Chapter 2: The Trouble Begins
Ash and Pikachu walked along the road, heading back to meet Misty and Brock. They couldn't stop thinking about the man they just met. What did Cyrus mean by, "We'll keep in touch?" Who was He? Before those thoughts flooded their minds, they heard a familiar laugh.
It was Jessie, James and Meowth, yet again. " Prepare for trouble", Jessie said. "And make it double," James proceeded. As they continued with their motto, yet again, Ash remembered something. If it wasn't for them, he would've faced Richie on time. If it wasn't for them, there could have been a chance he would have won. Ash became so furious, that he couldn't think straight.
So he sent out his Bulbasaur to use vine whip on their legs. Ash's Bulbasaur became hesitant until Ash said "Do what I say now!" So Bulbasaur used vine whip on both Jessie and James' legs, causing them to fall backwards. They were unable to move for a short period of time. Then Ash called his Bulbasaur to use vine whip to smack them in the faces. Luckily for Meowth, he was too quick. He was able to dodge the attacks, using his size as an advantage.
However, Jessie and James became so weak that they couldn't call their Pokémon. They had only had enough energy to crawl back away from a cliff. Ash called back his Bulbasaur and looked at the duo. Since they have survived countless amounts of pain, Ash decided to push them off the cliff. He put both his foot on each team member and slowly pushed them down the cliff.
As they fell, Ash heard a loud thud, but no response. He went to the bottom of the cliff to see if they were alright, thinking that they would be. Meowth and Pikachu followed with him. When he got to the bottom of the cliff, he could not believe his eyes. Jessie and James were both found with their necks snapped. They were both dead and Ash had killed them.
"What have you done," Meowth asked. Ash just stood their in silence. He got to his knees. "I didn't mean for it to be like this", he said. Pikachu looked at Ash with disbelief. Ash looked into his Pikachu's eyes and saw his expression. " It was…." Ash said without finishing his sentence. Suddenly, he saw a mysterious sound come from the woods. "We have to hide", Ash exclaimed. "No, you do", Meowth said as he turned around. " My friends are dead because of your rage, so now I have no one", he continued. So he walked into the sunset and disappeared forever.
As Meowth vanished, Ash and his Pikachu were left alone. They continued to hear footsteps come from the woods. Afraid someone may find out that he is responsible for the death of Jessie and James, he bolted with his Pikachu. Pikachu looked at him with shame. Ash looked into his Pikachu's eyes. "What else can I do", Ash asked with deep regret. From there, they never looked back.
