Sesshomaru's Ascension
He was sleeping on his bed when he felt a strange dream...yet this dream was more real than he ever thought...
"My son...you have grown yet you still haven't a good grasp of my belief of protecting a significant other from you, though that little girl named Rin is close enough.." a figure that seemed to have the features both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru combined.
"Father..Inutashio..." Sesshomaru trailed off.
"Yes my son. I am here in your dreams as I will give you a warning. Before you object, hear this: I have spoken with the shaman Omen and he has confirmed that a terrible war will plague the Feudal Era. Sides will be taken, bloodshed will insure and demons and humans alike will kill each other for supremacy over this land..." he explained.
"So why are you telling me this?" Sesshomaru asked, arms crossed.
"Because you are the only person with the will and the power to maintain some semblance of order while the bloodletting ensures. Your title as the Lord of the Western Lands will allow the demons to rally to your side."
"I'm guessing there's more you're telling me?"
"Indeed. In my visions with Omen, I have discovered that my other son -your half-brother Inuyasha- will be betrayed by his closest allies with no one but a human will be beside him. You must retrieve him and mend and establish bonds with him." Inutashio requested but Sesshomaru shook his head.
"Why should I? He is a half breed bastard! I am the only son you need! A pure blood!"
"Because he is the key to the peace that you will bring in my vision. However you will need his assistance. You may have the lordship but you will need to have someone to enforce it, who better than your brother to do it for you? Besides, he is also the keystone for the events that will later play out in the future. I ask that you allow him to return to you. Inuyasha will still retain his title as Prince but you are superior to him. You both will be satisfied and if I know you Sesshomaru and I do, you will be pleased knowing that your rank is higher than that of your brother."
"Allow Inuyasha return to me? Are you mad father!? He's too soft-hearted thanks to your ideals and he allows his equally weak women to crawl their way into his heart!"
"Have you heard NOTHING that I've said!?" Inutashio thundered. "There will be a war and only through brotherhood combined can you hope to save this era from the flame!"
"What war!? It hasn't come yet-"
"But will come. I have seen this vision..now...you must see it too. The end of all things should Inuyasha continues on the road he is traveling." Inutashio said as he walked forward and touched Sesshomaru's face.
"No! This vision..! I cannot bear it! Stop!" Sesshomaru cried out...
With Inuyasha depressed, Kikyo and Kagome kill his lover Sango out of jealousy, driving Inuyasha from depression to madness...a fanatic sect of monks exterminating demons everywhere and willing to kill any human sympathizers along the way...in desperation the demons stage a war against the humans...the humans succeeded but not without cost...while grieving for Sango again...Inuyasha felt the comforting hand of Naraku and with gentle ministrations from him...exchanges his allegiance to Naraku for vengeance which Naraku is more than happy to provide...Naraku kills Koga and exterminates his clan while Inuyasha brutally and mercilessly kills both Kagome and Kikyo...Miroku dies defending a village long enough for its citizens to evacuate and he was given a funeral service in his honor...Shippo was taken to captivity and spends there for the rest of his life...the humans realized the threat of Naraku being real but they have been too weak fighting the demons and any defense they made was immediately flattened... Kaede had her back broken and her spiritual powers taken from her..killing her...Sesshomaru dies by his brother's hands and Rin surrenders in exchange for her life which he accepts...Naraku rules over a dead and hellish landscape with Inuyasha acting as his lieutenant..
With this vision finished, Inutashio let go of his brother's face and Sesshomaru stumbled back, paled at the whole vividness of it.
"Do you understand what awaits you should everything continue at this present course?" Inutashio asked.
"I..I understand."
"But you DON'T! Even now, you still hate Inuyasha for the sword being given to him and hoped you kill him because he has the one thing you don't have still...the love of a partner. I ask, not just as a demon lord but as a father, make peace with your brother. He has suffered enough from the actions of a certain priestess and her reincarnation who I will be having words with the former soon enough. Only then will the vision I have shown you be prevented."
"I will father." Sesshomaru said, conceding to his father's request. "I will also need an army to establish my new empire exclusively for demons. To be a safe haven for demons to live in. Who better than my brother to lead in my stead and command them in my name?"
"Now you understand my son. You have indeed walk into a path of goodness. It is a good path and one untraveled by many. I tell you now...go to him. I will have told him in advance. Make sure to keep him out of sight out of mind and strike at your enemies that this Naraku has manipulated to. Cut his allies off and pin the deaths on him. Naraku will be trapped in a figurative cage and cannot make his moves while you freely make yours."
"I shall father...thank you for telling me this." Sesshomaru said, feeling more confident.
"You are welcome. I will restore your arm so you could be at your full potential. Your ascension begins..now..." Inutashio said as he walked away from his son and disappeared.
