Because It's Obvious
Lucy was sitting in the guild, at a table watching Natsu playing with Nasha. They were playing together for an hour and neither of them seemed to want to stop. Team Natsu would soon be returning to Earthland and Lucy knew he was enjoying every second with Nasha before leaving. Lucy blushed at the thought of the possible future that was waiting for her with Natsu. Although it was still strange to her, the thought of having a family with Natsu did not bother her.
She saw Natsu hug Nasha one last time, before the little girl ran towards her parents. Natsu walked over to Lucy and sank into the chair next to her. He put his head on the table and sighed.
'I want to take her to Earthland with us,' he said.
Lucy's heart broke. The dragon slayer had grown fond of Nasha and he was sad to leave her.
'You know you can't,' Lucy said, putting her hand on his arm to comfort him. 'Her parents are here.'
'I know but...'
He looked at Lucy.
'I wonder when I'll see her again.'
'What do you mean ?'
Lucy did not understand. Once they would return to Earthland, it would be impossible for them to come back to Edolas. She wondered how Natsu was planning to see Nasha again.
'How long till will we have our own Nasha?'
Lucy blushed.
'You idiot ! What are you saying ?'
Natsu turned his head to look into her eyes.
'Why ?' He asked. 'You never thought about it ?'
'Of course I do… Well, no… I mean…'
Lucy became redder and hid her face in her hands to not show her embarrassment to Natsu. Of course she had thought about it. To marry Natsu, to have their own Nasha. This possibility was starting to become more and more real and she wanted it, she really wanted it. And Natsu seemed so sure of himself.
'Why ?' She asked. 'Why weren't you surprised that Edo Natsu and Edo Lucy got married and had a child ? And why do you seem so certain this will happen to us too ?'
Natsu took her hands to see her face and grinned from ear to ear.
'Because it's obvious.'
Lucy smiled and nodded. She put her arms around him. She closed her eyes, losing herself in that feeling of happiness that only Natsu could bring her. Yes, she thought, it's obvious.
