Justin reaches the top step in the living room he lowers Alex to the ground and she hops off.

"Thank ya bruva" She says, patting him on the back, before stumbling forward and hitting the green lamp with her arm, knocking it down.

Justin catches it right before it hits the ground.

"Hmm, maybe you should've stuck with baseball" Alex says nonchalantly while opening the fridge and pulling out a cold slice of pizza.

After she takes a bite she chews it for a bit before spitting it out onto the counter and setting down the rest of the slice.

"Bla! I'v not eben humgry. I don't want that" She says disgusted, and makes her way over to the couch where Justin was, waiting for her to be finished with whatever she was gonna do.

She plops down onto the couch right as he stood up to clean up her mess.

"Alex, I'm tired" He says, while picking up her half chewed pizza spit with a napkin and tossing it in the trash.

"So?" she replies, "Gotta bed, no onestoppin' ya".

"Alex" He says assertively.

"What?" She asks, clearly not getting the hint that she needs to go to bed too.

"Come on, it's late" He says grabbing her wrist again and bringing her to the spiral staircase.

"Oooh, we're going for a walk" She says.

After another long while of struggling to get up the second flight of stairs, Justin brings Alex to her bedroom where she jumps onto her bed and struggles to take off her boots.

She looks up at Justin standing awkwardly in her doorway. He closes the door and leans against it, he didn't want their parents to wake up because of their talking.

He shuts his eyes once he sees her standing up and starting to take off her pants, but opens them quickly when he hears a thud from the center of her room.

He opens his eyes to see that Alex had fallen onto the floor, she was lifting herself up slowly, grumbling about something. Her jeans twisted up at her ankles.

"Alex do you need help?" Justin asks, looking at her as she tugged at the denim bunched up at her feet.

"No- I'm good-" she says trying to stand up again, but the fabric still at her ankles causes her to fall over again.

"Justin tellmy panss stop uh tacking me" Alex hiccups, looking up at him with her eyes half closed.

Justin shook his head at how drunk his sister was and came towards his her, crouching down next to her and sliding the pants over her feet easily.

"I loosened them for you" Alex huffed. Even in her blacked out state she couldn't admit that she couldn't do something that Justin could.

Justin chuckled.

"Where are your pajamas?" he asks looking around the room.

"My 'jamas? I dunno. Sumwere round 'ere" She slurs while pulling off her shirt.

Justin's eyes widen and he looks away quickly when he sees that she wasn't wearing a bra.

"Alex! What are you doing, why aren't you wearing a bra?" He gasps, tossing a yellow 'Punk House' shirt at her "Put this on."

Alex looks down blankly.

"Oh that's weird. I was wearin one when I left" She says, then giggles and shrugs before fumbling with the t-shirt and pulling it over her head.

Justin furrows his brows in concern, what did she do tonight?

Suddenly a pair of pajama pants leap at her, and she flinches her head back, hitting it on her night stand in the process.

"Ow!"

"Sorry!" Justin gasps, "Are you okay?".

"Yea, the flying pants kicked me now I gotta head bump" She tells him.

"Okay, just put on the pants please and get to bed" Justin says, it was past 2 in the morning now and he had the opening shift in the substation the next morning.

Alex frowns at him, but starts to put them on.

"Yuh know that Felix guy in your delinquent class?" Alex asks after a few moments of silence, smirking wildly.

"... yeah..?" Justin hesitates.

"Well, he likes me right?" She looks up at Justin nervously.

"Isn't that obvious?... Alex what do you want?" Justin didn't get what she was hinting this time.

"Sex" She said boldly.

"Oh, Uhh" Justin stutters awkwardly.

"Isn't being horny a symptom of being drunk? Cuz like erryone gets horny." Alex says.

"Alex, it's not a 'symptom', it's more like a side effect I guess." Justin tells her.

"Well, is a cough a symptom of having a cold?" Alex asks.

"...Yeah" Justin says.

"So there you have it" Alex says, flailing onto her bed and sprawling out on top of the comforter.

"Alex I think you should just get some rest" Justin says.

"So, do you have his number?" Alex asks, sitting up.

"Alex Im not gonna let you hook up with one of my students just because you're drunk and horny" He tells her.