Sesshomaru woke up from his bed, sweating, but he now had a clear purpose in his mind...
(With Inuyasha)
It was the lowest point of his life. He had been dating Sango since she's the only woman in his life who has been nice to him. This sadly came at a great cost: Kagome spitefully and venomously broke up with him before she entered the well and Miroku and Shippo cut off ties with Sango after they discovered that Kagome left because of their relationship.
Kikyo whispered her threats of bringing Inuyasha to hell to his face, lowering his confidence further and take revenge on him for defiling her memory of her at every turn.
Surprisingly, the only person who came on good terms was Sesshomaru. He offered a place to stay on his castle and establish an empire where only demons and demon sympathizers can be citizens. He also offered a rank for Inuyasha which is second to only to himself. Of course Inuyasha knew that he would have to acknowledge Sesshomaru as the superior brother.
He was sitting on a log with Sango at his side while Sesshomaru is standing over him.
"You are skeptical of my offer, I understand. I don't judge you as I would feel the same way had I been in your position. But my castle is the only sanctuary you will have as that priestess is coming to take you to hell with her and my father hopes to have you on my side on the war that is to come." Sesshomaru gently said while Inuyasha looked at him with a knowing look.
"I know, I get what I want in terms of you recognizing me as the superior brother but above all else I wish for you to be above your enemies and not let your friends treat you like a pet which I personally despise. You have given your loyalty to people who don't deserve it and I can't have that, especially the carbon copy." Sesshomaru commented while Inuyasha's hands clench into fists.
"I hate her now! I go with someone who treats me better than she did and she throws me aside like yesterday's garbage! Sango told me that Miroku and Shippo has abandoned us and now Kikyo wants to kill me! Now you're here to what? Join you and disappear!?" Inuyasha snarled, glaring at his brother.
"Peace Inuyasha. Unlike the monk, the fox and the wretched carbon copy who I find each of them distasteful, I do not intend to leave you on the dirt for you to die out. Even if you are a half-demon you're still my brother and the fact that you're still here when I found you proves how strong you are." Sesshomaru said, appeasing his brother's anger. "Simply pledge yourself to me and I will appoint you Lord Commander of the Western Empire. Not only that but I will forgive you cutting my arm which my father healed in my vision and will recognize you as my brother."
Inuyasha kneeled, summoned Tenseiga and declared. "I ,Inuyasha, recognize my brother Sesshomaru, as the Lord and ruler of the Western Lands and raise arms in his defense and strike down his enemies wherever they may lurk on his command. On this I vow as Prince of the Western Lands and as sure as the demon blood running through my veins."
Sesshomaru summoned Tokijin and made the gesture of knighting Inuyasha. "By my right as the first Emperor of the Western Empire, I hereby name you Lord Commander of my army and recognize you as my brother in blood."
Inuyasha looked up and saw Sesshomaru offer him a hand up. He accepted and was boosted to his feet. For the first time in his long life, Sesshomaru felt like a burden had been lifted off his shoulder by his act and smiled genuinely. "Then I welcome you into my fold, brother. You should know that our father visited me that night. He was the one who told me to seek you."
"I know Sesshomaru. He visited me too."
Sesshomaru said. "I have plans to form an army to combat the darkness that is to come and you will aid me fight it."
"I'm yours to command!" Inuyasha said with pride.
"Indeed." Sesshomaru commented as he looked at Sango. "I like your girlfriend. I approve. If she wants to come, she can join us." Inuyasha blushed.
Sango nodded. "I'll join you. I don't think I have any place to go anyway. Just let me get Kilala and my things then we're leaving."
Sango left for a while then appeared with Kilala and her giant boomerang. "All's well. I'm ready."
Sesshomaru declared. "Let us go then. We have much to do."
They all left for the castle.
(Two years later)
Inuyasha and Sango disappeared without a trace. In those two years, demons started flocking to the Western Lands area and rumors are flying around saying that the Western Lands are a haven where a demon can find peace.
Kagome returned to the feudal era to search for Inuyasha but find no trace of him. Same thing for Shippo and Miroku when finding Sango. They asked Kaede if the two went to her but the old priestess said no. They tried asking every feudal lord if they had seen a white-haired, red outfitted demon and a female slayer with him. Each said no. Out of desperation, they asked Kikyo. Even she knew nothing though she did express alarm at their disappearance. All their leads turned up dead and they couldn't Inuyasha or Sango anywhere.
Kikyo also volunteered to travel with them to search for Inuyasha but her motives were entirely different.
"Where has Inuyasha gone to!? I want to find him so I can give him the sitting of a lifetime!" Kagome fumed, pacing left to right in a campfire one night.
"All our leads went cold. They vanished without a trace. That idiot, he should've told us and Sango should've at least left a note." Miroku thought aloud.
