A/N: I've been a fan of Criminal Minds for months now and I've loved Emily from the moment she joined the team, but I've only just gotten around to writing fanfiction for her and Mendoza because the two of them have just gotten together in the previous episode I watched. I had to spoil it for myself to find out more about them, but it was worth it, haha! Please forgive me if anything is wrong, but I hope that you all enjoy this fic! X

Turning her cell-phone on silent once she had sent a text to the team's group chat to update them, Emily set it down on the table beside the bed before running a hand over her bump and somehow managing to turn over so that she was nose-to-nose with Andrew as he laid beside her in silence. She had been reluctant to stop texting Penelope and JJ since that had been one of the only things that had helped distract her from the pain she was in, but Andrew had been adamant that they both tried to get a little sleep because they were in for a very long night. She dreaded to think how long she was going to have to push for before their beautiful baby girl made her appearance, but just the thought of holding their daughter close for the first time was enough to make none of that matter to her in the slightest. She was beyond impatient.

For the past nine months she had been carrying her around within her body, making a mental note of each of her tiny kicks and movements, and now she and Andrew were mere hours away from meeting her and finding out what she looked like. The two of them had spent many a sleepless night debating such things. There weren't words to describe how excited the thought of meeting her little girl made her, but at the same time she could feel an overwhelming sense of fear eating away at her. She had known from the moment she and Andrew had started trying to conceive that there would be risks involved should she fall pregnant. She had known that the chances of birth defects were higher given her age, but she had shrugged those concerns off at the time because all she had thought about was how much she'd wanted a baby.

The last thing she had been expecting was to find out that her little girl had Down's syndrome.

She could still remember bursting into tears the moment she and Andrew had gotten back into the car after the scan, but in hindsight it had probably had more to do with the midwife suggesting she abort the pregnancy than finding out about her baby's disability. Her saying that had opened up the wounds that had only just begun to heal from the first time she had made that choice. Her first termination had been at the age of fifteen and the guilt and heartbreak she had experienced in result was still following her around to this day. To say that she had been a touch impolite in response to her suggestion would probably be an understatement. The last thing she had wanted to do was get rid of her baby just because it had a disability and was different. Things were going to be challenging, yes, but she didn't want to run from that.

A gentle kiss being brushed against her temple brought her back to the present after a time and she sighed as she looked at Andrew, laying a hand on his chest through his pajama shirt as he pulled her close to him beneath the blanket that covered them. 'Em...' His voice was soft and that told her that he knew exactly what was playing on her mind. 'You're scared and you're worried about her, I get that, but you have no need to be. You heard what the midwife said when she was examining you earlier on, baby, everything's fine and our little girl is healthy. I know that you're scared about taking her home and trying to figure out what to do, but you aren't doing it on your own and you know I'm not just saying that because I'll be there. This little princess has an entire team of aunts and uncles who are going to be around to help out.'

She couldn't help but laugh when he laid a hand on her belly. 'You know; I'm scared that Garcia will never leave. She's baby-mad.'

'Yeah, I gathered that when she showed up at the BAU with six bags of baby clothes last week.' He chuckled.

'Seven actually, my love, but I caught her doing some more online shopping when I walked in on her in her office the other day.' She sighed.

Shaking his head with a smirk, he gave her a squeeze and kissed her on the forehead before the two of them began settling down together. 'See, now that proves my point. We're surrounded by family which means that you don't have to be alone for a second if you don't want to be, even when there's a time when I'm not around for some reason. I'm not worried about you in the slightest though. You were born to be a mother, Emily, I don't care what anyone says and our baby girl is only going to love you more and more as she grows up, I'm sure of that.'

'SSA Mendoza, have I ever told you how much I love you?' She asked, her words trembling as her eyes brimmed with tears.

'Once or twice…' He hummed. 'But I wouldn't mind hearing it again.'

She laid her hand on the side of his neck and traced his jawline with her thumb. 'I love you so much.'

'I love you too.' He whispered before brushing several dark strands of hair out of her face and leaning in to press a tender kiss onto her lips.

When the two of them parted from their kiss some minutes later, she brought her hand to her mouth and yawned into her palm before they laughed together and he rolled onto his back so that she could snuggle into his side. 'Getting some sleep doesn't sound like too bad an idea now, you know.' She admitted as she draped her arm over his stomach and laid her head on his chest, her eyes closing as he kissed her hair.

'Why not try and get an hour then, beautiful? You'll be grateful for it later on, no doubt.' He smoothed a hand up and down her back.

