Authors note: this fic will be a unrequited Naruhina On naruto side. This will be a Narusaku & Sasuhina fic where Naruto will be unhappy, because of decisions he made, to make everyone happy. Sasuke and Hinata will have a happy marriage. Naruto will be unhappy just like Sakura. I just wanted to write a angst/bitter Naruhina. Everytime I read one, most of the time Hinata is the suffering one. So I thought I just reverse it. Plus my sasuhina heart will get some satisfaction. Please be aware that this fic will not end happy for naruto. NARUHINA IS NOT THE ENDGAME. The endgame will be, just as I said before - a happy sasuhina and miserable narusaku. I won't use Japanese honorifics except for *sensei* so don't wonder why Hinata calls Neji her brother. Hinata will be depressing for the first few chapters but that will change soon. Also I thought about switching Sakura up with Ino but I think Sakura fits better. If you see any mistakes don't hesitate to correct me! And if you're not a fan of Sasuhina or unrequited Naruhina where naruto suffers then I would advise you to not read this fic. A Little Spoiler by the way, Naruto will confront hinata about his feelings and there will be a lot of tears and pain. Read at your own risk !!!!!!

Naruto is staring at a crying Sakura. He just can't look at her face, when she's looking so sad. His heart cracks at the sight of her. Yeah he's happy with Hinata and he couldn't imagine a better mother then Hinata for his kids. Boruto and Himawari, the fruit of their love. The proof of the love, the two of them share.

But if he takes a glance at Sakura's crying face, he asks himself, if he would be a better husband for her. The love he had for her was real, even if a lot of people thought that it was just a childish crush. Immediately the words of his mother goes through his head.

Find a Girl like me.

She's strong like his mother, brash like his mother, loud like his mother, lovely like his mother, aggressive like his mother, combative like his mother, caring like his mother and just as lovable.

Is the thought alone considered cheating ? No Hinata would never consider that as cheating. She's a good person and she would surely understand his train of thoughts.

Back to the problem. So he really tries listening to Sakura's rambling about Sasuke, Sarada and her worklife. But if she's so unhappy why wouldn't she change something? It's so easy, so why does she insists on making her life harder then it is?

She has the choice. She can divorce Sasuke. Be stricter towards Sarada. Cut some work. So why don't she try to relieve some of the problems? In his opinion all of this is her own fault.

„Sakura I really try to understand your problems but I can't follow you, ya know?" Sakura looks up, puzzled.

She has a glare on, as she asks „Naruto did you not listen to me?".

He gulps as he understands how wrong his wordings sound. So he looks her dead in the eyes and murmurs „Sakura your problems are amendable. You don't need to play the strong one all the time. You have solutions for your problems."

That got Sakura pretty shocked, because of all the things she wanted to hear, that was not one of them. She really wants to know why he would say something like that, when he clearly knows, how vulnerable she is right now.

She needs to leave his office because she don't want to be confronted with this. If she doesn't leave, someone will get injured. And she's sure it wouldn't be her. So she does the only right thing.

Leaving him there as she darts off, but not before saying aloud "I thought your feelings for me were gone, and i really hope I'm not imagining things. Don't think, that if I ever leave Sasuke, you would be my second chance".

So after the argument Naruto sats there alone, in his office and the only thought is, if this whole ordeal really happened. Why would Sakura think so lowly of him? He wouldn't switch Hinata just to be with Sakura. Or would he? Maybe he would, but just to make Sakura feel better.

The love he holds for Hinata is real and Hinata knows it too. He don't need to prove it to anyone. But for him, Sakura's happiness matters too, cause he grew with her and she was his love for a long time too.

He just wish she would know where her place in his heart is. He would do anything to make her happy. And in his opinion, she should be happy too, cause as everyone knows, nobody gives a fuck about her wellbeing.

Not even Sasuke or her daughter..

She's really ungrateful if he thinks about it.

With these thoughts plaguing his mind, he lets darkness consume him, as he slowly closes his eyes to take a short nap.