"I still can't believe they were both gone. I mean Inuyasha wasn't always the smartest and he isn't good with girls.." Shippo commented but he felt killer intent and it was Kikyo.
"Don't. You. Dare. Hold. Your. Tongue. Little fox." Kikyo hissed, having heard enough.
"Lady Kikyo, this isn't like you. Besides Shippo isn't wrong when he said that Inuyasha is an idiot and he has poor skills when it comes to girls." Miroku spoke out but frozen when Kikyo glared at him.
"Be silent monk! You're no better! You claim that you are devoted to Sango but you spend every waking day flirting with girls. Your hypocritical infidelity sickens me to no end! I don't care if she slapped you because you touched her breast, fact is you most likely deserve it. Sango deserves better than a monk who breaks his vows like it's his own little joke." Kikyo hissed at him.
"What on earth is wrong with you Kikyo? You hated Inuyasha and want to see him dead. Besides you created that rosary to keep him in line. He should come back for the both of us then the both of you can go to hell like you wished you would." Kagome said.
"And I paid for my mistake of hating him with a nasty tongue lashing with his father in a dream. As for Inuyasha coming back? We both know what will happen to him if he does, you will sit him to the point where his organs are paste. Personally, I hope he's never found. And you better pray to what gods you worship that he doesn't come looking for his brother as he won't be so merciful as Inuyasha." Kikyo shot back and stood up.
"Where are you going lady Kikyo?" Miroku asked.
"That's for me to know and you not to find out." Kikyo said as she disappeared into the woods.
(With Kikyo)
Kikyo walked but then felt the familiar presence of Inuyasha and saw him..
Without the rosary.
Paling at this, she bowed before him, head nearly touching to the ground as she pleaded. "Please spare me Inuyasha. It was wrong of me to hate you and give in to petty jealousy. I understand if you don't forgive me and hate me with all the fiber of your being but if you spare me, I have valuable information about Naraku and the world for you."
"And why should I? You don't look like you've suffered." Inuyasha interrogated.
"Because...your father visited me that night.." Kikyo confessed.
(Dreamworld)
"Where am I?" Kikyo asked as she saw her surroundings in a completely dark area.
She felt a presence and shouted threateningly. "Who are you?! Show yourself!"
"You disappoint me woman! For a time, I thought that you would be perfect for my son!" A booming and dominating voice heard. Kikyo saw the figure approaching closer and saw traits of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru.
"You're Inutashio. Inuyasha's father."
"So you have heard of me. Yes, it is I. So I can skip the introductions. I can only say this: Damn you Kikyo for what you did! You're not worthy of my son! You betrayed him and you plan on taking him to hell with you!"
"I will not stand for this! I'll-" Kikyo tried to protest only to be viciously backhanded by the large figure in front of her, causing her to stumble on the floor.
"I DIDN'T PERMIT YOU TO SPEAK WENCH! I didn't know why Inuyasha fell in love with you but I am willing to support it if I was alive. But now you are willing to betray him and poison his heart just for petty revenge! You're a parasite! It sickens me to know that a spiteful, hated, specter of a woman like you would want MY SON!" Inutashio raged.
He then spoke in a mocking tone. "You think you could kill either of my sons? Ha! You're wrong! You're weak because you rely too much on your spiritual powers and in that condition of yours, you'll stay weak. You're worthless. I'd kill you myself in your own dream but I think it would be better for either of my sons to pass the sentence on you."
He then added with acid in every word. "You're dead Kikyo and hopefully you'll stay dead. You're nothing but a relic, a dead relic to be precise. If I were you, I'd pray to my gods to end my miserable life than continue this pathetic existence. Behind all that beauty masks the appearance of a snake, you sicken me."
He said with all the final judgment of a father and the all the fury of a demon. "I forbid you from making a one-sided relationship with Inuyasha EVER AGAIN! I spit on you and your woeful presence and should you find some idiot who is enthralled by your dead beauty, I spit on him too. And in the unlikely event that you are alive and had children, I spit on them as well. They, their children and their children's children, I SPIT ON ALL OF THEM!"
Kikyo was paralyzed at these cruel words. He was going out of his way to be especially mad when he could've just left. She did the one thing she hadn't done before in her mortal life.
She cried.
"Cry tiny priestess. You're nothing but a moving statue of mud and clay. You will get your comeuppance one day. Count your remaining days as you, the monk, the fox and that carbon copy will get your just rewards in the end." Inutashio growled out before he disappeared but Kikyo didn't notice because she was still crying.
(Real world, with Inuyasha)
Inuyasha made a mental note to tell his brother on what Kikyo said as he knew that Sesshomaru would enjoy this as much as he did. He passed the sentence on Kikyo as he figured that she already received her punishment in the form of her dream.