Deciding not to answer him with words, she hummed sleepily in response before he pulled the blanket further over her and she grasped his pajama shirt in her hand. Once she had managed to make herself comfortable and she was sure that she would be able to sleep, she settled in his embrace and it didn't take long for the steady rise and fall of his chest and his rhythmic breathing to send her off into a deep slumber.

'Come on, baby, you got this…' Andrew murmured against Emily's hairline as he kissed her there before cradling the back of her head in his hand as she pressed her chin into her chest and prepared to start pushing again. She had been pushing for almost an hour now and she was doing incredibly well, but it seemed as though their little girl was just as stubborn as her mommy because she was definitely taking her time in moving down. The midwife had spoken to the two of them after the last push and told them that she would let her do three more pushes, but if there had been no change by then she would be taking her in for an emergency caesarean because it wouldn't be fair to keep putting so much strain on her and their daughter. There was no doubt in his mind that she would be able to do this without any intervention though.

'All right, Emily, let's go again. Big pushes.' Olivia, the midwife, encouraged from where she was standing at the end of the bed.

Once Andrew had slipped his free hand into hers and she had taken a deep breath, Emily began to push once again and was unable to keep herself from sinking her nails into the back of his hand as she let out a loud groan. She pushed for several long moments, but just as she felt as though she could go on no longer she felt a sudden burst of energy and managed to push slightly harder. It was then that she was able to feel the slightest movement and the gasp that Olivia let out as she observed told her that she had finally started to get the hang of pushing. 'Well done! Absolutely brilliant, Emily, that's exactly what I want. Keep that going for me now so that we can bring baby right down.' Olivia instructed before she felt Andrew tighten his hold on her hand and she pressed her chin further into her chest as she continued bearing down.

Somehow, she managed to continue pushing for about ten more seconds before the urge to breathe became too unbearable and she had to fall back against her pillow so that she could catch her breath. She panted, looking up at Andrew as he brushed her hair out of her face, and when he leaned down to kiss her gently on the lips she hummed happily. He allowed his kiss to linger for a second, but when he pulled back she opened her eyes again and smiled when he let go of her hand so that he could stroke her cheek. 'What was that for?' She asked quietly.

'Do I need a reason to kiss you?' He laughed.

'No, but there was definitely a reason for that one.' She told him.

'You're stronger than I give you credit for, that's all,' He shook his head. 'You're doing so good, Em, and you're making me so proud.'

She closed her eyes when he bent down to kiss her sweat-soaked forehead before looking over at Olivia. 'Please tell me that did something.'

'Well, I can see a ton of black hair, so I would say that it did something,' Olivia giggled. 'She's going to crown with this next contraction.'

Emily sighed with relief and allowed herself to relax at knowing that, the tension escaping her body as Andrew started combing his fingers through her hair in a soothing fashion. She knew that this next part was going to be painful. She had read about it in the many books JJ had sent to her throughout her pregnancy and she wasn't looking forward to it in any sense of the word, but once it was over she would be just minutes away from holding her baby girl in her arms and she knew that that would give her the motivation that she needed to endure that. For the next couple of minutes, she allowed herself to rest and focus on the feeling of Andrew caressing her face, but her back arched when she felt another contraction building up inside of her and she groaned with discomfort as she curled her toes into the thin sheet beneath her.

'You're going to want to push in a minute, Emily, but I don't want you to do that because it's going to make your baby's head come too fast. You need to pant and let your body do the work because it knows what it's doing, okay?' Olivia explained as Emily squeezed her eyes closed.

'Yeah.' She managed to nod.

She let Andrew take hold of her hand again as her contraction continued building and she stroked her thumb against the back of his palm, a sharp gasp escaping her when she felt her little girl move further down and an intense burning sensation began taking over her. The urge to push came as quickly as Olivia had said it would, so she began panting and squeezing Andrew's hand as she fought against the urge to bear down. She tried her hardest to conceal the pain that she was in from him, but it soon became too intense for her to ignore and she cried out in agony just as he began stroking her hair again. 'You're almost done, love, I promise…' She heard him soothe as tears rolled down her face.

She gritted her teeth for the next couple of seconds and sank her nails deeper into the back of his palm as she panted through the pain, but almost as soon as it had started it began to stop and she groaned with relief as she collapsed against her pillow. 'And the heads' out,' Olivia announced as she ran her fingers around the baby girl's throat to make sure the cord wasn't wrapped around it. 'Does daddy want to look?'

