This is my First Doctor Who fic so please be gentle!
I am so excited for this one! It begins just after the Doctor regenerates to the 12th doctor, and Ive changed it up so Clara will only be a background character, as well as changing some of the plot!

The TARDIS comes to a crashing stop, sending me flying back and away from the console, I whimper as I hit the wall, sliding to the ground, I shakily sit up, wincing as everything hurt, we had been flying dangerously fast through time and space, crashing and being attacked, until finally we had stopped, I cautiously stand, seeing the doctor stumble to his feet before a knock came from the doors, he walks to them and opens the door, my eyes widen when I see Strax standing there as the doctor shushes him and slams the door on his face, he walks away from the door for a moment before returning and opening it again "I was being chased by a giant dinosaur but I think I managed to give it the slip" he slams the door once more before immediately opening it again, as if his mind was still trying to restart.
I frown softly and get up the stairs to the console, watching him as he starts calling Strax different the names of the dwarves from Snow White, I sigh softly and make my way towards the doors as he talks with Vastra and Jenny, I get to the doors and lean against the still closed one tiredly, my hair and clothes a mess from being thrown around.
I have been traveling around with the doctor for quite a while now and he had told me about his regeneration but I had never seen it in person, it honestly frightened me, he wasn't I self anymore, he didnt even seem to remember most of us.
I step out of the TARDIS and the doctor looks back, frowning and pointing at me "who are you? What are you doing in my TARDIS?" He asks angrily, my heart sinks more as he marches up to me, pulling me away and shutting its doors before shooing me aside and returning to stand next to VAstra "how did she get on my ship?" He asks her sounding very confused and out of breath, she goes to speak but is cut off by a roar of the massive dinosaur stomping around in the water near us, I stiffen and look up to it, my heart starting to race.
The doctor shouts "Oi! Big man! Shut it!" To the dinosaur, it actually seems to make it pause as it looks down at him, but after a moment the doctor looks back to Vastra then runs towards it a few feet "Oh! you've got a dinosaur too!" It roars at him again and he pauses "big woman, sorry!" He says, I start to get more and more worried the closer he keeps getting to it, I quickly walk towards him, trying to keep from startling the creature "Doctor? You need to calm down, your still not all there" I say worriedly but he shoos my hand away, the Dino roars again and I step back to stand nearly between Vastra and Jenny, my heart racing with worry "I dont know what's happened...IO think somethings gone wrong with his regeneration" I say worriedly.
The Doctor turns and comes up to me, I nearly stumble back at his speed as he points at me "I-I remember you" he says, my heart leaps but only for a moment before he continues "you're handles! You used to be a little...a little robot head!" I frown softly "and now you...you've really let yourself go" he says as if he was almost scolding me, my hands fall to my sides as I watch him.
He moves away to stand next to the wall as the dinosaur seems to try and speak with him with another roar before he turns to face us again "Reduce the frequency" he says as he comes back over quickly, nearly tripping over a rope in the process, we all watch in confusion as he orders them to turn the frequency of the sonic lanterns down "you're giving her a headache" Jenny frowns more as the doctor walks toward the Dino again "giving who a headache?" She asks "My lady friend!" He nearly yells out happily, his Scottish accent coming through heavily in that short sentence.
The doctor then starts to ramble as if bouncing between talking to us and the dinosaur before looking to us, but he's frowning now, my heart sinks more and I step a little closer to him "Doctor?" I ask worriedly, he squints his eyes as he starts to sway a little, stepping back "why are you all doing that? Why are you all going dark?" He starts to look more out of it and almost scared "and wobbly...stop that.." he murmurs, I frown worriedly and step closer to him again "we aren't, Doctor, we need..." he cuts me off and faces away "never mind! Everyone, take five!" He says before collapsing , my eyes widen "Doctor!" I yell, running to his side and kneeling next to him, carefully rolling him on to his side so he didn't breath in any of the sand.
Jenny shakes her head "I dont understand, who is he? Where's the doctor?" I frown as I look up to her "he's right here, he is the doctor...he's regenerated" I say and look back down to him worriedly, the other three help me get him up and into their carriage and to their home, once there we get him into a spare room, he soon wakes up and I manage to make him change into a nightgown before he starts rambling on about how the room didnt make any sense to him and why I was in here when he didnt know me, I looks past me to Jenny "why is she still here?" He asks angrily before pushing me out of the room and closing the door, my heart sinks sadly as I listen to them try and calm him down and explain why the bedroom had a bed, I quickly lean against the wall outside the room, my mind racing, how could he forget me?