"I forgive you." Inuyasha tells the kneeling Kikyo.
Kikyo looked up and he said. "My father spoke cruelly against you but they were well deserved for all the evil whispers you said to me."
Kikyo stood up and said with gratitude. "Thank you Inuyasha and I do know how to repay you. Here are three scrolls that I had my soul collectors steal from Naraku. You should know that a fanatic sect of demons led by a man named Bashimi are hunting for demons. The information about them is in the second scroll."
Inuyasha read them and saw that is indeed Naraku's handwriting. "I see. Thank you for this. I'll be sure to bring in a good word to my brother for you." Kikyo nodded and she watch him walk away and disappear.
(With Sesshomaru)
"You've returned. I trust the trip was uneventful for you." Sesshomaru said as he was looking down on his rather large table with a big map of the feudal world.
"Yes brother. And I have some information." Inuyasha took out the scrolls and gave them to Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru read each and every one of them and it confirmed the vision he had with his father. He asked his brother. "May I ask who's your source?"
Inuyasha went silent for a bit then answered. "Kikyo."
Sesshomaru's eyes went wide. "Kikyo? I thought she wanted you dead."
"Turns out we're not the only ones father visited in our dreams." Inuyasha smirked at his brother.
Sesshomaru became intrigued as he said. "Tell me more." When Inuyasha explained to him what their father said to Kikyo, Sesshomaru smirked to himself. "Oh, Kikyo...you're going to be so fun to mock in the future if you survive."
...
...
"The information brought by the undead priestess is spot on." Sesshomaru tells his brother at his war table. "As we both know, there is a fanatic sect of monks dedicated to wiping out demon kind." He looked at Sango. "ALL demon kind. Including that cat of yours Kilala." He turned to Inuyasha again. "It's a good thing you've brought Sango here when you did. They don't care if Kilala is helpful to Sango, they'll still kill the cat demon solely because she's a demon." Inuyasha let out a sigh of relief.
Sesshomaru explained his plans. "We will give them an anonymous tip that a group of demons is holed up in the southern village: that is where Kagura and Kanna are building Naraku's armies. Those two won't be able to provide Naraku with any support because the monks will besiege them on the belief that they are demons which is also true."
He continued. "There is still the matter of Koga and his tribe attacking my people at the Western Lands. I'll deal with it myself though I have to surmise that I have felt a dark influence on him. Clearly it must have been Naraku."
Sesshomaru let out a devious smirk. "As for your former allies, I might have a way to get back at them for what they've done to you. By what you said, the carbon copy never truly cared for you. The monk is a pervert and the fox is an immature brat. I can send letters to the feudal lords about them and they'll handle the rest. But know this Inuyasha, if they switch allegiances with Naraku, I'll have them executed."
"Done." Inuyasha replied without hesitation. "All I ask is that you spare Kikyo. She has been nice to me every since our father visited her and promised to support me in our endeavors."
Sesshomaru nodded. "I'll do you that and one better." He smiled at his brother. "I know you've gotten along well with the demon slayer."
"I know you said you approve Sesshomaru but what are your thoughts?"
"Personally? I think she suits you. She makes a strong alpha female who relies more on her wit and cunning than her spiritual powers. Ironic, yet perfect at the same time. The demon cat she brought with her is a nice bonus." Sesshomaru said honestly.
"I'm guessing that you've been dreaming and predicted that we ended up together." Inuyasha said in a matter of fact voice.
"Indeed I did. But for the record, I didn't force you two to be together. You did that on your own." Sesshomaru said honestly.
Sesshomaru commanded his brother. "I want you to go to my selected generals and give them their orders. What I have plan will change the feudal era forever."
"Got it." Inuyasha replied as he left with Sango.
(One year later)
Still no sign of Inuyasha and Sango but events started to play out in an irreversible way.
The fanatics led by Bashimi found only a few demons hunting villages but they learned from an anonymous tip where they were stationed at. Unknown to them was that the village where they're in is actually Naraku's army. The battle lasted for days, Kagura and Kanna tried to fight the spiritual powers the monks unleashed and they couldn't contact Naraku nor they can send any demons to him. Bashimi's son died by Kagura's wind blast but the latter died of her injuries from the other monks.
Kanna barely escaped to report to Naraku what happened but died shortly after. Naraku was forced to use more drastic methods to eliminate the monks but the fanatics continued attacking his other bases across the world, preventing him from making any moves. In desperation, he was forced to use Koga and his pack as tools and recalled them from the Western Lands to engage the fanatics. They forced them back but the cost was that only Koga himself survived. Sesshomaru killed him and sent a demon messenger to throw the head at Kagome's feet one night.