The only thing Naruto remembers as he wakes up, is the heated discussion between Sakura and him.

He tries to make out where he is, because it's definitely not his office. It looks more like the hospital? But what happened at his office after taking a nap? And why is he lying in the bed as if he was hospitalized?

He looks around and sees the red button beside the bed his lying in. He presses it a couple of times. He's slowly panicking and his heart rate picks up. The only noise in the whole room is the beating drum of his heart.

There's a blur on the door before he realize that someone rushed in. He slowly tries to realize who is attending him. And before he knows it, his blue eyes are locking with jade green eyes. Those eyes comforted him through his childhood. Through the bad times with sasuke.

"Sakura? Why am I here? And why are ya wrinkles gone?" Sakura looked puzzled and a sweat drop appeared near her forehead.

"Waking up 4 weeks after the war and that's the only thing you got to say to me?!??! You're lucky that you're bound to the bed, cause I have no problem to beat you into coma again!!"

His eyes widened. What the fuck? One moment he takes a nap, the other moment he wakes up in a different timeline ? That's gotta be a genjutsu.

He turns towards Sakura "how old am I?" He asks concerned. Sakura thought at first that he's joking around, but after looking at his intense gaze, she knows that he's for real.

"Naruto you're 17. We won the war, but I think you have a memory loss, if you don't even remember your age. I need to put you through some test don't worry. I'm just happy that you're fine Naruto-kun" she said with a glint in her eyes.

Naruto need to figure out what the fuck happened. He needs to lie, whilst they're doing the tests, otherwise they order Ino to probe his mind, and that wouldn't end well. Especially when he's living in the past.. any mistake from his side would alter the future.

After doing some tests Sakura came to the conclusion that Naruto just has a mild brain concussion. Therefor he lost some memories, but with time he would remember the things he forgot.

Sakura was really scared. She thought that she would lose him during the war. She thought that the danger he was going through would take him away. Away from her. She thought the feelings she harbored for Sasuke would last till doomsday. But the scare she was put through, during the war and even after that, taught her a lesson.

She was never anxious like that. Not even when Sasuke was a rouge. Maybe because she believed in him? She knew that Sasuke would always be safe, because he has enough strength. But even then.. there was never a Moment were she was as concerned for him, like she was for Naruto.

Did she have a change of heart? Or is it the fear of losing him? There's also the fact that Hinata is in love with him since before the academy. She needs to sort her feeling out. It wouldn't be fair for Hinata. But if Naruto's love is reserved for Sakura there would be nothing Hinata could do. And if she really loves him.. she would let him go. And be happy for him. Because his luck should be important to her. Important enough to let him be with the one he really loves.

And that would be her. Since academy days Naruto was in love with her. Even as they got divided in teams. Naruto, Sasuke and her. He always loved her despite the fact that she was in love with his rival.

Maybe she would talk to Naruto after his release from the hospital.

Sakura wanted to visit Naruto before ending her night shift. She can't leave him alone like that, especially when he's in need of some companion. He was alone all his life so maybe that would make him feel better.

Before she was getting in the room she decided to freshen up in the toilet. A little bit lipgloss on her lips and a ruffle for her hair. Now she looked a lot fresher. Maybe she could fish some compliment too.. if he would be up for it. After all naruto always has some compliments for her.

Knock*Knock

"Naruto are you awake?"

She don't want to intrude or anything, so she awaits till he gives some confirmation, to open the door.

"Uh yeah Sakura just come in."

She opens the door but not before thinking that he sounds a little bit troubled? Or maybe it's her imagination.

"So my shift ends shortly and I thought it would be a good idea to look after you. I hope the other nurse explained everything to you. If you have some questions I could answer them quickly?"

"Uh no I understood everything, thanks"

Okay now Sakura is 100% sure that Naruto hides something. Maybe he is in pain? He would never act like that.

"Is anything wrong Naruto? Do you have pain somewhere?"

"No Sakura everything's all right I'm just a bit shaken up ya know?"

