Hello again!
I bring you a new Carulia fic, but this time, my inspiration has a name. BlackRoseGJ recommended me her DeviantArt ( https/afroricelesttia ) and, true to my gossip side, I started checking it out until I bumped into one of her comics ( https/afroricelesttia/art/No-me-asustas-844592523 ), which turned on my light bulb. The idea of such a situation is hers and, obviously, I asked her permission. I've only driven the plot and added the Christmas touch.
Carmen Sandiego belongs to Broderbund and Netflix.
Enjoy!
It had been five years since V.I.L.E. was disassembled. ShadowSan was living with his brother using his real name, the twins kept getting better as A.C.M.E. agents, Player would finish college in a year and Carmen was found currently taking out the decorations boxes from the old base in San Diego. The building was used as a meeting point to celebrate assigned dates, like birthdays or what was about to arrive: Christmas.
- My mother says she's about to catch her fly to spend the holidays with her family, and Sonia that she'll come next week.- Julia got closer to her, phone in her hands after talking with both of them, and gave her girlfriend a sweet kiss on the lips.- Shall we start decorating?-
Soon after ending V.I.L.E., both had started a relationship. It was a distance relationship, since Carmen wanted to make up for the lost time with her mother and remain invisible to the V.I.L.E. agents who had not been captured. Once they started living together, they travelled around the world when Julia had vacations, but this time visiting even the smallest corner, because they deserved it.
- Right a few days before Christmas, I guess to inspect the area. I'll keep an eye on my hats to make sure she doesn't steal any.- Carmen let out a soft laugh at her own occurrence while she put everyone's red socks over the shelving where her matrioskas used to be.
- You shouldn't make those kind of jokes, she was a kid… Besides, you aren't the best to speak, Femme Rouge.- Julia stopped placing garlands to watch her from the top of the stairs.
- Perhaps are you going to arrest me after all this time, Agent Argent?- The brunette left all the tree decorations well placed to the side, since it was something they used to do all together, and got up to step closer to the girl until she stopped at the stair's foot.
- I'm thinking about it, Miss Sandiego.- Julia kept hanging ornaments, but without losing sight of the ex-thief.
- That's a shame… You'll miss the beautiful dress I've chosen for the occasion.- Carmen commented, amused, raising an eyebrow.- We need new ornaments: the mistletoe is losing its color and the box has more glitter than the stars.-
Julia turned around to look at her girlfriend with the same box she was using herself. In which moment had she taken it? She kept surprising her with her stealth and with how, after all this time, she never forgot how to steal. But she guessed that, since she was raised and grew up in a school that trained the best thiefs, it was something pretty much innate.
- It's not a surprise the mistletoe is like that. When Ivy and Zack see it they spend the whole time walking it around the whole building or hanging it in a thousand different places. We should retire it this year.- Julia couldn't help a laugh remembering the first Christmas she spent with them.
The twins chased them around with the plastic object tied to a string all over the place, and they kept doing the impossible to get them together if one of them left for a moment. Until, after hitting everyones, breaking more than one ornament, and scratching the walls, the mistletoe ended up in ShadowSan's drink, who grunted, fed up. Hideo saved them telling them stories about samurais, something the twins loved and kept them quiet for a while.
- By the way, is it true you've bought a new dress?- Julia asked nonchalantly while she got off the ladder to see what else she could decorate. But she cared a lot about the answer, because everything looked awesome in her, especially the dresses she used: she never could look away when that was the case.
- Seems like someone can't wait a week.- The dark-skinned young woman's comment along with her soft and melodious laugh made the ex-agent turn red when discovered. Then she lifted the mistletoe over their heads while raising an eyebrow subtly and biting her lower lip. -Maybe if you get closer I could think about telling you.-
- No, thank you. I have a lot of work to do. The building isn't getting decorated itself.- Before such an obvious catch, Julia tried to look indifferent to not give that luxury to her girlfriend.
- You aren't scared of this little mistletoe, are you?- Carmen said mischievously approaching her even more, the ornament still raised.
