She had always been crafty; it was, after all, always a viable hobby for her to take worthless scraps to try and turn them into less worthless crafts.
When he called her that night, he was unsurprised to see she had tied a long red string around her neck like a choker, a thin bow closing it in front.
"New necklace?" He smiled, relaxing against the headboard as he watched her scurry about her hotel room.
She paused and fixed him with a dazzling smile. "I found the old ties from your battle outfit in my sewing kit when i was fixing my skirt, so I undid one of the ropes and made this!" She gestured to her neck, "Kinda like a friendship bracelet, no?"
He chuckled, "Very cute. I think I still have the rest of that rope in with my belts, actually."
Her eyes lit up and she scrambled onto the bed in front of her laptop, her face up close to the camera. "You should tie some around your wrist, and then it'll be like actual friendship bracelets! The whole world will know we're besties!"
He smirked. "Are the wedding bands not clear enough?"
She rolled her eyes, and he watched her scoop up the laptop to burrow under her bedding. "Well, duh, but I think we always have room for more ways to tell the world we love each other."
He shook his head, watching her fondly. "I'm content with just you knowing I love you, the whole world can mind their own business."
She wilted slightly. "I like that the world knows." She gave him puppy eyes. "I think that it makes being in love even cuter when everyone else knows."
His features softened and he forced a sigh. "Fine." He rolled out of bed.
She grinned, clapping excitedly, "Friendship bracelet buddies!!"
"We're married-" he called from the closet, rifling through belts and pants and memories until he found the small pile of red rope he used to trim his outfits with. "We don't need friendship bracelets!" He laughed a little.
She huffed loudly, likely also giving an exaggerated roll of her eyes as well, "We're still best friends, and we were before we got married, so really we should have already had friendship bracelets!"
He finally managed to unravel a few pieces of string from the rope, breaking it off with his bare hands (something he regretted slightly when he realized he could more easily have cut it with Stormflower, which was only a few feet away) and haphazardly tied a small portion around his wrist.
He breezed back into the room, falling back into the bed and displaying his new "bracelet" to the webcam.
She squealed in delight. "We have buddy bracelets!!"
He rolled his head to smile at her, "Yeah, yeah…"
She beamed at him, "We're connected now."
"We already had wedding rings-"
She groaned loudly, "Stop being a buuuuzzzkiiiiiillll~!" She chided him, adding in a high pitched, poor, imitation, "Myeh myeh myeh, we have WEDDING RINGS and that's enough for me cuz I'm boring~"
"I will take off this bracelet and hang up on you right now. Don't test me." He threatened, unable to hide his smile.
She puffed her cheeks, looking askance. "You're just boring-"
He hung up on her, waiting a few seconds before calling her back just in time to see the most scandalized look she could probably muster.
"How dare-"
"I told you I'd hang up."
"The friendship bracelets are supposed to mean that you're stuck with me, so." She stuck her tongue out and blew a raspberry.
"You're impossible."
"I know."
