Disclamer: Everything from Horikoshi... I will just sit here and hug my babies until they realize they adore each other...

I wouldn't have been able to write this without Hitzuji's, Milenrrama's and Nea Poulain's help... Thank you!

The story happens at the time when Bakugou and Todoroki are going to their remedial classes for the license and, the rest of the students and heroes haven't battled against Overhaul.

Midoriya couldn't sleep. He rolled over in bed and closed his eyes very tightly, trying to fall asleep, but it was not possible. All because he had taken a nap in the afternoon and now he was not actually tired.

He got out of bed and sat on the windowsill, leaning back against the wall. He watched the sparkling stars in the sky and practically heard the moon sending him to sleep; it seemed unaware of the insomnia he had that night.

"I could exercise and thus exhaust my body to sleep more easily."

He had a thought running through his mind, but he could not identify what he had left unfinished during the day, even after writing in his journal the progress he had made in training and adding some data that he had learned about the quirks of his teammates.

"You didn't apologize to him," a voice whispered inside his head, but he didn't understand what it meant. He thought about it for a moment, reliving everything he had done during the day in his mind as if it were from a movie:

At breakfast he ate some tsukemonos while chatting about Best Jeanist and the way he had controlled Bakugo from destroying his agency during the practices.

On the way to the first class they saved a very cute kitten, it was white with light brown spots. In one leap he reached the top of the tree where the cat was, but couldn't grab the little animal until after a couple of strokes on his back. He took it delicately in both hands and realized that the poor cuteness was trembling; he jumped back to the ground and placed the cat on the grass, but did not go too far from him.

"Maybe I stepped on him before jumping or when I came down... I may have fallen on his foot without realizing it."

During classes he couldn't think much about other things because he would fall further behind than he already was. But in the break he had commented to Uraraka that he was reflecting a lot lately about what he had done wrong during the Sports Festival and how he could train himself to avoid making the same mistakes. At that moment he had not realized that the other boys who were at the same table had stopped talking and now they were listening to him murmur.

"Is he upset that all I did was explaining new ways to beat him and Kacchan? Is he still trying to understand why I made him use his left side during our encounter?"

At the end of the classes he had to go to All Might's to somehow convince him to go talk to Sir. Nighteye to reconcile. They both seemed to suffer from their separation, but neither dared to let go of his pride and take the first step.

He returned to the dorm after giving up on his mentor, understanding how stubborn All Might could be. Upon entering, he was surprised not to see all of his schoolmates together in the common area; there were only three of the girls on a sofa and Todoroki on one side of the door with which he went out to the patio, and the others outside. He passed the boy without paying so much attention and joined those who were sitting on the grass.

"Was he there? Did I hit him when I came out? You said my name and I didn't hear it? I do not know!"

He studied for a while with the boys under Yaoyorozu's supervision; with her they reviewed some calculations and the last English classes.

He got up to answer a call from Sir. Nighteye about the investigation of the terrorist group Shie Hassaikai and judging by the way Kirishima, Uraraka and Asui looked at him seconds later, he understood that what Nighteye had told him was the result of the joint investigation and it seemed to be a difficult problem to resolve.

The four of them stood aside to brainstorm the new information they had. Midoriya was aware of Todoroki's insistent gaze behind him, but he tried to ignore the feeling until they came up with a possible logical solution to the problem posed.

Just as Midoriya was about to turn to go and talk with Todoroki, Eraserhead entered the building. He told them that the next day's classes had been canceled and that it was forbidden to leave the complex until further notice. The teacher looked more tired than usual and spoke in a different tone, as if he was a candle about to go out.

He went to his room so he could think more calmly but he fell asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow. He woke up abruptly a few hours later and realized that it was already getting dark; he could see the last rays of sunlight coming through the window.

He left the room, noticing that it was starting to get cold, and joined his fellow students.

"Could it be that I interrupted him? Maybe he wanted to say something and I didn't let him get ahead of myself on some other topic. I don't remember him talking much all day."

Midoriya wished he could tell the others about the drug dealers, explain why he was so distracted, and tell them about little Eri, but Eraserhead had made him promise not to say anything to those who did not participate in the joint work studies. He knew that he had to do something to regain the teacher's trust and that would be the first step.

Then they went to dinner; he was very hungry even though he didn't end up eating as much because he kept thinking about Sir. Nighteye's call. He was aware that he made his classmates nervous when he stared at the bowl of miso soup with blank-looking eyes. He didn't want to do it, but it wasn't easy to focus on something else with the image of Eri crying and walking away from him constantly spinning through his mind.

Todoroki started to explain something to him about a special move that he had been practicing but he couldn't remember exactly what he said to him; he saw him go into his room a few seconds later.

"It may have been there. Surely he realized that I was not paying attention and went to his room. I didn't see him again after that."

He was almost entirely certain that he had come to the correct conclusion. He hadn't realized that he had been the problem and that he had been disrespectful by not listening to him. He lowered his face, embarrassed by his behavior. His eyes filled with tears as he decided that he should try to apologize before sleeping.

"I just have one problem… Is he not asleep at this hour? I'm not going to wake him up and ask him to forgive me, am I?"

He walked in circles around the room considering whether he should go now or wait and speak to him in the morning, deliberating whether he would not do more harm to Todoroki by going to his room in the middle of the night and annoy him with his presence. "Maybe I'm worrying too much about the consequences."

A couple of minutes passed before he decided that he had nothing to lose and that it would be better if he spoke once, and without interruptions, with Todoroki to solve the problem, accepting that perhaps he was making a mistake and had nothing to worry about; still not totally sure of the reason why he should ask for forgiveness.

Before opening the door to his room, he realized another problem he had: What was he going to say to Todoroki? How did he plan to find out if he had had a problem with him? A part of his mind was telling him to go into his room and have a normal conversation with him until he could bring up the issue. But there was also the calculating and logical part, which asked him to think of the words he would use to find out if he had to apologize for something or not.

The impulsive part won because he didn't want to think about it anymore so he left his room on the second floor and stopped in front of the elevator before deciding that he would take the stairs.

He took the steps two at a time to the fifth floor and turned left to get to the boys rooms. He knew that the door that marked Todoroki's room was the third one because that was not the first time he had passed by at night; although this time it was different.

He could see that Todoroki had the light on because of the faint glow coming from under the door. Could something else have happened to him? Will I make his situation worse by being here? He stood for a few seconds in the dark still considering whether it was a good idea what he was going to do.

"I never let him rest and tomorrow it will show on his face that he has not slept well." Midoriya was still undecided and he was also worried that his classmates might have some misconceptions about what was happening within those four walls and, therefore, he always ended up running back to his room before dawn.

He tapped the wood three times in a specific way; that was his way of letting him know that it was he who was knocking on the door, and he turned the knob slowly before pushing in a little:

"Can I pass?" He asked, eyes closed, sticking his head into the hole he had created between the door and the door frame.

"Just close the door behind you," Todoroki whispered a few seconds later.