'Can I?' Andrew asked while smoothing his hand over Emily's hair.

'Go on.' She replied sleepily.

Releasing her hand, he moved down to the end of the bed before tears came to his eyes as he looked at his little girl's face for the first time. 'She's perfect…' He choked out while turning his head in Emily's direction, his love for her growing when she smiled. 'She looks just like you.'

'How much hair does she have?' She asked.

'She has a headful which explains all the heartburn you've been having.' He chuckled.

Despite her fatigue, she couldn't help but laugh before holding her hand out and saying: 'Come here.'

He did as she had asked and let her take his hand, their fingers entwining on instinct before he rested his other hand on her cheek and gave it a stroke. 'We made her…' He whispered as she looked at him through deep, exhausted brown eyes. 'I don't know how we did, but we did.'

'I love you.' She told him.

'I love you too.' He traced the curve of her ear with his thumb.

'One more big push now, Emily, and she's going to be here,' Olivia spoke up after a time. 'Do you think you can do that?'

Emily nodded her response before sitting herself up and allowing Andrew to rest a hand on the back of her head once again, the two of them sharing a smile as she looked up into his eyes for a moment before he pressed two kisses onto her forehead. 'Let's have this baby.' She said.

She turned her attention back to Olivia once they had readjusted their hold on one another's hand, pressing her chin to her chest and curling her toes into the sheet again before the young woman nodded at her and she took that as her cue to start pushing. She did so immediately, squeezing Andrew's hand as her cheeks turned red and she groaned deeply, and after just two minutes she felt her baby girl leave her body and burst into tears the moment her cries broke the silence. She had thought that there was no feeling in the world more perfect than being pregnant with her, but hearing her cry so loudly definitely topped that. She was healthy and had the strongest set of lungs on her, that was for sure. 'Hello, beautiful girl!' She heard Olivia coo at her baby as she placed her on the bed and started cleaning her off with a warm towel.

She looked up at Andrew after a moment-or-two and couldn't help but laugh at the sight of tears scrolling down his cheeks. 'You big softie.'

'You were incredible…' He cupped her face in his hands. 'I have never been prouder of you.'

'Just shut up and kiss me.' She ordered, reaching up to take him by the shirt and pull him down into a kiss that was soft and deep.

They were both panting heavily by the time their kiss came to its end, but before they even had the chance to catch their breath Olivia spoke to them again and they both turned their heads towards her with happiness in their eyes. 'Andrew, do you want to come and cut her cord?'

Andrew nodded before pressing one last kiss to Emily's temple and moving away from her, his hand trembling as Olivia handed him the pair of scissors before he cut between the clamps and took in the sight of his baby girl. She was more perfect than he'd ever expected her to be. Before he could look at her for too long though, Olivia lifted her from the bed and carried her around to Emily before helping her to tuck her inside her pajama shirt so that they could have skin-to-skin for the first time. Resting a hand on her baby's back through her shirt, Emily let out gentle shushes to soothe her as she started to cry again and pressed her lips to her forehead while silent tears danced down her cheeks. 'Hello, my darling…' She crooned softly to her, her heart swelling when her baby settled slightly and blinked at her at the sound of her voice.

'She knows that voice,' Andrew breathed as he was now standing beside her once again, his hand finding the back of their little girl's head so that he could stroke her thick black hair while she cuddled up to Emily. 'She knows her mommy already, look at how she's looking at you.'

Emily beamed. 'You really are the most beautiful girl in the world, aren't you?'

She had to admit that she had been hoping that the doctor had been wrong in saying that their little girl had Down's syndrome at her scan. She had heard of that happening in other cases and so she had been somewhat hopeful, but it was clear to her now that he had been right. Her baby girl had several different features that lined up with the condition, but she truly didn't care because she was still the loveliest little thing that she had ever seen and she was all hers. She finally had the little girl that she had wanted for as long as she could remember and she was certain that she had never been as in love as she was at that moment. Her baby was perfect in every way imaginable in her opinion.

'Let me take a picture to send to the team because you know Penelope will kill me if I don't.' Andrew said while pulling his cell-phone out.

Shaking her head with a giggle, she kissed the top of their daughter's head as she began to settle on her chest before resting her chin there and turning her head towards Andrew. She then smiled as he took several pictures of the two of them, her hand running up and down their baby's back to soothe her as she grizzled. Once he had finished taking the pictures he pushed his cell-phone back into the back pocket of his pants before moving closer to the bed and tucking a dark curl back behind Emily's ear. 'You are the most incredible woman I've ever known.'

