A/N: Hi! I'm .Goddess and this is my story! This is my first fanfiction that I've ever posted so please go easy on me. (I have updated the format so it's easier to read). This story is set after the Blood Of Olympus and after The Avengers movie. Anything you recognise belongs to Stan Lee and Rick Riordan (and at one point Derek Landy *wink, wink*). Hope you like it!
Percy thought that after the Giant War, everything would go back to normal. He would go to college in New Rome with Annabeth, try not to flunk out, and go about the rest of his life.
He never would have expected the government to come after him.
But in all truth?
He should've.
Leo POV:
All hell broke loose in the most unexpected place. Annabeth, Percy, Hazel and Leo were in New York together having a picnic to celebrate the start of summer. Calypso, Frank, Piper, Jason and Nico were coming to meet them later, but for then the demigods were alone.
"Hey, Water Boy, you've never told us what's up with the blue food." Leo said to Percy as he watched him devour his seventh blue cookie. Percy looked up as Annabeth snorted and Hazel looked at him as if to say 'Leo, can't you ever have a normal conversation?'. Leo just smirked at her and turned to Percy for his answer.
Percy sighed. "Long story short, my old step-father told my mother that blue food didn't exist, so she went out of her way to prove him wrong."
"As in Paul?" questioned Hazel. Annabeth shook her head.
"Gabe Ugliano," she answered.
Percy cracked a grin as he glanced around jokingly to see if anyone was watching.
"I called him Smelly Gabe." He whispered conspiratorially. The others burst out laughing, but Leo noticed Annabeth's was a bit forced. He wondered why that was as Annabeth left out a last little chuckle and looked at them. Still smiling, she said in Ancient Greek:
"Don't react, but we're being watched. There's four of them, all mortals, watching us. One on our left, one in front and behind and one on our right. No, don't look," she told Leo as he turned to look around, "anyway, our plan is this. Pack up the picnic and split up. Percy and I will go left, and you two go right. Pretend that we're leaving and act natural." Annabeth paused and glanced left and right, "React like I just told a joke." She whispered as if she had just said the naughtiest thing in the world. True to her request, Percy and Hazel started laughing while Leo shook his head grinning. But his grin wasn't fake. He hadn't noticed the mortals surrounding him, but it took an incredible actor for Annabeth to do what she was doing. Leo was grudgingly impressed.
Hazel looked at her watch and said in English:
"Well, Repair Boy and I better get going." Leo nodded and started getting up. Everyone said their goodbyes, with Annabeth pinching his arm when she hugged him as a reminder of her plan.
"Bye Water Boy, bye Wise Girl!" yelled Leo, deliberately not using their real names as he and Hazel walked away. Percy put the finger up at him and Leo gladly returned it.
"See ya Repair Boy, See ya Misty!" yelled Percy. Hazel shook her head at her nickname, and they continued walking, at least until Leo heard the shout behind him and the call from Percy to come back.
When they saw the two lovebirds standing back-to-back, each with a long dart in their hand, Leo's demigod instincts kicked in. They ran to Percy and Annabeth, standing next to them as they awaited the attack.
Percy POV: *
Percy was expecting an attack as soon as Hazel and Leo walked away. He had noticed the mortals surrounding him, but he decided not to react until they did.
As he bent down to grab the blanket they had been sitting on he felt something come whooshing towards his neck. Quick as lightning, he stood up and caught the thing that had been launched at him. Turning it over in his hands, he realised that it was a tranquiliser dart.
"Percy?" he heard Annabeth whisper urgently. He looked over and noticed that she too was holding a similar dart in her hand. Percy's anger bubbled to the surface. How dare these mortals try and take his Wise Girl? Staring at the exact spot where he knew two of the mortals were hiding, he called out to Leo and Hazel to come back. A few moments later, they arrived, and assessing the situation they quickly placed themselves next to himself and Annabeth.
"You can come out, you know. We know where you all are." Annie called out to the park around them. She proceeded to point to the places where the mortals were hiding, while upon the four mortals coming out, Hazel grabbed Percy's arm and gasped. He turned to her and bent down to the younger girl's level.
"What is it?" he whispered.
"That-That's Captain America! He was around when I was… younger." She replied urgently, referring to the tall, buff man in the American flag suit. He decided that his name was Captain Spangles.