"Koga isn't worthy of being an alpha pack leader. He isn't even a Beta. I bet that being Omega would be tainted if he ever achieved that rank." Sesshomaru's words in the note attached to Koga's head.
All Kagome could do...was scream.
Speaking of Kagome and her friends, they gave up searching for Inuyasha and Sango and decided to pursue more pressing matters. Thought it seems that something has changed but not for the better for them. It would seem that every feudal lord was told by an anonymous letter to watch out for her and her group.
For Miroku, he was banned from seeing women by every single father, brother or son of those women and in the event that he tried, he was to be sentenced and put the death. When Miroku asked why, the feudal lord replied that he was being made aware of the monk's perverted intentions and threatened to send him back to the monastery if he does as much as flirt with a SINGLE woman, Miroku is to be recalled to his monastery and they will judge him accordingly. Miroku has no choice but to agree.
In order to earn her redemption, Kikyo stole Kagome's jewel shards while the latter was sleeping. She was spotted by Shippo but the threat of absorbing his soul to sustain herself kept his mouth shut. She gave it to Inuyasha who gave it to Sesshomaru for safekeeping.
On orders of Sesshomaru and spoken by Inuyasha, she lied to Kagome that Naraku had stolen the jewels one night while they were all sleeping. Kagome instantly believed her and proceeded to attack Naraku.
Luck was with them as they encountered the fanatics attacking Naraku's castle and were sustaining heavy casualties. What neither groups did not know was that Sesshomaru planted several agents next to Naraku's and when the time is right, they'll turn on Naraku's demons.
When Naraku executed Bashimi and planted his head on a pike, his victory was short lived as Sesshomaru's agents struck at his guards, slaying them to the last. Kohaku tried to defend his master but he was knocked out.
Naraku fled to his throne chamber but was intercepted by Kagome's group. A long and hard fought battle awaited and though Sesshomaru's agents died. Kagome managed to defeat Naraku with Kikyo's and Miroku's assistance while Shippo dealt with the remaining guards and the mutineers (Sesshomaru's agents).
Again, their victory was short lived as they heard clapping...
Clap. Clap. Clap. Clap.
"That man was by far the most insufferable person with all his religious babbling. He served his purpose as you did yours." Sesshomaru appeared and said all that.
Naraku's eyes widened as he looked from Kagome to Sesshomaru. "So it was you that sent that tip to those fanatics. You set me up to take the hate of those wretched monks."
"Which led to them attacking your lieutenants. Like I said, Bashimi served his purpose. And now only you, the jewel shard hunters remain."
"So what happens now? You're the one who has brought me all this trouble from the start. Why not just kill me and get it over with?" Naraku sneered.
"I will. But first..." Sesshomaru snapped his fingers and all of a sudden...
Inuyasha, Sango and many demons loyal to Sesshomaru surrounded the group. Kikyo also joined in by using her power to paralyze Kagome, Miroku and Shippo.
"Sango, give Naraku a sword." Sesshomaru said to her.
Sango dropped a nearby sword and slide it to Naraku with her feet. Naraku caught it with his and picked it up.
"I will not let a demon lord claim my victory. Your so called Western Empire will be without it's ruler." Naraku snarled at Sesshomaru who scoffed.
"I have informed all of the feudal lords have made all the necessary adjustments to prevent you from pursuing your evil deeds. Face it Naraku, you have no place to hide and nowhere to run." Sesshomaru coldly said as he charged at Naraku.
Naraku barely blocked it with and it was only last minute survival instincts that made him back off. Sesshomaru charged again and Naraku parried the attacks but Sesshomaru proved relentless, his powerful sword strikes countering Naraku's blocks.
Naraku dodged the fifth strike and hammered Sesshomaru who blocked easily. Sesshomaru grabbed the hilt of the sword and smacked Naraku's face with it. He grabbed Naraku's foot and threw him to a pillar.
Naraku got back up and fired his magic at Sesshomaru who dodged it. Sesshomaru said. "So you used magic on me? That doesn't surprise me. You're more of a schemer than a warrior. My brother can best you easily."
"I don't have to just rely on my blade to win against you! I can tear your body with my powers!" Naraku fired back.
"Come and try." Sesshomaru coolly said as he charged at Naraku. Naraku blocked it and the two entered a sword lock. Sesshomaru won by head butting Naraku, grabbing by the collar and throwing him around.
Naraku fired a blast at Sesshomaru which hit but it didn't faze the demon lord in the slightest. He tried to block the swing down but Tokijin easily broke through the sword, breaking it.
"Wait! I yield! I yield!" Naraku said in defeat, holding his hand up.
Sesshomaru didn't hear it as he cut said hand off, making Naraku scream in pain. He also cut off Naraku's other hand. Naraku cried out. "No! You can't do this! Not in my own castle! You and your brother shall-" he didn't finish as Sesshomaru cut off his head.
