First Highschool DxD story, hope I do it justice.
Talking
Thinking
On a beautiful summer day, a boy was climbing the steps of a shrine that was in his town. This boy was the 9-year-old Issei Hyoudou. He was about average height for his age but even though he was 9 he looked fit and in shape. His hair was majority black in color that was a bit wild, the only part of his hair that wasn't black was a patch of his bangs that was blonde. His eyes were brown that matched his mother.
He was climbing these steps for two reasons. The first and primary reason was to get training from his godfather and sensei. Baraqiel was his teacher and godfather. He was training Issei in his magic, hand-to-hand combat, and weapons combat.
This was because 3 years ago when Issei was 6 he had released his fallen angel wings for the first time. It was on that day that his mother and revealed the supernatural world existed and he was a half-breed fallen angel. Issei learned that his dad was a true fallen angel. He had asked his mother for this father's identity since he could look him up in the bible, but his mother would never reveal it. When he asked Baraqiel he would just tell Issei that his mother swore him to secrecy. Issei soon learned not to ask and hoped they would tell him in the future.
His training though had been going well. Baraqiel had told him he is exceptional in both hand-to-hand combat and using light weapons and attacks. They had soon discovered though that Issei had an affinity to lightning magic like Baraqiel. Issei loved this elemental magic he could control and trained in it then his light magic.
The second reason he was heading up these steps was to see his best friend Akeno, Baraqiel's daughter. He had one friend before her that friend was named Rin, but they move away right before Issei gained his wings. So, his best and only friend was Akeno. They had fun together be it in training or when they were just goofing off. Issei loved playing with her.
It was at this point that he had gotten to the top of the stairs. He swept his eyes across the shrine that was in prime condition. Shuri, Akeno's mother, was the shrine maiden there and made sure the shrine was always in prime condition.
Issei soon found all three sitting on the steps of their house on the shrine enjoying the nice weather.
Issei called out to them, "Hey, Akeno, Sensei, Aunt Shuri!"
All three turned their attention to the boy walking towards them with a hand raised in a wave. Akeno who had jet black hair and violet eyes smiled brightly as she got up to run to him. Shuri smiled softly as she looked fondly at her godson, she looked like an older Akeno with the only difference being she had light brown eyes. Baraqiel who also had black hair and a full beard who kept his eyes closed kept a stoic face even though he was inwardly happy at seeing his student and godson.
Akeno matched her mother is wearing a shrine priestess outfit as she ran to her best friend. She then glomped him at a full sprint. If it hadn't been for Baraqiel's training Issei would have landed on his back, but he was able to keep standing while holding on to the girl.
What he couldn't see though was the blush on Akeno's cheeks from being held by her best friend and secret crush.
"I've missed you Ise-kun," Akeno said softly to him.
"Akeno it's only been a couple of days you couldn't have missed me that much," Issei said with a small chuckle.
"But I did!" Akeno exclaimed to him as she broke out of his arms with a cute pout on her face which Issei found adorable. "You usually come every day and if not then every other day. But it's been 3 days since you came. I thought you didn't want to see me anymore." Akeno's explanation got quieter the longer she spoke.
Hearing her insecurity broke Issei's heart and he pulled her into a tight hug. "I will never not want to see you." He quietly told her.
That is when they heard giggling. Akeno broke out of his arms to whip around to look at her parents. Her mother had her mouth hidden behind a hand trying to hide her giggles but couldn't.
"M-Mom!" Akeno yelled out embarrassed by her mother's actions.
"Ara ara, Akeno I didn't know you had such strong feelings for our dear Issei," Shuri said with an impish grin and small sadistic gleam in her eye.
Akeno started sputtering excuses in embarrassment as she scooted away from Issei and tried to get rid of the pink on her cheeks. Her mother just kept on giggling at the situation while Baraqiel had an unreadable look on his face.
'Well,' he thought with a sigh 'She could have picked someone way worse.'
He sighed out loud this time as he got to his feet. "Issei you're here to train correctly?" He asked the boy already guessing the answer.
"Yes Sensei," Issei responded with a nodding head.
"Good, we'll have a spar then," Baraqiel announced. "Let's see how far you have progressed these past few months."
Issei became quite excited at this announcement. He as well wanted to see how much he had improved.
Baraqiel then turned to both his wife and daughter, "You two stay here I want to see Issei go all out and he can't do that with you two nearby" the fallen angel general explained.
This got a nod from Shuri, but Akeno wasn't having it. "But I want to see Ise-kun fight you Daddy!" she whined.
