Chapter One: The Journey Begins

The bus smelled of something unpleasant, he could not figure out if it were old rotten food, or something fouler. Out of the window he could only see trees, trees, and more trees, in the meantime he kept having empty food packets dumped on him which he knew that if he brushed them off, someone would shout that he was littering and then he would get shouted at to everyone's amusement. Soon the bus entered a small town compiled of houses, a marketplace and a "Welcome to Littlewood Town" sign, the bus ground to a halt and the bus driver shouted for the children to collect their bags and to get off the bus.

Marshall waited until the charging had concluded and he stood up, put the food packets into the black rubbish bag, and left the bus having picked up his squashed bags and being mocked for having crumbs on his jumper by the crowd of students, with the usuals of Florina and her posse, Sigurd, and his friend and finally Kyrone and his gang, there were three other people in the crowd as well, two he saw on the bus and one right next to a slightly portly man. The two he saw on the bus, one he could partly tell was a girl only by her slight mannerisms and eyes, since she was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans and had earbuds in the ears and was listening to something on it, she also had a single Pokéball on her waist indicating that she had already caught a Pokémon beforehand, the other person he could tell was definitely tell was a girl as she was wearing a grey dress and had pigtails and was clearing reading from a book and was occasionally looking up now and again to see where she was and looking down again. The one next to the slightly overweight man was obviously a boy who had his fathers smile and was wearing an open green jacket and white shirt combo.

The man tried to get everyone's attention then a teacher who was part of the group blew a whistle, which made everyone jump and then the man began to speak "Hello. Welcome to the world of Pokémon! I am Professor Birch, as my names suggests, I study Pokémon for all sorts of reasons like battling and breeding and all sorts. Anyway, I have been alerted that you would like to start your own Pokémon journey, am I right?" They nodded. "Well before it can begin all I have to say is this: Please stay in groups of 3 to 5 and make sure you don't do anything illegal and most importantly, have fun." Professor Birch opened a large bag and after a grand total of thirty seconds of scrambling around with everyone grabbing Pokéballs and dashing off in the direction of the next town, only 3 people other than the adults remained, Marshall, the black hooded girl, and the green jacket boy. The boy walked over to Marshall, and said "Hey, you haven't got a Pokémon have you?" He shook his head and the boy walked over to the bag and picked up the only Pokéball left, and the boy gave it to him. Marshall pressed the button on it and out of a cyan beam of energy, a small aqua coloured Pokémon appeared, it opened its mouth and began to speak "Mudkip." Marshall bent down and began to mimic it "Mudkip." "Mudkip." "Mudkip." Mudkip." The boy smirked and again bent down and asked. "Hey, you're on your own aren't you?" Marshall nodded, to which the boy responded, "How about you come along with me and… her." The boy pointed to the black hooded girl, grabbed Marshall's hand, walked over to the girl, grabbed her arm and the trio walked onwards to their next destination.