Sesshomaru grabbed it and showed it to everyone. His army, Inuyasha and Sango cheered while Kikyo let out a sigh of relief. He ordered everyone to return to the Western Lands...
(Western Lands castle)
Kagome, Miiroku and Shippo were released from their paralysis by Kikyo. They kneeled before Sesshomaru who was sitting on his throne. Miroku spoke first in a respectful tone. Inuyasha and Sango were strangely absent. "My Lord Sesshomaru, Thank you for aiding us against Naraku-" he was cut off by Sesshomaru's cool glare.
"I didn't save you and your group out of mere kindness monk. I'm here to judge you regarding a certain demon slayer and my brother." Sesshomaru all but demanded.
"You know where they are? Where are they? We wanted to ask them to come back to us." Shippo bluntly requested.
"If I were to answer that, will you answer a question of my own?" Sesshomaru asked and they nodded. "What do you think of Sango, Miroku?"
Miroku hesitated then he answered. "She..she was everything to me. My future wife. My partner. I had hoped to make her stop her warrior mindset to get her to settle down one day. To show her that even monks can become chivalrous."
Sesshomaru snorted. "You mean your precious trophy. An achievement where you can go around bragging on how you tamed the mighty warrior demon slayer."
Miroku angrily said. "She was supposed to be mine! She would have been had Inuyasha not stolen her from me!"
Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow. "Is it? From what Sango has told me, you never truly cared about her. You're only interested in making her your wife so she can just serve as your caregiver before throwing her away like a worn out shirt. Besides, aren't you a monk? Monks are not allowed to get married and the fact that you've been flirting with women despite the feudal lords' edict proves that you are not fit to be her husband."
Miroku's eyes widened as he quickly connected the dots. "So it was you. You're the one who sent the message to the other feudal lords to 'watch out for a pervert in a monk's robes. Hide your women.'"
Sesshomaru smiled and shamelessly admitted. "I did. You still haven't gotten over your perversions. The one thing I hate even more than weak and arrogant humans is infidelities." Before Miroku can shoot a response, Sesshomaru brought out the killing blow. "I have already sent the message to the other monks of your monastery Miroku. They will demand an explanation when you leave my Lands."
Midoku paled. This means that he will stripped of his staff and immediate and subsequent banishment. His name will be expunged and he will be treated as a plague from now on. He just stayed silent.
Kagome shouted. "Where's Inuyasha?!"
Sesshomaru scowled at this disrespect and asked back. "Why do you want to know little girl? Inuyasha told me that you feel like you don't belong here, that he should be happy to seek someone else like Sango or Kikyo. You told him to never tell you to say he loved you again, shattering his heart to a billion pieces before jumping to your world."
Kagome seethed for a bit before shouting. "You demon bastard!"
Sesshomaru snorted. "How is that my fault? Those were your words remember? Inuyasha repeated it to me word for word, I'm just saying it to you so you can remember. He also told me that you've been sitting him using that rosary Kikyo crafted on him." He saw Kikyo shuffle nervously. "A rosary that is destroyed in the aftermath of their...mating."
Kagome and Miroku shouted at the same time. "THEY MATED?!"
Sesshomaru smirked. "Indeed. I can hear their moans at night, music to my ears. Sango told me that the subjugation rosary can be broken through mating with a loved one, overpowering it and never to be remade again." He got that part from Sango who got it from Kaede. He went to the old priestess to confirm it and she did.
However he threatened to decimate her village with his demon army should she ever make another rosary to use on Inuyasha.
"That demon loving whore!" Kagome seethed. "I don't care if you are this Emperor of the Western Empire! Inuyasha is mine! Mine to discipline! Mine to put down whenever I please! You know why?! Because he's nothing but a filthy mutt whose sole purpose is to please me and never get the freedom he so desired!" The madness and rage in her voice can be heard.
Everyone was surprised and turned to Kagome. Even the normally composed Kikyo was shocked to hear such cruel words.
"Is that you think of my brother, carbon copy?" Sesshomaru asked, voice quiet, cold and deadly.
"It is, 'Lord' Sesshomaru." Kagome spoke mockingly, spitting on the floor.
"So be it." Sesshomaru replied before he rushed forward, grabbed Kagome's face and slammed her on the ground.
He punched her in the face twice, three times, four times. Miroku and Shippo begged him to stop but Sesshomaru did the opposite by making the blows harder, stronger and faster. By the time he finished breaking every bone of her body, she was in a mess about to die unless someone could heal her.