"No like I said he needs to focus on the fight. And he can't do that with you nearby." He explained to his daughter.
Before she could fight him on it more. She felt a hand on her shoulder. She glanced back at the smiling face of Issei. "Don't worry Akeno, I will finish it up quickly so we can play together."
Akeno gained a small amount of pink to her cheeks as she looked at his confident smiling face. She just nodded meekly and walked over to her grinning mother.
Baraqiel and Issei both moved to an open area in the woods near the shrine. They both took stances 10 meters from each other.
"Remember Issei, come at me with the intent to kill otherwise you will have no chance at victory." Baraqiel gave some last-minute advice to his student.
Issei gave one quick nod before his wings appeared and he launched himself towards the fallen angel general. He brought a fist up and launched a full-powered punch at the general's face. Baraqiel blocked the punch, which drove Issei to launch a kick into the man's gut. Baraqiel lifted a leg and blocked the kick with his knee. With both attacks blocked Issei flung himself back with his wings. So, he was few meters away from his teacher.
"Frontal attacks are fine when you know you can hit your opponent. Use some variety in your attacks." Baraqiel lectured.
Issei floated for a moment letting what Baraqiel said sink in. Baraqiel saw his students light up and knew the boy had an idea. That is when Issei rushed forward again making Baraqiel sigh as they started clashing fist and feet were thrown by Issei who was trying to get a hit in. Baraqiel just kept blocking and countering every time Issei's attack left him open.
Then when Baraqiel leaned back to dodge a punch by Issei a bright light appeared in Issei's closed fist and a blade of light appeared giving the boy extra reach. Baraqiel's eyes widened at this and quickly kicked Issei away. Because of his surprise, he kicked the boy a little harder than he wanted to this launched the boy back a few good meters.
Issei coughed as he got back up to his feet. He had a grin though. "Almost got you with that one."
Baraqiel laughed at that, "Yes you did. Good job, misdirection is very helpful in battle. Remember there are no fair fights." He informed the boy who just nodded. "Now let's see some of your lightning."
Issei gained a smile at that request. He lifted his right hand and it crackled with yellow electricity. Baraqiel nodded at the sight.
"That is a good output. You seem to have a good grasp of the basic form of lightning which anyone can use. Now show me something only I have been able to ever perform." Baraqiel requested his student.
Issei's smile disappeared and a look of determination appeared. The lightning in his hand slowly began to change the yellow becoming blue and it became stronger and more chaotic. Issei was making sure that he stayed in control of the new lightning in his hand. After a few moments he had it under his control when he looked back at his teacher, he saw something that surprised him. The normally stoic man that was Baraqiel had a small smile on his face and his eyes had softened.
"Excellent, you now have my permission to practice holy lightning whenever you desire," Baraqiel told the boy.
Issei's eyes lit up at those words. "Really?" he questioned the man.
"Of course. You may not have the control that you have over standard lightning, you are the only being other than me currently who can use attach the light attribute to lightning making holy lightning. The only way to get better is to practice, and I trust you to control the element enough to practice in your own time as well." Baraqiel assured his student.
Issei beamed at him. That is when a thought struck him. "I have most of the spells you gave me know pat, like Lightning Bolt, and Lightning Strike. Can I show you a couple I came up with?" Issei anxiously asked his teacher.
Baraqiel raised his eyebrows in surprise. "You came up with your own spells?"
Issei nodded relentlessly at that, "Yeah, I can only control them with standard lightning right now but since I can train with holy lightning on my own now then I can use it on those techniques as well." he rambled.
"Alright let's see what you got," Baraqiel said as he got into a loose but ready stance.
"Great here it comes!" Issei shouted out. He then put himself into a semi-wide stance as he brought his right hand up and gripped his wrist with his left hand. He had his right handset like he was making a claw. Baraqiel looked on with interest on what his student had come up with. That is when a small amount of lightning appeared in Issei's right hand, it soon turned it into a sphere of lightning it expanded in his hand until it filled his palm the size of a baseball. There was lightning violently striking out around the sphere with such intensity that you couldn't properly see it. The buzzing had turned into the sound of chirping birds.
Baraqiel was quite shocked at no pun intended at what his student had come up with.
"What an interesting technique. What do you call it?" The fallen angel general asked his student.
"I call this one Chidori because of how it sounds," Issei informed his teacher.
"Ok, how do you use this spell?"