Not too long after Vastra had gotten the doctor to sleep and I come back in and help them get him under the covers, i frown as I watch him breathing softly in his sleep "why has this happened...?" I ask sadly, more to myself than anyone and the other two look to each other sadly before Jenny speaks up "sometimes he isn't all there after he regenerates, it may take him some time to...regain his memory's" she explains, I nod softly and after a while of silence they quietly leave, Jenny telling me my guest room was just down the hall from his and if I'd need dinner i was free to get some from the kitchen, I quietly thank her before they are gone.
I kneel down next to the bed, my arms resting on it and my chin resting on my arms "what has happened to you..." I murmur sadly, after some time I grab a chair and quietly sit down near his bed, exhausted but not wanting to leave him alone in case he panicked when he woke up, I slowly start to fall asleep, leaning back in the chair tiredly, but as I doze there's a sudden noise and a scrambling sound, I sit up quickly and look around, my eyes widen when I see chalk drawings covering the floors and walls, any surface that was blank, I stand and gasp as I see the bed is empty and the window open, I rush to it and look out, not seeing him anywhere I rush out of the room and downstairs "the Doctor! The Doctor is gone!" I say loudly, my heart racing.
Vastra comes running out with Jenny "what? Where has he gone?" Jenny asks quickly "I dont know! He's drawn all over his room and the window was open" I say quickly, Vastra nods "then we go find him..." she says only for a very loud bang and roar to echo out over the city, My eyes widen as does theirs "that came from the river" Vastra says, I nod and she quickly yells for Strax to get the carriage ready, I join them quickly as we jump into the carriage outside and take off towards the river, I grab the small necklace from under my shirt, grasping it tightly as I watch out the window, the small metal sunflower digging into my palm.
"Anthea!" The doctor yells, coming running into the TARDIS, I jump and look up from my book "Doctor? What's wrong?" I ask worriedly, dropping my book and standing quickly, he smiles widely "nothings wrong, nothing at all, infact, it's the opposite of wrong" he says, pulling out a small box from his pocket, I raise my eyebrow a bit in confusion, still slightly nervous, he holds the box up and takes my hand, putting the box into it before he steps back, a boyish wide grin on his face, I smile softly "should I trust this box?" I tease softly, he chuckles "go on, open it! Ive waited long enough to see your reaction" he says happily, his long hair a mess and his bow tie askew, I giggle softly and shake my head "you silly man" I tease softly before carefully opening the box, my heart leaps as I see the small silver chain with a sunflower pendent.
I smile wider and carefully close the box before Ileap at the Doctor, tackling him in a hug, he laughs and catches me in his arms "I told you I had to go grab something important didnt I?" He asks, I nod "you did but usually important also means dangerous" I laugh softly and pull back, he gently takes the box and wraps the necklace around my neck, I move my hair out of the way as he clasps it before I turn back to him "thank you Doctor, its so beautiful, ill make sure to never lose it, or break it" I giggle softly.
He chuckle softly "if it breaks during one of our adventures then tell me and I can fix it easily" I nod softly "will do...but I'm going to everything I can to keep it safe, its to precious a gift to break" I say happily, he smiles and I hug him again, he holds me tightly and murmurs "My flower girl"
I get rattled out of my memories as the carriage stops, I get out with the others but my eyes widen as I see fire filling the canal, I look up more only to see the doctor standing there on the railing "Doctor! What are you doing, your going to fall!" I say worriedly, running up behind him, he starts rambling again about us being wrong until I realize what he's saying, I look up to him as he points across the bridge at a man walking away from the spectacle "if all the pudding brains are gawking, then what is he?" He asks, I see the man and not a second later the doctor jumps.
"Doctor!" I scream, wanting to jump after him but Vastra grabs me "dont! He will be fine" she says seriously, I look between her and the water worriedly before nodding "I'm going to find out what that man was doing" I say seriously before taking off running after the man the doctor had pointed at, they try to stop me but I'm gone before they can, turning a corner after the man.
I flinch as a loud sound wakes me, I look up and my eyes widen to see a man standing over me, we are in a small alley, I sit up and wince, pain shooting up my arms from seemingly hitting the ground elbow first, I look back up to the man and gasp, my heart racing as the man looks down to me, only, he was missing half of his face, as if it had been torn away, leaving a metal skeleton underneath, almost cage like with cogs and joints whirring inside, I scoot back quickly, he looks startled and he had a knife in his hand, I scream and scramble to my feet "dont you dare touch me with that!" I yell, grabbing a garbage bin next to me and throwing it at him, he easily just blocks it and starts coming towards me, I make a run for it but I'm stopped as another person is standing stalk still on the other end of the alley, I try to get past them but the man grabs me and holds me as the half-faced man comes up, he orders the man holding me to take me somewhere, I kept trying to struggle but I'm soon knocked unconscious, being taken away by the robots to who knows where.
