One Step at a Time

Remembering nothing; not of her past, not even her own name. She finds herself in a strange new place with strangers. unsure of who she can trust. She must learn to adapt and fight to find the memories she has lost. The road ahead of her may not be one she wants to go down. "Hey… Hey please wake up. Sir are you alright? Can you hear me?"

My head is it's throbbing as I hear a voice calling to me. "Come on Mr wake up." I

feel paws shaking me.'Ow...' Trying to ignore the throbbing in my head I attempted to open my eyes. Only for me to close them again instantly at the Sharp sunlight. I grown.

"Pl...eas... sto.. s..ak..ing me it hu...rt.." My voice Sounding dry and cracked. I'm not sure if I made any sense. It took so much effort just to say that one sentence. "Oh thank goodness you're conscious." ' voice is Male'. I tried again this time successfully opening my eyes. Just hovering above me is a Pokémon, A Pikachu. "Wha... " I Tried to speak but Couldn't. All that come out are groans. I couldn't even move; it feels like Something heavy is weighing down on me. Pain, pain is all my brain can register. "No no don't speak save your energy. I'm going to try and dig you out ok." I can hear the panic in his voice as he is trying to sound calm. My eyelids feel so heavy. So I'm let them close again. "Hey dude lo... .a .. st..." I lose track of what he's saying. As I let myself sink into the gloriously; painless blackness.

"AWWWWWWWWWW...!" My eyes flew open as an unexpected shock, burns through my body. "If you close your eyes again I'm gonna give you another shock do you understand me?" With tiny sparks sprouting out of his red cheeks he didn't give me time to respond as he turned away with that desperate expression. I can barely see him at the corner of my eye as he began frantically digging at the ground by my side. my body convulses involuntary. "Owwww..." the movement causing pain to flareup again. Despite my voice being no more than a whisper. I think he heard me.

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to shock so hard. I haven't introduced myself yet have I. The names Lustre not lust; I desire every girl that walks my way no". He lets out an odd short laugh. "Lustre as in brightness, shine basically just a fancy way of saying light. You're still awake right?" I made a noise in answer to him. Light continues talking. I focused on his voice and somehow making it easier to stay awake. I attempted to look around me to see if a recognised where I am. The first thing I noticed was the smell of damp Leafs and wet earth like it's just recently rained. Then I notice the variety of colours around me; Leafs of oranges, reds, browns and greens. 'So it's Fall'. I think I'm in a small clearing within the forest. Where the Sun come brake through the trees but I don't know where I am.

"You know I've never seen an Eevee with golden eyes before." Light sounded winded He hasn't stopped digging since he started. But his comment took me by surprise. 'Golden? My eyes aren't golden there ... wait what colour are my eyes?' there... wait what colour are my eyes?' I don't seem to remember. Another wave of fresh pain went through me. Taking me away from my thoughts. Light continues to talk.

"I bet you get all the girls flock to you with those eyes..." Slowly, So slowly I start to feel the crushing weight on me ease. 'Air delicious air.' After a few deep breaths I start to feel my energy coming back. "Good .., good I've almost got you out just hang in there a little longer. Did you know my name also means Radiance. I think that suits me just well don't you think. I'm just brewing with the light.I'm also quite good... Oh fuck, fuck Arceus."

That last part came out in a horrified whisper. He's staring at something I can't see. I move to try and see what he's looking at. "No don't look!" He shouts, Shocking me. I just stare straight back at him. "Just stay focused on me okay." I nod the immediately wince at the pain in my head. Light unexpectedly jumped over me to my other side. "Okay so this is what we're going to do. We're going to get you up and I want you to put all your weight on me. Do not put any weight on your front right leg okay." His voice goes gentle again as if he is talking to a kit. "Ok." I croaked. Out; preferring to speak rather than move my head. He nodded his head in understanding. "One… Two... Three." My legs shakes as I attempted to stand on three legs. Relying on Light to bear most of my weight. I held in a scream as I felt my stomach left off from the muddy ground.

I almost lost my balance completely as Light unexpectedly wiggled his way beneath me.I ended up with most of my upper-body on his shoulders to back. With both my front paws around his neck. He manages to steady himself. "Well done lad". He grunts from my extra rate. "Now not too far from here there is a lake where we can get you cleaned up. We don't want your injuries getting infected. I'm going to need you to count our steps out loud on our way just so I know that you're still conscious. If you fall asleep the same applies here as last time I will shock you lad."

We begin walking 'well if you can call it walking ha' as I start counting out loud, " 8, 9, 11". I just continued counting just letting my head drop, dead weight over his shoulders. As he basically drags me and every time I got to 60 I started over at one again. I think on the fourth round of 60s. When we stopped. Light then carefully let me slide off him whilst making sure I don't drop like a stone to the ground. "There we go. we are here." He is definitely breathing heavily now. I take a look around me. The view is breathtaking. We are in a large open space with grass with so many different shades of green. The air smelt clean and then there was the lake. The Sun shone off the lake. Making the water shimmer with dancing little lights. For the first time since I woke up I felt myself smile.

"The water is just radiant don't you think, just brewing with Light." I attempted for a playful tone. To try and ease Light's worry. I look back at him; noticing his smirk as he realises my use of wording. "You know you've got a very feminine voice for a boy." He teases back at me. 'Wait what?' "Wait here while I head back and get my bag of supplies I won't be long." I swear I feel my smile grows. For some reason finding comfort in this playful banter with him. It makes this pain easier deal with. "Female." I just say that one word. Light stops And looks back at me with a confused expression. "Female?" He repeats back at me. "Female." I repeat again back at him with chipper He just continues to stare at me, Not getting it. 'This is actually funny.' I thought to myself. This time I deliberately; pleasingly make myself go slowly. "I am a". I stopped purposely. Enjoying this way too much. "Female..." I prolonged the last word with a smile.