Issei grinned at Baraqiel. "Watch this," is all he said as he launched forward a large stone near their sparing ground. When Issei got within striking difference he brought the arm with the Chidori forwards like he was throwing a punch.
"CHIDORI!" Issei yelled out when he struck the rock. The small boulder shattered when struck by the attack. Issei released the spell as he panted a little bit from the magical power he used in the attack.
Baraqiel was quite impressed by the display his pupil just showed. "I see, it is a short-range attack to be used in melee combat. Now, what was your reason for making this spell?"
Issei turned back to look at him, "Every spell you have shown me has been mid to long-range to be most effective. I wanted to make a spell I could use at close range and directly strike my opponent."
"Alright, so how did you create this spell?" Baraqiel inquired.
"I thought about the lightning bolt spell you taught me which you take an unstable ball of electricity and launch it at an opponent as a true lightning bolt. I thought if I could stabilize the ball and control it into a condense sphere, I could make quite the piercing tool."
Baraqiel gave his student a smile at his explanation. His student had gone above and beyond what he needed to do to learn. He mastered what he was taught and improved upon it. He couldn't be prouder.
"You have done quite well today Issei. But you have 1 more spell to show me correctly?"
Issei's eyes flashed with realization, "Oh that's right I almost forgot. I am going to need you for this demonstration though." Baraqiel nodded and got into a sparring stance.
Issei then took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself. He clenched his fists and yelled out as an electrical aura surround him. It covered his body and was off his body by about 3 inches on each part. It looked like Issei was surround by an aura made of pure lightning.
Baraqiel was surprised by the first spell but this one blew that one completely out of the water. "What is this spell Issei?"
"I call this spell Lightning Armor. The lightning around me loses most of its electrical output to augment myself physically. I thought of this spell because of how much faster and stronger you are than me. When I realized others will be too, so I made this spell to help shrink the gap." Issei explained.
"Good thought process. Now let's see how much faster and stronger you are now." Baraqiel said.
With those words, Issei snapped out of existence. Baraqiel's eyes widened before his highly trained instincts told him to block. He threw up and arm just quick enough to block a high kick by Issei who looked like he was floating without his wings. The force behind the attack caught the general off guard as his arm moved a bit more than it ever had before by blocking Issei's attacks.
Issei flashed away again and this time Baraqiel was a bit faster at blocking by being prepared for the speed of the attack. Issei appeared on his other side this time for a low strike which Baraqiel blocked with his leg. Issei snapped away again and so began a fight that was Issei jumping around the battlefield trying to land hits on his opponent.
After five minutes Issei ran out of juice and collapsed to his knees trying to take in some deep breaths. Baraqiel walked up to him threw Issei over his shoulder.
"I have to say I am quite impressed Issei."
"Really?" Issei questioned with a hint of hope in his voice.
"Yes, I am, you have improved on every aspect you have been trained in. You also created your own spells by improving one and trying to fix a weakness you thought you had. I have to say they are good spells. Keep working on them to perfect them."
Issei was beaming from the shoulder he was thrown over but at this point, he couldn't care less. His sensei approved of his spells.
"Let's head back to get you patched up and you can spend the rest of the day playing with Akeno," Baraqiel promised Issei.
"Thank you, Sensei." Issei tiredly replied.
Two months later Issei was playing with Akeno while his mom and Aunt Shuri were chatting. Baraqiel was currently on a mission for the Grigori.
Suddenly Issei felt as something was off. He stopped himself and Akeno as well. He started taking in his surroundings. He didn't know what was going to happen, but he knew it was bad.
"Akeno," he whispered, "Go back to Mom and Aunt Shuri. Somethings wrong, I will see what it is, but you need to be with them." Issei said to her.
She looked at him nervously, "If something's wrong then I should stay with you in case you need help." She replied.
"No that's too dangerous. I will be in the thick of things I need you to be safe."
"Ise-kun…" before she could fully reply Issei wrapped her in a tight hug. She blushed at his sudden show of affection.
"Please Akeno I couldn't focus if I have to worry about you." He slightly begged her as he held her in his arms.
When he pulled back, he looked her in his eyes pleading. She finally nodded and ran away back to where their parents were. Issei watched after her until she turned out of sight. He sighed and started moving his body to prepare for what was about to come.
He started walking out in the open near the front of the shrine. He only waited for few moments before a group of 10 people appeared all in white robes like they were shrine leaders.
"Who are you people and why are you here." Issei quickly questioned them.