Percy frowned. The other three mortals around Captain Spangles included a man in a metal suit (Percy named him Tin Can Man), another man with a bow (Percy smirked when he thought of the name BowBow Siwa for him), and a red-haired woman in a black bodysuit (Flaming Justice he called her).
The emotions on the mortals faces ranged from shocked, to scared, to stone cold. Captain Spangles was just opening his mouth when Leo and Percy burst out laughing simultaneously. Annabeth and Hazel shared a look at their creepy unison while the mortals jumped at the sudden outburst of the two.
"What's so funny?" asked Tin Can Man, with slight indignation.
Leo snorted but Percy was the one that answered.
"Your superhero costumes! Hasn't anyone heard of jeans these days?" Hazel's snort was attempted to be covered up by a cough, but it didn't work. Flaming Justice and BowBow Siwa had tiny smiles on their faces while Captain Spangles blushed, and Tin Can Man turned red.
"Look kids, we don't want to do this but-" Captain Spangles was cut off by Annabeth.
"Excuse me Captain Spangles, but who are you calling kids?" She asked haughtily. Cap was caught off guard by her statement, but the one with the bow burst out laughing. Annabeth rounded on him and glared while Hazel retorted in her mean voice:
"What are you laughing at BowBow Siwa?"
The mortals were in shock at her comeback while Leo and Percy high-fived her.
"Ok, Barton, that is now your official nickname," smirked Tin Can Man. But before 'Barton' could say something, Flaming Justice sighed.
"This is not the time Stark!" she growled while still looking at the demigods. The men instantly sobered.
"What do you want?" asked Annabeth after a beat of silence.
"Perseus Achilles Jackson, you are wanted by S.H.I.E.L.D for questioning. You're going to need to come with us." Replied the woman, talking to Percy.
"Look people, I don't know who you are, but there is no way I'm going anywhere with you." Percy growled. The others nodded in agreement.
"Look, Perseus, this is your last chance. Come with us or we'll use force." When he didn't react Barton continued, "And we'll have to take your friends with us."
Percy's look instantly darkened, and the tension grew in the air.
"Do. Not. Threaten. My. Friends." He spat. When he didn't say anything else, the agents looked at each other and nodded.
Then they attacked.
Steve POV: *
Steve didn't know why he was there. The Avengers, minus Banner and Thor, had been tasked with bringing in a kid and any of his associates to S.H.I.E.L.D, and he didn't understand why. I mean, why would the Avengers, who had saved the world, have to do this sort of task? Steve suspected this mission from Fury was to stave off boredom, but he wasn't sure.
Anyway, the four teenagers sitting in front of him didn't seem that concerning until they switched languages.
"What language are they speaking?" he whispered to Natasha in his intercom. Her voice sounded annoyed as she replied with, "I'm not sure, I don't understand it. Some sort of Ancient European language I'm guessing?" Steve raised an eyebrow at that. There weren't many languages that Black Widow didn't know, and the fact that a couple of teenagers knew one that she didn't was very odd.
Suddenly, the teenagers stood up and the younger boy and girl said goodbye and left. Steve tensed, as this was a perfect opportunity for the agents to do something.
"I'm gonna dart them." Barton's voice crackled over the intercom. The others voiced their agreement and Steve watched as the two darts flew towards the teenagers. But then something extraordinary happened. Both of them somehow knew the darts were flying towards them, and they caught the projectiles.
Steve's mouth was open in shock as Stark said, "What the hell-"
How did they do that?
All they could do was watch in shock as the two called their friends back and they all formed a defensive circle. The blond called out to them to come out, pointing at where they all were.
Steve was having second thoughts about how innocent these kids were.
Time Skip (I might write it in later -_-)
Steve was starting to like them, he had to admit it. The witty banter, the nicknames, BowBow Siwa? He didn't know who it referred to, even so that was hilarious! But after Perseus declined going with them, they all looked at each other and nodded.
Then they attacked.
Percy POV: *
The agents attacked.