"Whyyyy" She whines "He at leass cares about me it's better than hookin' up with those random boys at the party who wanted to see my boobs— oh that's where my bra went".

Justin was taken aback by this- they wanted to see what?

"...Uh oh" Alex says suddenly putting her hand over her stomach, her face contorts, and her brows furrow upwards. She looks to her brother in panic.

Justin knew what was about to happen so he grabs her and starts to lead her to the bathroom.

"I'b gunna be sick" She says guiltily.

"I know, It's okay" He says.

Once they get to the bathroom Justin closes the door behind them and Alex slumps to the floor infront of the toilet, her body hunched over the bowl.

Justin kneels down next to her, and holds back her hair as she vomits into the toilet.

He rubs her back soothingly as she retches up the second and, wait... third time, until she looks over to him teary-eyed and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.

"All done?" He asks her as she leans against him.

"Wait... one more" she says lazily as she sits back up, hurling into the bowl one last time before collapsing back onto her brother.

"Now done" She slurs as Justin pats her on the shoulder.

"Can't I just sleep here?" She asks, with her eyes closed.

"No Alex, you'd thank me tomorrow if I got you to your bed... now come on, it's late. You should brush your teeth and get to sleep". Justin says.

"Time isn't real" She says.

"What?" Justin asks.

"Time doesn't exist. We're wizards, it doesn't have to be so late. Remember Puerto Rico? Hate to bring up that train wreck of a vacation but 3 days went by in 2 minutes" She tells him.

"Alex, I don't think-" Justin starts but at the same time Alex is already saying a spell.

"McReary—"

"Alex! No that's not the right spell!" Justin says, realizing she was doing the do-over spell.

"Time-Reary" She finishes.

Suddenly everything rewinds and she's hurling into the toilet once again.

Justin's rubbing her back, and when she's done throwing up for the second time, she looks at him with tear filled eyes.

"I think I did it wrong" she says, and Justin nods, pulling her up from the ground.

Justin grabs a dixie cup, fills it with cold water and hands it to Alex, who had her hands gripped around the counter of the sink, keeping her balanced.

Rather than gargling the water, Alex just put the water into her mouth and let it trickle out, much of it drizzling down her chin and onto her shirt.

He grabs her toothbrush and gets it wet before applying toothpaste and handing it over to his intoxicated sister who takes it and lazily brushes it over her teeth, almost falling asleep a few times before spitting out the rest.

"Can I go-shleep now?" She slurs sleepily, looking at Justin with droopy eyes.

"Yeah" Justin says, but before he could start to help her to her room, she collapses into his arms with a groan.

"Hey, hey" Justin chuckles, tapping her shoulder, "You gotta make it at least to your room".

"Oh" Alex says standing up, a drunken smirk on her face.

"I think sum one put a magnet in my head" She says, on the walk back to her room.

"Why's that?" Justin asks huskily.

"Cause it wants the floor, feels like a bowling ball" she babbled.

Justin shook his head and walked her into her room, closing the door behind him.

He pulls the blankets back on her bed and lets her slip out of his grip onto the soft mattress, where she curls up and blinks sleepily with her heavy eyelids.

Justin pulls the covers back on top of his sister and smiles down at her sadly as she quickly drifts off.

Right as he was turning off the lights and about to open the door to leave he hears a small voice from across the room.

"Justin?" Alex calls out quietly, a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Whats up?" he asks softly, turning around to face Alex once again.

Her eyes were glassy and she looked up at her brother nervously. "Did you want to get me to bed so bad just so you could sleep with me?" she whispers.

Justin was taken aback. Why would she think that?

He steps closer to her and looks at her intensively.

"Alex, no, why would you- why would you even think that?" He asks flabbergasted.

Alex blinks, allowing a tear to fall down her cheek. "I'm too drunk, and you were so eager to get me to bed so I just thought that you-" Justin cuts off his deluded sister.

"Stop, Alex. I would never hurt you. You know that. I'm your brother, sure we taunt and tease eachother and make each others lives miserable sometimes, but that's what siblings do... Alex, I would never purposefully do anything that would hurt you or put you in harms way." He assured.

Alex sniffs, and Justin kneels down next to her wiping away a tear and brushes her hair out of her eyes.

