Loud snoring noises sound from the front of the Scarlet Devil Mansion.

Sakuya's eye's narrow on the sleeping gatekeeper before throwing 3 swift knives at her.

With 3 direct hits Meiling fallsonto the hard wall like a rag doll and doesn't get up. Sakuya sheaths her knives, "Maybe I hit a vital place?"

"Gotcha!"

Ling jumps out from the bushes poised to strike, but her target disappears in front of her.

"You're still a thousand years too early.", Sakuya snaps her fingers and a hundred knives all fly intoMeiling. "Now do you mind telling me what you're doing?"

"Hang on... just let me bleed out a little before I answer..." She stands up and the knives fall out of her clinking on the ground, "This thing here is my doppelganger. It can't actually move but I thought I could use it to surprise any intruders."

"There's no need for that. I have a special guest coming in a few days, so just focus on looking your best, and no more tricks."

"But I thought it was a good idea. Now how am I supposed to stop someone strong like Reimu or fast like Aya..."

"Don't you mean fast like Marisa?", she says from behind.

"Who goes there!",Meiling spins around in a combat post swiping Marisa in the nose.

"Ow..." She says wiping it, "You made my eyes water."

"Oh sorry... Wait don't act so casual after sneaking in here."

"Come on, they'd miss me if I didn't show up at this point. "

Meiling says, "Maybe.. Personally I'm starting to feel like decoration."

"You're just now figuring that out?"

"No way! Is this common knowledge?"

"Follow me, and I'll show you something interesting."

Inside Sakuya is happily serving Remilia tea when told, "You seem full of energy today."

"Of course, my father is coming to visit."

"Of course?", she slams her cup spilling it, "I never heard anything about this."

"Is that so? I left a notification in the employee message box."

"Why not just tell me? Nobody ever uses that thing."

"That's where your wrong mistress. Look here, two more messages from one of our other maids. 'I think The Head Maid should get extra money to go dress shopping' and 'I think The Head Maid should get extra time off."

"For some reason I'm questionable of the validity of those."

"Well how about this one, 'I think the mistress should take cooler baths so there's less steam and a clearer view from the door way."

"What?"

Glass shatters in the other room.

"My duty calls me, we'll have to continue this another time. "

"Another time huh... I wonder if time had something to do with that glass breaking."

Back outside Marisa and Meiling sneak through the window. The former says, "Come on let me show you around."

"Eh? But I live here."

"But don't you just guard the gate all day?"

"Not all day. I also do the gardening and Sakuya brings me breakfast, lunch, and dinner for my breaks."

"You eat three meals a day out here? The situation is worse than I thought. Anyway, follow me, there's some things you can only see by lurking in the shadows."

With them gone Cirno approaches the front gate.

"Hahaha! Nothing will stop me today! I'm getting past that gate no matter what."

The Dummy Meiling greats her with silence.

"Scared of my awesome strength? I don't blame you."

"..."

"Oh so it's the silent warrior treatment then? That won't scare me."

Cirno charges into battle.

Back Inside, going around the halls Marisa throws her arm in front of Meiling.

"Look there!"

She points at 4 fairy maids cleaning. The first is trying to clean the windows but the wiper drenched in water is to big and heavy for her, so she swings around every time it tries to use it. Truthfully it's mostly just splashing around without any cleaning. This leads to it and another fairy having a splash fight.

The third fairy shrugs and looks around before grabbing the rug for cleaning. The fourth just sits on the floor eating a piece chocolate wearing an oversize apron, presumably having wandered into the hall from the kitchen."

Meiling says, "Wow I never realized what goes on around here."

"Now do you see?"

"That fairy has broken one of the 5 Commandments of the mansion!"

"Wait really? That sounds pretty bad."

"Mhm." She confidently nods, "Eating chocolate is expressly forbidden outside the dining area."

"That's a commandment? Then what are the others?"

"No running waters flowing horizontally, No wooden stakes, No silver objects, and don't open any windows during the day without permission."

"Well uhh, I'll keep those in mind.", she then thinks to herself "Vampires are weak to chocolate?"before saying,"Hold on, we've gotten way off topic. All these fairies are cleaning like it's a game. They're playing house, they're not actually cleaning anything. Sakuya is obviously the one doing all the real work."

"I guess that's so... You're sure you've never seen anyone else do any real work?"

"Maybe on accident. But all the workers here are just putting on theater for what Remilia thinks goes in a mansion. I guess Patchouli does keep the Library."

"So I'm not needed at all then?"

"Uh... well that's..."

"Don't worry about it." She wearily takes her hat off looking at it, "I'll just go relieve dummy Meiling from her duty."

She walks back to the gate going past Cirno on the ground with her eyes spinning and the dummy standing over her.

Marisa says, "This is bad! I acted without thinking things through. I never imagined this job meant so much to her, or that I'd ruin her confidence. Sense it's my fault, for once I'll take responsibility and fix it."