"I may not have loved my brother as I should but he didn't deserve the pain you wrought on him. I am doing what he should've done to your whining and spoiled life." Sesshomaru said coldly then turned to Kikyo. "Heal her priestess, but not too much. She doesn't deserve to be Inuyasha's mate after the venom we hear her say." Kikyo could only agree though the dark part of her mind just whispered to let her reincarnation die. He then had the guards drag Kagome to a cell to make her reflect on what she said.
"If I may Lord Sesshomaru, I'd like to visit Sango. To tell her I'm sorry." Miroku requested.
"Denied. And should you ever try to find out where she is in order to have her kidnapped, I will make a third hole between your legs." Sesshomaru answered with Miroku stiffening as he had been planning to do just that.
Sesshomaru announced. "I will have my guards escort you two to the living area where I will think about the judgment I will pass on you. Unless you want to be in the same place as Kagome, you will behave and don't go anywhere." He had the guards escort them to the main hall.
"Is there a reason I'm still here?" Kikyo asked.
"Indeed." Sesshomaru replied, looking over his shoulder. "Come with me to my private quarters. We have something to discuss."
In Sesshomaru's private quarters, he sat down on one chair while Kikyo sat on another on the opposite end of the table. Sesshomaru began without preamble. "I have received a dream and a vision as to what happened if I didn't do what I did. From the look on your face, I can tell our father visited you too."
"I know. He berated me and said that I didn't deserve to be Inuyasha. Mocking and cursing me all the way." Kikyo replied sadly, feeling the sting of it in her heart like its yesterday.
"Indeed. And well deserved too. I am establishing a new empire and I will need the aid of my trusted people to rule it. My brother is fond of you Kikyo, which is why you are not sharing the dungeons with your reincarnation. You repented in front of him and provide us information that allowed us to win against Naraku. I shan't quarrel against my father and you have earned his wrath. At my brother's request and with all the gods present as my witness, you are spared this demon's wrath.
Kikyo let out a sight of relief.
"However...this pardon comes with a price. You will remain in the Western Lands for the remainder of your life. You will serve as my Chancellor of any internal matters of my land in my castle. By my brother's suggestion, you will also become Rin's teacher to control the innate spiritual power within her. Kohaku has accepted his sister's offer to become captain under my Lord Commander. All that remains is you."
He slid a silver pin across the table and Kikyo caught it with one hand. She regarded it for a moment before fastening it onto her chest. It's not enough to absolve her sins but to Kikyo, this is a good start.
"What happens to my reincarnation and her companions now?"
Sesshomaru smirked. "Inuyasha has something special in store for them, awaiting at the courtyard of my castle."
(Eleven minutes later, Western Lands courtyard)
Inuyasha watched emotionlessly as Kagome was being dragged by Sesshomaru's two guards while Miroku and Shippo walked beside her though they were shoved when they stopped.
With his Lady Commander, Sango by his side. Captain Kohaku behind her. He saw the self-proclaimed Emperor Sesshomaru with Chancellor Kikyo beside him.
Sesshomaru sentenced them accordingly.
Kagome is to be executed. Effective immediately.
Both Miroku and Shippo are banished from the Western Lands. They are not prisoners per say but they are not to return on penalty of imprisonment of twenty one years and further contact with the Lord Commander Inuyasha and his Lady Commander Sango is forbidden.
Kagome can be heard screaming for anyone to help. Anyone. She tried to beg and apologize to Inuyasha for all the things she said to him but Inuyasha ignored all that just as she ignored all of his pleas and explanations.
In desperation she begged Kikyo to convince Sesshomaru to revert the sentence passed on her and to be carried by Kohaku. But Kikyo could only look at her with abject sadness.
There was nothing she could do for her reincarnation. Kagome has chosen her own path and this is her fate. She was grateful that she had assisted Sesshomaru and Inuyasha and shown kindness to the latter otherwise she would've shared the same fate.
Kagome struggled as she was forced to a kneeling position. She felt Kohaku unsheathe his sword and ready to bring it down upon her neck. Like all the others, he ignored her pleas to spare her life and awaited Sesshomaru's word.
Sesshomaru gave it and Kohaku took careful aim, raised his sword above Kagome's head and brought it down. Kagome's cries ending abruptly as she was executed.
Shippo fainted and Miroku had to carry him as they left the Western Lands forever.
(Epilogue)
Sesshomaru walked down the hallways of his castle as he reflected on several things.
The Western Lands became known as the Western Empire with Sesshomaru declaring himself as its first Emperor. He announced the birth of the Western Empire to the feudal lords and had them recognize him as emperor. With his troops moving throughout the world, they will have little choice. The land became home to many demons and any helping said demons and Sesshomaru's name became known in the feudal era for decades to come with his brother enforcing it.