'Why? Because I've given birth?' She raised a brow at him.

'Partly,' He nodded. 'But also because you went through so much during this pregnancy and you never complained.'

She sighed. 'Honestly, all of this has been a breeze compared to what I went through when I was at the BAU.'

'Even so, I couldn't be prouder of you.' He told her before pressing his lips to hers.

She lowered her gaze to their baby girl again once they had parted and smiled at seeing that she had fallen asleep on her, nothing but love for her in her eyes as she brought her hand to her face and traced the curve of her cheek with the back of her palm. 'She still needs a name.'

'You liked the name Harlow, didn't you?' He recalled, thinking back to when they had been curled up on the couch with a book of baby names.

She hummed. 'It signifies strength and steadfastness and she's quite a strong little thing in my opinion.'

'Harlow Penelope Mendoza,' He tested the name on his tongue while holding his girls close to him. 'It's perfect…'

Once he had walked out of the delivery suite after Emily had finished nursing Harlow for the first time and bringing her wind up, Andrew ran a hand over his face with a yawn before walking down the hall and smiling to himself at the sound of excited chattering around the corner. It hadn't surprised him when he had received a text from Penelope to say that she and the rest of the team had arrived at the hospital just ten minutes after he had sent the pictures of Emily and Harlow to the group chat. He had known that the lot of them had been standing by the phone from the moment Emily had called them from the car to let them all know that she had gone into labour and was heading to the hospital. Knowing that his little girl already had so many people in her life that cherished her made him happier than he could even explain.

The lot of them turned around to face him once he had rounded the corner and he chuckled when Penelope all but ran up to him and threw her arms around his neck. 'Congratulations!' She squealed once she had released him and the two of them had started to walk towards the rest of the team. 'How is she? Does she need anything because I can run across to McDonalds. How's the baby? How much does she weigh?'

'Both of them are doing fine,' He said to her as well as to the rest of the team once they had reached them. 'Emily was absolutely incredible tonight, but she's exhausted now and so I think the visits should be kept quite short so that she can rest. She wants you all to meet Harlow, but she says that she wants Dave to be the first one to go in and see her because she needs to speak with him. Is that all right with you all?'

The team murmured their agreement before he gestured with his head for David to follow him back down to the delivery suite, the two of them sharing a smile before they wandered through the hospital together in silence. It didn't take long for them to reach Emily's room and Andrew stopped once they were outside the door. 'You go in. She wants to speak to you alone, so I'll wait out here until you're both finished.'

David nodded in response before reaching for the doorknob and opening the door, his heart racing when Emily turned her head towards him as she sat up in bed and gave him a tired smile. He walked into the room that had been dimmed slightly so that she could rest before closing the door behind him, his gaze remaining fixed on her as he made his way over to the bed before pushing her fringe away from her forehead and kissing her there. 'Andrew said you wanted to speak to me about something,' He told her, keeping his voice down. 'Is everything okay?'

'Everything's fine, I promise,' She reassured him. 'I just have something to ask you and I wanted to do it away from the others.'

'Okay…go on.' He told her after sitting down on the edge of the bed.

She looked at Harlow for a second as she snoozed in the crib beside her and laid a hand on her belly through her sweater, stroking her thumb against it for a moment before she took a deep breath and turned her attention back to David. 'Would…would you be Harlow's godfather?'

'Her godfather?' The surprise was evident on his face.

She nodded with a smile. 'Andrew and I were talking about it a couple of weeks ago and we thought that choosing godparents for her would be a good idea. He's going to be going back to work in a month-or-so and even though I'm not an agent anymore, that doesn't necessarily mean I'm safe and we'd just feel more at ease knowing that she has someone to go to if something happens to the two of us. You've always been like a dad to me. You put me straight when you need to and you look out for me, so I was hoping you could do the same for her as she grows up. I also know that you missed out on spending time with Joy and Kai when they were babies, so I thought that being a godfather to Harlow might give you the chance to have the opportunities that you didn't have with them. What do you say? Will…will you do it? Please?'

Reaching for her hand, he took it in his and gave it a light squeeze. 'It would be an honour. Can I hold her?'