Tin Can Man flew to Leo and started attacking him with lasers coming out of his hands. BowBow Siwa started shooting arrows at Hazel, which she dodged easily, given her affinity with metals. Flaming Justice rushed Annabeth, producing two wicked hunting knives from her suit. Cap rushed Percy, and just as he was about to uncap Riptide, Annabeth yelled out in Ancient Greek,
"Don't use weapons or magic unless you absolutely have to! Try hand-to-hand first, we don't want to reveal our powers!"
Percy rolled his eyes in frustration, but he knew she was right. So, when the Cap threw his American shield at him, instead of moving out of the way, Percy just glared at its owner and caught it in one hand without moving an inch.
Spangles stopped dead in his tracks while Percy glanced at the weapon, assessing its weight. He looked back at the Cap's shocked face and saluted him mockingly before throwing the shield back at him, straight at his head.
The older man was so shocked, he didn't even try to stop the shield before it knocked him out. Percy ran over and picked up the weapon, but not before whispering a quick sorry to him.
Then he joined the fray.
Annabeth POV: *
Annabeth was making quick work of the 'Flaming Justice' (as Percy called her) in front of her. She had to admit, the older woman was very skilled in fighting, but even with no weapon Annabeth was much better than she was.
As she dodged a particularly savage strike from the red hair, the woman growled in frustration and lunged forward. Perfect. As Annabeth well knew, people made mistakes when their emotions got in the way. So, when she performed a rather sloppy strike, Annabeth took advantage and judo-flipped her. When Flaming Justice was on the ground, Annabeth muttered a quick sorry before she punched her in the nose.
The woman was instantly knocked out, and Annabeth punched her again for good measure before she heard a 'wow' above her. She looked up to see an impressed Percy smiling down at her, a certain American-flag shield in his hand. Annabeth wiped at her mouth and stood up, gesturing to the weapon in her boyfriend's hand.
"Where'd you get that from?" she asked cheekily. Percy smirked in return.
"Don't worry, I'll give it back." He replied, dodging her question. Percy glanced past her and his smile faded.
"What is it?" she asked, looking behind her.
Leo POV: *
If Leo was under any other circumstances, he would've thought the suit was cool.
As it was, that suit was currently trying to kidnap him, so it kind of ruined it.
Tin Can Man was just casually floating up in the air shooting lasers at Leo while he was busting his butt trying not to get incinerated. So, Leo thought of a plan.
"Hey, Tin Can Man!" taunted Leo, "Why don't you get down here and stop fighting like a coward!"
The visor on the helmet popped open and Stark's annoyed face stared down at him. Leo grinned back. He sighed and floated down to the ground and his visor went back down.
"Happy now?" he asked, sarcasm clearly in his voice.
"Very." Leo smirked. He ran toward Stark and before he could react, ran up behind him and grabbed his shoulder, just as Tin Can Man very stupidly decided to take that opportunity to fly into the air.
"Seriously, man!" Leo cried as they did a loop-di-loop, "Did you have to do that?"
"Get off me then!" Stark snapped back.
Leo rolled his eyes and pressed the button he had been looking for the whole flight. Suddenly, they stopped in mid-air and Stark said:
"Hey kid, what did you do to my suit?"
Leo cackled. He wasn't going to tell the man exactly what he did, but it involved a lot of wires and buttons. Essentially, he'd hacked the cool metal suit.
"Super McShizzle Suit, fly back to the park" he commanded it. A robotic voice voiced its agreement and off they flew, Stark streaming profanities about Leo the whole way there.
"Cool it, dude," Leo told him as they landed back at where they started, "Super McShizzle Suit, freeze and stay there for exactly sixty minutes. Do not move until that time is up. Also, turn off audio. Got me?"
"Yes, Bad Boy Supreme." Replied the voice.
Leo walked off to meet Percy and Annabeth, the sound of Stark's protests being cut off behind him.
As he was trying to find them, Annabeth ran toward him and grabbed his arm, pulling him back the way she'd come without a word.
"Woah Brainiac, slow down there! What's happening?"
Without missing a beat, Annabeth ducked down behind a bush, pulling Leo down with her. Without saying anything, she just pointed.
"Oh Hades…" he muttered.
Hazel POV: *
Hazel was getting tired. She'd been dodging this 'BowBow Siwa's' arrows for at least fifteen minutes now and it was getting very tiring, even with her being able to subtly misdirect them. The man called out to her,
"How are you not shot yet? Just give up Misty, I can see you're getting tired!"
