My relationship with Carl Grimes was odd to say the least. We fought like cats and dogs one minute and flirt the next. The whole thing made me so confused. But lately, things had changed. We didn't fight anymore but we didn't flirt either. In fact, we barely talked.

Ever since we'd arrived in Alexandria, all he ever did was hang out with Enid. Eugh. Enid. They weren't ever apart and it drove me insane. All of these thoughts ran through my mind as I sat on my porch swing.

Tired, blue boy walks my way

Suddenly, I saw Carl. He was walking over to my house. I smiled and bit my lip. Then I noticed who was with him and my smile melted away.

Holding a girl's hand

My eyes hardened as I saw his hand holding onto Enid's. What was she doing here? I'd never invited her to come to my house.

That basic chick leaves finally

As they reached my porch steps, she pecked his cheek before walking off down the street. I got up and strolled over to where Carl stood.

Now I can take her man

I grinned down at him and he smiled back at me, taking the stairs two at a time until he reached the top. His medium-brown hair hung loosely against his forehead, nearly touching his shoulders. As he took a step closer, my mind suddenly went to what Enid had told me a few days ago.

Someone told me stay away from things that aren't yours

She'd looked at me harshly that day.

"Stay away from things that aren't yours..." her words echoed.

But was he yours, if he wanted me so bad?

My eyes gazed into Carl's and I saw the longing there in his blue orbs. He inched closer then and I closed my eyes. His hands connected to my waist and those plump lips crashed into mine.

The Next Day...

Pacify her, She's getting on my nerves

"Pacify her!, "I groaned, slumping back onto the couch in my living room as Carl paced around the room, "She's getting on my nerves!"

He turned to glance over at me.

You don't love her

"But I love her!" he said, his voice soft and dejected.

Stop lying with those words

"Stop lying with those words." I scoffed, rolling my eyes at his declaration.

Pacify her

He crossed the room to me and I stood up, wrapping my arms around his towering frame.

She's getting on my nerves

He set his chin on the crown of my head and I sighed, still thinking of our problem.

You don't love her

"You don't love her," I said suddenly, glancing up at him.

Stop lying with those words

He sighed as well and bit his lip, "No, but I don't want to hurt her..."

His lips collided with mine then and I melted into the kiss. The feel of his lips on mine was intoxicating as his hands rest on my hips and mine tangled themselves into his shaggy brown hair. I smiled into the kiss and he broke away from me, grinning. Suddenly, a loud knock on the door made us jump apart. He looked at me uncertainly before wrenching the door open. On the doorstep stood the one person neither of us wanted to see: Enid.

I can't stand her whining

"Carl, baby, where have you been all afternoon?!" she whined to him and I crossed my arms, rolling my eyes at her childish behavior.

Where's her binky now?

"Where's her binky now?" I mumbled under my breath as I pushed past the two of them and went out the door.

And loving her seems tiring

I turned back around then just in time to see Carl embrace Enid, an irritated expression on his face. Casting my eyes down to my shoes, I thought back to when he first kissed me.

So boy, just love me

He had caught me by surprise, pinning my wrists to the fence. Velvet-soft lips crashed against mine.

Down

Once.

Down

Twice.

Down

Three times. I sighed at the memory just as Enid came skipping down the steps.

Someone told me

She smiled over at me triumphantly, putting her hands on her hips.

Stay away from things that aren't yours

"Stay away from things that aren't yours," she said, cattily.

But was he yours, if he wanted me so bad?

"But was he yours, if he wanted me so bad?" I smirked.

The smile dropped from her face and suddenly, she threw a punch at me.

Pacify her

I dodged her just in time and swung back at her. My fist connected with her eye and she cried out.

She's getting on my nerves

I grinned, relishing her pain. Suddenly, Carl ran out of the house.

You don't love her

"He doesn't love you," Enid spat as she picked herself up off the ground.

Stop lying with those words

"Stop lying with those words!" I shouted back, my blood boiling.

Pacify her

"Why? Does the truth hurt you?" she countered.

Carl came closer, his gaze flitting between the two of us.

She's getting on my nerves

I scowled at her and shot a look towards him.

You don't love her

"You don't love her, Carl. I know that you don't," I said, my voice beginning to waver.

Stop lying with those words, word, word

"I-I don't know. I did once...but..." he trailed off.

I shook my head at him, my jaw clenched.

"Fine. You know what? We're done. Whatever we had or would have had is over." I said, trying to keep the sadness out of my voice.

I spun back around and walked back to my house, bumping Carl's shoulder on the way. Once I reached my porch, I opened my door before walking inside and continued to slam it behind me.

Pacify her

Tears filled my eyes as I picked up the picture of Carl and I from the table by the door.

She's getting on my nerves

Enid had destroyed everything. With one look, she had stolen him away from me.

You don't love her

I thought he didn't love her and that he loved me.

Stop lying with those words

All of a sudden, my front door swung open and Carl raced in. Tears ran down his cheeks while he came closer to me. He got down on both knees, wrapping his arms around my waist.

Pacify her

"I pacified her," he said, his voice muffled by the material of my tank-top.

She's getting on my nerves

"She got on my nerves," he continued.

You don't love her

"I don't love her..."

Stop lying with those words

"I've stopped lying with those words..." he said, finally looking up at me.

Pacify her

Those aqua-blue eyes bored into mine and I felt the walls around my heart begin to collapse.

She's getting on my nerves

Suddenly, all thoughts of Enid and the fight disappeared from my mind.

You don't love her

He didn't love her! But did that mean...

Stop lying with those words, word, word

"I don't love her...I love you..." he said, his voice soft as he slowly got up from the floor.

His lips connected with mine and he cupped my face in his hands. I kissed him back, putting all the love I had for him into it. Those velvet lips glided smoothly over my own. I was so caught up in Carl's kiss that I barely heard the sound of footsteps stop nearby. As I continued to kiss him, I opened my eyes and saw Enid standing there, fuming. I smiled into the kiss before closing my eyes once more.

He was mine now. He just pacified her.

Note: Just in case anyone was confused, Carl was with the OC character during the time he was still with Enid. I hope that was clear lol XD