"What's with the kid, no one said anything about another kid being here." One of them questioned as he looked to the one in front of the group who seemed to be the leader.
"Are you blind this isn't some normal kid. Can't you feel the power coming off him?" The supposed leader said while studying Issei who stood in a relaxed fighting stance ready for anything.
"I asked who you were and why are you here," Issei said with a bit more force.
"Who we are doesn't matter to you child. We are here for the traitor and their spawn." The leader spoke to Issei with nothing but arrogant condescending to the boy.
Issei's eyes narrowed at that. He was aware of Shuri was on the outs of her family for falling in love with Baraqiel. Looks like the Himejima clan wanted to finally do something more permanent about it.
"Well if you want to get to them you have to go through me," Issei announced as his loose stance turned into a full sparring stance his eyes scanning the group making sure that non were out of his sight.
"Listen kid why don't you leave and forget this ever happened." One of the men next to the leader spoke hoping to diffuse the situation.
Issei smirked a little at that, "Not going to happen." With his piece said Issei released his wings and shot forward he aimed for one who was unprepared. Has he created a spear of light a memory of somethings Baraqiel said to him flashed through his mind?
'Remember Issei, in battle never hold back because your enemies won't.'
'Issei when I'm not around make sure to protect Shuri, Akeno, and your mother.'
With those thoughts in his mind, Issei solidified his resolve and hardened his heart. He was upon his target within the second and separated the head from his body. He then turned and launched the spear full force at the closest to the dead man. It went through his chest and the second victim fell just after the first.
The rest of the group were in shock at what they saw a child take out 2 of their group within 5 seconds and looked back at them with hardened eyes. The leader of the group was the first to break out of his shock of the situation.
"You four kill him the rest of us will deal with the traitor and the spawn." He shouted out his orders as the four closest to Issei nodded and put their attention on him the other three grouped with the leader and headed toward the house.
Issei growled out at this and decided he needed to hurry. He clenched his fists and yelled out covering himself in his Lightning Armor. From his training with Baraqiel, he knew this increased his speed and strength by 10 times. He flashed out of existence stopping the group in their tracks. He reappeared to the one closest to himself and sent a punch to the man's face causing his head to explode. Before the body could begin to fall Issei flashed away again. Within 15 seconds he had blown up another head, exploded one of the men's chest, and split a man in half.
He then dropped the armor because of the stamina toll it has on himself. He launched to get to the house in time. He flew across the shrine as fast as his wings would carry him. By the time the group was in sight. Issei saw something that finally made him freeze. All four of the remaining group made a combination fire spell and launched a huge fireball the size of the house at the house. Issei could only watch as the house was obliterated.
"MOM! AKENO! AUNTY!" Issei howled out as he watched as almost everyone, he cared for burned in the blaze. He collapsed to his knees staring at the fire the consumed his loved ones. He felt his heart shatter as he filled with despair.
His shout had alerted a group of men as they looked back at him with nothing but contempt. The leader steps forward again, "Don't weep for them hybrid spawn they deserved to die. The traitor, the other spawn, and your mother for breeding with a Fallen Angel as well. Now It is time for you to die as well."
Issei looked at the leader and his group and the despair he felt soon became a burning hatred. He wanted them gone, he wanted them dead, no he wanted them obliterated with nothing left. He wanted them to suffer. Issei felt an intense pressure on his back and a burning sensation in his veins. It felt like there was a fire in his veins and the pressure in his back just kept getting worse and worse. It was all too much as his mind tried to comprehend the situation.
All he could do was watch as the leader walk towards him a flame on the man's hand flickered malevolently. The flame increase in size as the man got closer. He gained a sneer as he looked down upon Issei he raised his hand in preparation for the attack when he only got a foot away.
Finally, Issei released the pressure. He raised his head and roared out.
"ROARRRRRRR!" He bellowed out and it sounded like a combination of human and dragon as a light appeared on his back a new pair of wings upon his back with their own announcement.
DIVIDE!
These wings looked to be made of blue energy with white armor on top of the wings. Issei felt a release from the pressure as he looked up at the man who now stared at Issei in shock, arm still raised to strike.
[…Use your new power…]
Issei heard a whisper in his mind as he instinctually brought his arm up and aimed it at his target the second his hand made contact the gear reacted.
Divide!