Hazel shook her head, "Never!" she replied, albeit with a slight shake in her voice.
Unfortunately for Hazel, at that point Percy decided to yell out to her, running to come help. But with the sudden distraction, she found that an arrow had been shot into her leg. Percy stopped next to her and Hazel pulled out the arrow, glaring at the man in front of her and throwing the arrow to the ground. Noticing a sudden drowsiness, Hazel silently communicated with her friend next to her and ran off to the bushes where she noticed the others were hiding.
All she could do was watch as Percy used the shield that he had taken from Captain America to block the arrows being shot his way. Slowly but surely, he started gaining on the mortal, and the fear in Barton's eyes were clear that he knew it.
That was when things went wrong. Barton managed to hit Percy's arm with an arrow, but that wasn't the problem. Hazel knew for a fact they were drugged, so she wasn't surprised when he stumbled a tiny bit.
Captain America also decided to choose that moment to come stumbling into the clearing, going for Percy.
"Oh crap." Annabeth swore. She glanced back at Hazel and Leo. "You two, go and warn camp what's happening here. Get Nico, and Jason and tell them Code Green."
"But what about you?" asked Leo. Annabeth gave a shaky smile. She hugged Hazel and stood up.
"I'll be right behind you," she answered, "Now go!"
Hazel didn't want to, but she took Leo's arm and together they ran out of the park. They hailed a taxi, and when the driver asked where they wanted to go, she answered:
"Long Island."
Percy POV: *
Percy could tell the arrow was drugged. His movements were getting slightly sloppier, and a quiet haze was slowly surrounding his mind. But he pushed on in spite of it. He had to save his friends.
He sensed movement behind him and glanced over to just catch a glimpse of his girlfriend roundhouse kicking Captain Spangles in the face. He wasn't knocked out, but he would have a serious bruise.
Percy laughed and called out to her:
"That's my Wise Girl!"
He got a grin in return before he turned his attention back to the bow guy. Percy continued fighting for a few minutes before he heard a shout behind him. He whirled around, and Flaming Justice had a gun against Annabeth's head. Spangles was next to them, looking sheepish, like he actually cared that the girl in front of him was being threatened. He had barely noticed that Barton had stopped shooting as he glared at the woman in front of him.
"Percy," Annabeth started talking in Ancient Greek, "She's bluffing. This gun is called an ICER. It's an invention that Daedalus made for the government, its not an actual gun, it's a tranquiliser." Percy nodded as she continued speaking, "If they capture us, we're not dating okay? They can't know that. Also, my name is Bianca Solace if they ask. Do not, under any circumstances, tell them my name."
Percy grinned at her choice and nodded, but before he could say anything, Flaming Justice growled menacingly (though it didn't scare Percy).
"Stop speaking that infernal language! Perseus Jackson, if you don't come with us, I'm afraid that we'll have to take some drastic measures here." She gestured to the gun against Annabeth's head.
"You wouldn't." Percy said casually. Flaming Justice raised her eyebrow and moved her gun down to Annabeth's leg and shot. Two cries rang out, one in pain, one in rage as Percy watched the blue spread across her leg. Annabeth stumbled a little bit and started breaking out crying, yelling about how it was so unfair, she didn't know what was happening, etc. Percy knew she was playing the 'dumb blond' move, but it still hurt him to see her like that.
The agents on the other hand were very confused for a moment, and his girlfriend took that chance to run to him. When she got there, she hugged him and he whispered,
"Are you okay?"
She nodded, "I'll be fine. It's just a little tranquiliser."
"That tranquiliser was enough to knock out four grown men. How are you still standing?" Flaming Justice's incredulous voice called out to them.
Percy looked at Annabeth in question and she grimaced back at him.
"We have to give up. I'm not going to make it, and neither are you."
Percy nodded in grim determination. "Where are Misty and Repair Boy?"
"Safe. I told them to tell your cousins Code Green. They've gone to camp."
"It's just us then."
"Yep. If we go down Seaweed Brain, we go down together."
The two embraced until Barton shot a tranquiliser into both of their necks. They were still hugging even after they were dragged onto the Quinjet, knocked out cold.