'Please,' She gestured towards the crib with her free hand before watching him rise from the bed and walk around to the other side, her gaze finding her little girl again as she watched David ease her out of the crib and into his arms while shushing her when she started to whimper. Harlow settled in no time at all once he had started stroking her hair and swaying from side-to-side with her and it warmed her heart to see how at ease she already was with him. There was no doubt in her mind that the two of them were going to be so close when she was older. 'I know that it's only been an hour since I had her, but she's been such an easy baby so far and that surprised me because I expected her to be crying non-stop. I think she must have gotten her temperament from her daddy though because Andrew's always so laid back unlike me.'

David laughed as he looked up from the newborn in his arms for a second. 'Well, with a face like this I'm sure she'll get away with anything.'

'She will, there's no doubt about that,' She smirked. 'She's going to have the lot of you wrapped around her little finger in no time.'

'I think your mommy may be right, sweetheart…' He softened his voice as he brought Harlow closer to him while she snoozed and pulled her blanket tighter around her little body to keep out the chill. 'Your aunt Penelope and uncle Spencer aren't going to stand a chance, are they?'

'Please tell me that Penelope hasn't got more gift bags with her.' Emily groaned teasingly.

He glanced over at her. 'Well, I could but then I would be telling a lie.'

'I love you all so much, you know that?' She leaned back against her pillow and covered herself further with her blanket.

'We do and we love you just as much,' He replied while walking towards her with Harlow. 'Now, I should probably go so that the others can come and see you because neither of you will be getting any sleep tonight until the lot of them have been in here and had a cuddle with her.'

He lowered the newborn into her arms before running a hand over her hair as she held her daughter close and watched her curl her fingers into her pajama shirt, a sigh escaping him when she lifted her head again and looked him in the eye. 'Thank you for coming.' She whispered.

'No problem,' He drew the backs of his fingers down her cheek. 'Try and get some rest now, all right?'

'All right…' She replied before bringing one hand to her mouth as she yawned. 'Goodnight, Dave.'

'Goodnight, Emily.'

She then watched him turn on his heel and make his way over to the door before he opened it and slipped back out into the corridor where Andrew was standing, a smile crossing her lips as she gazed down at her little girl once again and pressed a kiss to her nose as she snuffled. David had been right in saying that it would be a while before she and Harlow would be able to get any rest since the entire team were out there, desperate to see them both and have a cuddle with their new niece, but she didn't mind about that half as much as she had thought she would. Those people out there weren't just her friends and ex-colleagues, they were her family and knowing that she and Andrew had such a support system was just the best feeling. She loved each and every one of them with all her heart and that was never going to change.

Not ever.

Emily tucked her head into Andrew's neck and sighed with contentment when he kissed her hair and caressed her arm as they laid together later that night, their beautiful baby girl settled on her chest beneath her pajama shirt as they shared skin-to-skin once again and she gave her back a gentle rub. She had finally had a chance to shower and change into some clean clothes once the team had headed home and she had to admit that it had helped her feel much more comfortable. She just wanted to sleep now and not be bothered again for the rest of the night, so as soon as Harlow was asleep she would dress her and lie her in her crib with her pacifier and the blanket Penelope had crocheted. 'Comfortable?' She heard Andrew mumble into her hair when she sighed for a second time and grazed her nose against the side of his neck.

'Very…' She kissed him on the neck before tilting her head back on his shoulder and looking up into his eyes.

'What's going on behind those beautiful brown eyes of yours?' He flirted which made her smile and roll her eyes at him.

'You're up to something.' She told him.

His brow creased. 'Am I?'

'You know you are, you've been looking over at your jacket for the best part of an hour now and I can hear it in your voice.' She pointed out.

'Sometimes I forget that you were a profiler, you know,' He smirked while giving her a warm squeeze before taking his arm from around her and rising from the bed, her gaze following him as he walked over to the chair on which he had thrown his jacket before he picked it up and turned to her again. 'When I was planning to do this I wanted to wait until we were with the others, but after sitting here and watching you go through all you went through tonight I realised that I don't want to wait any longer,' He reached into his jacket pocket and retrieved the little red box he had hidden in there before they had left the apartment, his heart racing when she gasped and lifted her hand to her mouth. 'I've never been the best at speeches as you know, so I'm just going to have to wing this one and pray that it comes out the way I want it to.'

She watched him sit down on the edge of the bed through tear-filled eyes before taking her hand from her mouth and sliding it into his own when he held his hand out to her, her hold of their baby girl tightening as she swallowed the lump in her throat and gazed at him for a time. 'Emily Prentiss, I want to spend however long remains for me on this earth with you. I want your face to be the first thing I see when I wake up and the last thing I see before I fall asleep and I want to prove to our daughter how much I love you. I want her to know how much I care about you and how much I respect you because I never want her to settle for anything less than that when she's grown up and on her own. You are the most amazing woman I have ever met. You're loyal, you're loving, you're funny and you make the best burnt toast in the world.'