Oh okay maybe he needs to process everything. That would make sense since he just woke up after winning a war.

"Alright if you need anything don't hesitate to call out for help okay? By the way Sasuke is 3 rooms away. I will come back tomorrow for you and i could even get you some ramen? If you want to of course."

What is the fuzzy feeling inside of Sakura's belly as Naruto looks so intently at her ? A blush creeps up her cheeks and she desperately tries to hide it with a small giggle.

"Uh yes that would be nice. Do you know when they plan to release me?"

"You're free to go after tomorrow. I would still do some house calls of course. Just to be sure that you're safe."

Naruto sighs. He just wants to go home and think about the whole ordeal. Plus he needs to find Hinata. Especially if the timestamp is after the war. After all she would be sad after losing Neji. He knows it better then anyone else, because he lived through this time, in the past.

"Okay Sakura, goodnight."

Sakura can't even reply. Did he want her to be gone so bad? Maybe he needs to come around after all the things he gone through.

"Goodnight Naruto, sleep well."

She exits his room and finally he's able to calm down and figure out what to do. Maybe all this is just a bad dream. He will wake up any moment. But would a dream really feel so real? Should he visit Sasuke? Maybe tomorrow in the morning. Now he just wants to close his eyes and drift into sleep. After all he has a lot to figure out.

After Sakura checked out of the hospital, she got on her way home, as fast as possible. Since the end of the war, she was deprived of her sleep. In her opinion, she did more than enough, to earn herself some long awaited sleep. Maybe the events of today would made it more difficult for her to sleep..

A sweep of long dark hair caught her attention. Is that Hinata? What is she doing here, in the middle of the night?

"Hinata is that you?" Sakura asks loud enough for the person in front of her to hear.

The person turns around. Indeed it's Hinata. She waits ahead, as Sakura tries to catch up with her.

"Hinata, is everything alright? What are you doing out there so late?"

Hinata needs to compose herself. She tries to hide the sadness inside of her. She should be lying in the grave of her brother and she prays to all the gods above, to grant her wish. He didn't deserve to die. Especially not for a weakling like her. The nightmares won't leave her alone. Every time she close her eyes, the only thing she's seeing is the corpse of him. Lying there in his own blood. Helpless.. just like her now.

The bond they shared was incomparable. She knows that she's not the only one who lost someone. Tenten and Lee lost their teammate. Gai Sensei lost his pupil. Her sister lost her cousin. Her father lost his nephew. And all of his friends lost him too.

But why does she feel like, nobody understands the pain she's feeling? She's alone just like always. But before he died there was always someone that she could go to. Someone that was there for her, despite everything that happened.

Without him she would be dead. What did he think as he shielded her? That she would be happy without him? That she would be happy, to be the reason for his death?! She wants to be grateful.. she really wants to, but it's hard when you lost the solidity in your life.

Should she live for her brother or bring all of this to an end? His life would be gone for nothing if she does it. Maybe in time she would heal. Hopefully Kami will decide to end her life before she gets to heal, because that's the only thing she deserves after all.

"nata, Hinata do you even listen?"

"Yeah Sakura my thoughts drifted away I'm sorry."

Sakura looked apologetically at her. The war really worn her out. She doesn't even have the light in her eyes anymore.

"It's alright Hinata, I thought we could take a walk together. It would be safer for us."

Hinata nodded and they both walked off.

"By the wake Naruto woke up. I thought I should let you know."

Hinata's eyes widened. Wow after all the weeks he finally woke up. She should pay him a visit as soon as possible. To let him know that the death of her brother, is not his fault.

"Oh okay.. can I visit him?"

"Of course Hinata, that why I told you. You could pay him a visit tomorrow. He will be released in the evening so you should be early."

Hinata nodded in confirmation. Maybe the visit would clear her mind. It would be good for her mental health.

After they got to their destinations, they booth bid their goodbyes.

It would be a long night. For all of them. Especially for Naruto who tries to plan out what to do. He needs a solution.. as soon as possible.

Otherwise he will alter the future.