- Of course not!- Clarified the shorter girls taking it out of her hands nervously.
- Then it's me you're scared of? Who would say the former best INTERPOL agent and currently best of A.C.M.E. would be afraid about the idea of seeing her girlfriend using a new dress? - Carmen closed all the distance, making the girl jump and get away before such a hit to her pride.
- You don't scare me.- Julia said, serious, while her left hand approached her partner, which the latter used to wrap her fingers around Jules' wrist.
- Then why is your heart beating so fast?- Carmen looked at her flirtatious, using a soft tone that left Jules red and with her mouth open.
- Parce que tu es un peu sexy.- Julia answered confidently. She knew two could play this game, and those words left the brunette bewildered, turning the tables.
Carmen had her cheeks red, her mouth open and a drop of sweat falling through her cheeks because she loved when she spoke french.
After five years of relationship, the girl kept surprising her and that made her love her even more, if that was possible. That's why, she knew for sure that it would be their last Christmas as girlfriends. But to ask her to marry her, she needed to prepare a good setting, and seeing the ornaments' state had given her the perfect excuse to give her privacy.
Every year, they all travelled together to Buenos Aires on Christmas day to bring presents to the kids of Carmen's mom's orphanage, and this year wouldn't be an exception. For months both Carmen's and Julia's mom knew about the surprise and had it noted: both of them would be at the orphanage to welcome them along with the kids. Carmen would use that moment to propose to her there, surrounded by their family.
With that thought, she catched Julia's mouth with hers trying to convey everything she felt for her. The girl gladly accepted the kiss and took advantage to put her arms in the latin's waist. Carmen, on her side, cupped her hand in the french woman's cheek and, while caressing her, she put the other hand on her shoulder.
- Surprise!- Sonia came through the door with a loud bang that made the two girls separate ipso facto.
- Did no one teach you a thief must be stealthy?- Carmen commented, regaining her breath and composure before approaching the girl with her girlfriend to greet her.
- I see you've made good use of the mistletoe.- Sonia's answer made Julia get redder since she still had the mistletoe in her hands after being catched in such a compromised position.
- Why don't you get your suitcase to your room? I'll be right there with the bed sheets.- Seeing how Jules was about to pass down, Carmen decided to take the floor.
Sonia headed to the room without another word, but, taking advantage of Julia facing away, she quickly turned around to give the brunette a thumbs up. She knew about her marriage proposal, but, seeing how extroverted she had become, Carmen started to wonder if it was a good idea to get her help.
- So embarrassing!- Julia brought her hands to her face before such an embarrassment.
Carmen looked at her fondly, seeing her so pained and with the item of the mockery still between the girl's fingers.
- Why don't you make some hot chocolate while I help Sonia? If we let her alone any longer she'll start to look for presents.- The ex-thief's statement made her come out of trance and looked at her with terror. In more than one occasion they had found the twins and Sonia recreating the treasure's hunt with the Christmas presents.
- You're right! I'll wait for you two down here with the cups. Don't take long.- With that said, Julia approached her to give her girlfriend a quick kiss on the lips and tried to leave, fast, to the kitchen. But she didn't count on Carmen's arm tightening in hers to give her a deeper kiss.
- Now. I'll wait for my cup, Jules.- With a wink, the girl went to Sonia's room, leaving Julia sighing and with a smile in her lips.
Carmen couldn't wait to meet everyone and share the holidays with them in the family, just like she couldn't wait to propose to her girlfriend. The only thing left was to tell the young girl who was looking under the bed to watch out tomorrow and make sure Julia won't leave the house so that she can buy the last preparations and agreeing with her mother.
I encourage you to check out BlackRoseGJ's Deviantart ( https/afroricelesttia ) . It's very adorable and supporting an artist costs nothing!
I don't know about you, but in my head Carmen and Julia have adopted Sonia :')
A tight hug to everyone and especially to BlackRoseGJ for the idea. To my dear beta, who poor boy must be sick of all the work I give him! xD And another to ShittykawaTheTrashKing for translating it!