The new wings bellowed out as the man in front of Issei flame went out as he stumbled back and Issei felt a rush of power. With the new increase in strength, Issei was brought back to the here and now as he truly looked at the men in front of him and the group behind him. Issei saw the burning building and the rage before came back. He got to his feet and launched himself forward. He felt these new wings initiate flight as he shot forward even faster than with his angel wings. He landed a punch to the leader's gut and with the force of the punch and Issei's charge the man has launched 50 meters away and rolled to a stop and didn't move.
Issei then looked at the group before him as he shot forward again. He appeared before one of the men and gripped his shoulder.
Divide!
He took the power of that one as well as he made a light sword and took off the man's head. He looked at the other two and dispersed the light sword as he accumulated lightning in his hands. He connected the two with a stream of lightning between his hands as he put more power into it. He brought his hands above his head as he kept charging. Flattening his hands into spear hand strike form. "Lightning Strike!" he yelled out as he brought his hands down lightning bolt large enough to engulf the two standing in the group struck them both.
They both screamed out in pain but Issei had put too much behind it for them to survive and when the dust settled both were charred to a crisp and clearly dead.
Issei then heard coughing as he turned his sights on the leader who was getting to his knees. Issei growled out as he launched himself towards the man. He appeared before the man and grabbed him around the throat and lifted him.
Divide!
The wings called out as the man's power was halved again. Issei feeling the rush lifted his remaining hand and called upon his holy lightning. His palm crackled with electricity as the sphere grew to the size of a baseball the blue lightning around his jutted out chaotically as the sphere chirped with the strength of a thousand birds.
"This is for my mother, Akeno, and Aunt Shuri. May you burn in Hell for all eternity." Issei growled out.
Divide!
The dragon wings on his back called out again. The rush of more power and the anger that Issei felt made him not focus on another pair of fallen angel wings appear on his back below where his first pair normally appeared.
Issei then shot this right hand forward, "CHIDORI!" he yelled out as his hand pierced the man's chest and shot straight through with little resistance as he obliterated the heart and his hand appeared out through the man's back.
Issei stared at the face of the now-dead man. He felt nothing from what he had done today. He had felt a little guilty when he killed the first 6 but he had pushed him aside to protect his loved ones. When he saw them die in a sea of flames his heart shattered and he slowly became numb. He even enjoyed killing the last 4 in getting justice for his precious people.
He dropped the now corpse and looked around the shrine. The only damage was where the fighting happened in the open areas and the house. He dropped back to the ground, he kept all six wings out as he stood there taking in the death and destruction.
That is when a teleportation circle appeared a few meters from Issei. Issei turned his head the figure came fully through and there stood Baraqiel who looked to be in a slight panic. The panic grew as he scanned the area until his eyes landed upon Issei. The panic suddenly disappeared as the fallen angel general became stock still.
"Issei…" is all he said as he started to walk towards the boy. He noticed the changes in Issei instantly the boy not only had gotten his second pair of fallen angel wings, but he was also currently wielding one of the 13 Longinus Divine Dividing. Issei was this generation's White Dragon Emperor. Baraqiel was shocked by all this information.
"Issei, what happened here?" He asked the boy as he could tell Issei was trying to keep himself together.
Issei fully turned to his sensei. "The ten men here are from the Himejima clan," he revealed to Baraqiel's added shock. "They came to kill Akeno and Aunty Shuri. I tried to hold them off but by the time I had killed six of them, the other four made a combination fireball that destroyed the house they all were in. They killed them." Issei was emotionless for most of his explanation until the end where he growled.
Baraqiel stern broke from the sorrow he felt from learning all three were killed. His knees felt weak as he wanted to fall to the ground and howl in anguish from learning of the deaths of his loving wife and precious daughter. He felt like he was a failure of the highest order. He didn't just fail his family he failed Issei as well, his mother had also been killed. The boy had to defend everything by himself and still couldn't save them and had to face the same pain as him. Issei wasn't even 10 years old yet and had to kill that many people as well as watching almost everyone he cared for die.
Baraqiel didn't fall to his knees and cry though, he had been strong in the memory of his dead family and for the sake of Issei who looked dead on his feet. It was his fault that this all happened. It was time Issei went to the Grigori and met his father. Issei being the White Dragon Emperor complicated things a little bit but he needed to be protected.
"Issei we are leaving come to me so we can go to the Grigori," Baraqiel told the boy trying his best to keep his voice even.
Issei just looked at him for a moment. His eyes blank but Baraqiel could tell Issei was burying his pain. "Why you have never taken both Akeno and me before so why know," Issei asked as he looked upon his teacher as a flash of distrust appeared in Issei's eyes for a second.