She laughed at that, cradling Harlow's head to her chest as tears fell down her cheeks. 'Well, that's true.'

He chuckled along with her before lifting her hand to his lips and leaving the gentlest kiss to the back of her palm, running his thumb across her knuckles. 'Our relationship has been rocky in the past and I'm not even going to talk about how hard doing it long-distance was for me, but that's why I'm doing this. There isn't too much that I can be sure about in this world, but if there's one thing I know for certain then it's that I don't want to waste another minute of our time together. So…' He opened the velvet box to reveal the stunning diamond ring he had bought for her a couple of months back. 'Emily Prentiss, will you make me the happiest man living and do me the honour of being my wife?'

'Yes…' She breathed. 'Yes, yes, yes.'

She held her left hand out to him then, bringing her other hand to settle upon Harlow's back while she watched him remove the engagement ring from the box and slide it onto her finger. He then moved up the bed once again and she shuffled over to make room for him, the two of them pressing their foreheads together for a moment as he cupped her cheek in his hand before he caught her in a soft yet passionate kiss. She hummed into his mouth as his thumb traced her jawline, his lips moving lightly over hers as she responded to his kiss and leaned further into him. The two of them could have stayed in their passionate embrace for the rest of time, they were quite certain about that, but as per usual life just wasn't that fair to them and so it wasn't surprising when Harlow began fussing and they were all but forced to break the kiss.

'Hey…' Emily soothed as she turned her head in their daughter's direction and grazed her nose with hers, kissing her forehead warmly after.

'Mommy said yes,' Andrew whispered, using the tip of his forefinger to stroke the back of Harlow's hand. 'How lucky is your daddy?'

Emily turned her head towards him again and shook her head. 'You're such an idiot, you know.'

'Maybe, but you love that about me.' He laid his hand on her neck, kissing the tip of her nose.

'You're lucky that I do.' She smirked.

The two of them laid in silence with their daughter for quite some time after that, simply studying her perfect little features and making the most of their time alone with her, but when Emily yawned again he brushed his thumb against her arm. 'You need to try and get some rest, so why don't you let me take her and I'll get her changed and settled in her crib. The medication is helping, I know, but it's going to wear off overnight and you're going to feel it ten times worse in the morning if you don't give yourself enough time to relax and recuperate tonight.'

'You're right.' She admitted.

'Can I get that in writing?' He teased.

'I may have just had a baby and I may be exhausted, but I've still got enough strength to punch you if you wind me up tonight.' She warned.

He kissed the back of her head, smiling into her hair. 'Noted.'

When she eased their little girl out from underneath her pajama shirt and eased her into his arms, he cradled her close to him and brushed his thumb against her leg as she grizzled for a moment-or-two before settling and curling her fingers into the coarse dark hair on his chest. 'You get comfortable and I'll sort this little one out.' He reassured his fiancée once he had taken his eyes off of their daughter and looked at her again, the two of them sharing a smile before he rose from the bed with Harlow in his arms and she laid down beneath the thin blanket.

She tucked a hand beneath her cheek as she watched him carry their little girl over to the chair and sit down with her, settling her across his lap as he reached into one of the bags that Penelope had left and pulling out the footie pajamas. It didn't take him long to put a new diaper on her and get her dressed in her pajamas, and once he had lowered her down into her crib and wiggled her pacifier into her mouth he ran a hand over her hair and sighed. 'Night-night, beautiful…' He whispered before walking around to the other side of the bed and drawing back the blanket, his nose burying itself in Emily's neck as he laid down and wound an arm around her from behind so that he could pull her close. 'Think you might be able to get some sleep now?' He hummed in her ear when she settled in his arms and laid her hand over his on her belly.

'Yeah, just don't leave.' She replied, nuzzling her cheek against her pillow.

'I won't leave. I promise.' He reassured her as they settled down to sleep.

A comfortable silence then fell over the room as they laid together and it wasn't long before their closeness and the sound of their steady breathing lulled them both into a deep slumber.

A/N: Thank you all so much for reading chapter one and I hope that you liked it! I'd be grateful if you would leave a review to let me know what you thought as this is the first time I've ever written for this fandom and feedback would be appreciated! Please be gentle though, haha x