After Kagome's death, Kikyo is reverted back to her human form. She paid the price Sesshomaru had on her and became Chancellor, assisting in many issues most demons would request for their problems, bringing only the most important to Sesshomaru himself. She took Rin as her apprentice and taught her all of what she knew about being her successor one day, she sent a request to her sister and another elderly priestess named Bova to give her additional material for her lessons which they did. Rin took all of her lessons like a fish did water and was a prodigy with a bow. Kikyo is confident that Rin will be a fine priestess and a worthy successor.
Miroku returned to the monastery and couldn't give out an explanation to the elders whom were displeased by his mockery of their laws. As a result, he was cast out and his staff being confiscated. He couldn't find any other profession but happen to see Sango as she is traveling. Too bad for him, Sango looked at him like a total stranger and when he tried to reconcile with her, she refused to speak to him and even went as far to sell him out to the local monks. He tried to flee but his stamina wasn't great and he collapsed out of fatigue. He was dragged back into the local monastery and was castrated and become a eunuch. He lived for four and a half years before he committed suicide by hanging on a noose. The shame of it being too great to bear. His name was quickly forgotten and not a single soul remembers his name.
Shippo went back to Kaede's to live with the old priestess but she gave him some bad news. By order of every feudal lord, Shippo has to travel every day. Not stopping to a single place and he'll be kicked out if he stays longer than two days. In other words, exile.
He didn't have anyone to take him in besides Kaede but even she couldn't let him stay any longer than two days. He tried traveling to different villages but living in a sheltered life by Kagome had failed to prepare Shippo for a hard life on his own. He strayed from the main roads and walked to the wilderness and vanished. The little fox demon named Shippo had all but disappeared.
Kagome's corpse was taken by a demon and had the missing stump replaced with a dead wolf's head. Her body and head that came off of that stump were buried in her family home at the modern era. A letter spoke to her family that Naraku was the one who killed her and mocked her by stitching a wolf's head to the stump but the real head was still intact. It gave them condolences and assured them that their daughter has been avenged. A lie for the most part and Kikyo was the one who wrote it in forged Kagome's handwriting with Inuyasha dictating it.
It's unfair that Naraku deserves to die for something he didn't do but at least Kagome's family can find peace that the body is returned to them and her death avenged.
As for Inuyasha, he married Sango and continued serving as the Lord Commander of the Western Empire. With his natural charisma, all the demons he led would die fighting for him and his brother's glory. He devoted all his time to her and repaid the generosity his brother gave him twofold.
Sango was equally respected and was admired by both demons slayers and demons alike. Although she too became a demon thanks to Inuyasha's mating, her demon slaying skills, combined with the natural buffs of a demon, made her a formidable opponent with her equally formidable husband by her side.
Her brother Kohaku continued serving under Inuyasha and is content to stay in the Western Lands since their home was destroyed and they can make a new one here.
The wedding between Inuyasha and Sango was private with nothing but a monk, Sesshomaru, Kohaku, Kaede and Kikyo attending. Unlike her reincarnation, Kikyo just wanted Inuyasha to be happy. If this means sacrificing their bond to be with the bond he loves, so be it.
Sesshomaru walked on the hallways as he saw Kikyo meditating with Rin...all the servants passing by him, bowing as the walked by and nodding to them. He reflected on several things happening in his life...sometimes he wondered what would happen if his father didn't meet him like he did. He frowned and shook his head knowing that the answer wouldn't be a good one.
They would succeed anyway but the battle would a long and hard fought one and the victory that comes with it would cost them all but their lives.
He went to the courtyard where he saw his brother and Sango embracing each other while Kohaku tended the gardens. He smiled at the sight. For the first time in a long while, he felt peace. He created a new nation and the hatchet between both brothers is buried.
He went to the upper courtyard and said to himself while watching Inuyasha and Sango, both unaware of his presence. "Father, I have succeeded. I have accepted the bond with my brother and defeated Naraku. I have established a new nation for demonkind and with my brother's help and those he brought with him, I have no doubts that I can succeed. If you're listening here father, know that I truly understand your belief in having someone attached to you and protecting your significant other no matter what. I hope that you can approve Sango father, I know I did. She truly is an alpha female and her brother too. Kikyo has been repenting for her sins and in time, I might forgive her like my brother did."
He held out the completed sacred jewel in his right hand. "I hope I will not have need of it. I took a page out of Naraku's playbook and had Kikyo steal it from her reincarnation for me. I hope I didn't have something that I need this for. I hope I never will."
"Enjoy your time with your mate my brother. You have earned it." Sesshomaru said to Inuyasha who didn't hear it as he hugged Sango and kissed her passionately.
Sesshomaru looked beyond his castle to his Lands. The future is looking bright.

Another massive one shot. It may not be as big as my Inuyasha/Kikyo fanfic but it's still big and probably not as good I think. I also believe that this is the last Inuyasha fanfic I'm writing.