Baraqiel saw the flash but decided to not comment on it. "Things are different now Issei. You wield one of the 13 Longinus Divine Dividing. You are this generation's White Dragon Emperor. You being a half-breed fallen angel may make you one of the strongest that has ever lived. I need to take you there to protect you. Also, I don't care what your mother swore me to I will introduce you to your father." Baraqiel told the boy.
Issei listened to the reasoning and his eye's widened at the last piece. "You're going to introduce me to my father?" He asked his teacher.
Baraqiel nodded, "Yes, it is high time you finally meet him."
Issei was quiet for a moment before he looked his teacher in the eyes with nothing but determination on his face. "Who is my father?"
Baraqiel stiffened slightly at the question but he knew it was coming. The boy had stopped asking years ago, but now since he brought up they were going to meet he wanted to know before they met.
"Your father is Azazel the Governor-General of the Grigori," Baraqiel revealed with a sigh.
Issei's eyes became the size of dinner plates upon hearing the words of his teacher. He was the son of Azazel the Scape Goat. The leader of the Fallen Angel faction. He was technically royalty. Why was this kept from him? So, his dad was the leader of a faction why wouldn't they want him to-. Issei stiffened when he realized why they didn't tell him. His dad was a man whore who had countless women and harems since he fell from heaven.
Issei's eyes then narrowed and furrowed his brow. He felt anger well up in his stomach as it rose to his chest and exploded out. The anger soon became a pure unadulterated rage. He grit his teeth as he started to leak power. Baraqiel widened his eyes at what he was seeing.
"I see how it is," Issei spat out. "My mother meant nothing to him and was just a plaything for him until he got bored." Issei's power output kept rising as he talked. "He saw her as a piece of meat to do what he wished to it."
Issei's power spiked even more and it started to crackle with electricity. It flashed yellow and blue for both normal lightning and holy lightning appeared in his aura. He glared at his teacher. "Both you and Mom knew this so that is why she told you not to tell him about me, and you both decided not to tell me. So, wouldn't think negatively of him. He abandoned my mother and doesn't know I exist. He probably doesn't even want me."
Baraqiel never moved the entire time Issei unleashed his aura or during his monologue. He needed to calm the boy down. "That isn't true Issei, he cared for your mother he didn't want her to be brought into our world though that is why he left her. He would also be overjoyed to know about you. There is a child he is taking care of know that he cares for so he will care for you as well."
Issei stared at his teacher. "He is caring for another child?"
"Yes, he is a half-devil and half-human who was in trouble and was saved by Azazel. Even though he only originally did it because of the boosted gear-," he was cut off by Issei whose aura flared.
"He would only care for me because of my gear!" Issei yelled. "He would only want me because I have such a powerful gear! He even has the rival gear. No, I don't want to see him. I am not going to the Grigori." Issei then rose into the air he looked at his shocked teacher. "I am not going anywhere near him or associate with those close to him. That includes you Sensei." Issei informed his teacher as he rose higher into the air. "And you will not tell him about me. Make this in honor of my mother, you will not tell him about me. You can tell him she is dead but never mention me." Issei ordered his teacher as he launched himself away at speed Baraqiel would be hard press to match since Issei was using both pair of fallen wings plus the divine dividing's light wings.
Baraqiel watched his student leave with sorrow on his face. He had lost everyone today his wife, daughter, friend, and student. He then looked around the shrine as he decided to clean up the damages. He just hoped all who he cared for would forgive him.
Issei didn't know how long he had flown for, but he had reached his limit. He was running on empty as he started to fall out of the sky. He tried to use what little power he had left to slow his descent. He hit the ground with a thud as he rolled for a few meters and just laid there not moving. His wings had disappeared, but he wasn't tired enough to pass out just yet. His mind was trying to comprehend the day he had just had. He had killed for the first time, he had watched those he cared for die, he had got a Longinus scared gear, he had learned who his father was. He had been a rollercoaster of a day emotionally.
His lack of energy started to catch up to him as he started to feel the pull of unconsciousness.
[…Rest partner, then we can properly meet…]
Issei heard the whisper again. He decided to listen to it again as it hadn't led him astray yet.
As Issei fell asleep a figure appeared in the clearing. They walked over to the boy and studied the now unconscious boy. The figure could feel the aura the boy gave off and knew the child was unique. The slow bent down and lifted the child into their arms as they carefully left the area as to not wake the boy.
AN:
Been wanting to write a Highschool DxD story for a while. Got a good idea and ran with it.