"Why would you even think I would do something like that?" He whispers.

Alex shrugs "I don't know... I'm sorry, I'm just paranoid I guess".

She turns her body away from him, but he could tell that something was still bothering her. She said sorry. For what? Alex didn't apologize unless she absolutely had too. Something was wrong.

"Did something happen tonight?" He asks softly, somewhat afraid of the answer.

There was a few moments of silence until Alex spoke up.

"It's just... guys are pigs." She whispers. "They just use us for our bodies and don't give a shit about how we feel. They don't care about us".

Alex turns back towards Justin, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Not all guys" Justin says looking down at her.

Alex shakes her head. "That's why I asked you about Felix earlier" she says. "I didn't want to hook up with some random guy just for him to go brag to his friends. I don't want to just be a number to someone."

Justin nods. This makes sense, but what triggered this conversation? Why would she think that he would hurt her?

"Did someone hurt you?" He whispers, not knowing if that was too bold of him to say.

Alex flashes him a nervous look.

"Not really hurt. They just wanted more than what I was willing to give them" She murmurs, looking down at her blanket.

Justin narrows his eyes at her.

Alex sighs.

"I was dancing with these guys a few years older than me and then I guess I blacked out. I don't remember what happened or how I got there, but the next thing I remember is being alone in a bedroom with one of the guys on top of me, with my chest fully exposed" she explained.

Justin clenched his fists, if this man forced his little sister to do anything she didn't want, he would be as good as dead.

"Alex, I swear if he hurt you I'll-" Justin says through gritted teeth, but Alex cuts him off with a snicker.

"Oh he tried- and I was so hammered that I was fine with the making out and the 'fondling' until he put his hands down my pants and I was suddenly hit with a wave of reality and realized that I didn't want to do this" she continued, still slurring slightly.

Justin looked at his sister intently, although he didn't want to picture his baby sister hooking up with anyone, he needed to know what this guy did to make her so upset.

"So I told him to stop, and he got mad. Called me a slut, and a tease; but he got off of me anyway and I got up to go look for my shirt. He grabbed me and said that I couldn't just give him a hard on and leave so I kneed him in the balls and told him I'm a minor" She said, smirking at the end.

Justin widened his eyes at that.

"You really kneed him in the nuts?" He asked, astonished.

Alex nods, proud of herself.

"You should've seen the look on his face when I told him I'm 17" She giggled.

"But— you turned 18 last week" Justin says.

"He doesn't need to know that" Alex shrugged.

Justin smiled, she sure wasn't book smart, but he did have to give her credit for her street smarts.

"I'm proud of you Alex" He says looking down at her. She had her eyes closed and her hair laid messily around her face.

She opened her eyes a little at his comment.

"Why— I'm completely wasted, don't remember half of what happened tonight, probably won't remember any of this, and am keeping you up hours past your bedtime when I know you have to get up early for work tomorrow" She says lazily.

"No" Justin chuckled, although everything she said was true, "You stood up for yourself. A lot of people can't do that".

Alex looks up at him "Justin you knowww that I am the queen of getting what I want" She grins and closes her eyes once again.

Justin rolls his eyes and looks down at his exhausted sister for a minute before kissing her on the forehead and standing up to go to his own room until he hears her giggling once again.

"That's silly Justin" She giggles with her eyes still closed.

"What?" Justin asks.

Alex yawns and settles down into her pillow.

"I've never heard of forehead lips" She says, half asleep.

Justin should've been surprised at her drunken comment. He should've just laughed, ruffled her hair and left. But for some reason he found himself inching closer to his sisters flushed and sleepy face. He planted his lips gently onto hers, for one, two... three seconds before pulling away and looking back down at her.

With the lack of reaction, and her breathing slowed and heavy, Justin assumed she had already fallen asleep, a small smile was left on her face.

He smiled sadly at her, realizing that she didn't need him as much as she once did anymore.

His whole life had been spent fixing the messes she got herself into, but he didn't mind. There was a part of him that actually liked it.

Tonight was a reminder that she was growing up. She didn't need him to come save her. She had saved herself all on her own.

Justin knew that some day she wouldn't need him for every single mistake, but he still promised himself that he would always, always have her back just in case.

He would always be her protector.
