Little Jane

Shopping for baby essentials isn't something new for both of them, especially for Jane. Having Charlotte prior to this little one, he used to stand up for hours so his legs turned out tiredly jiggling like a jelly, only to accompany his lovely wife at the moment, Angela. Not that she's picky, in fact, she's the easiest when it comes to shopping, but there was a lot of stuff to buy, so he had to deal with carrying the whole basket of Charlotte's needs for 4 hours and he managed to find a grocery store to buy two large bottles of water afterwards. Learning after that moment, he always brings at least a water bottle and a tea package to prepare for the worst.

From the other side, this is surely a new world for Lisbon. She ran to a few baby stores only to buy gifts for her nephew and nieces. Never thought she'll get some baby essentials for the little one tucked safely inside her with that hormonal state of hers. She was being emotional with things, especially when it comes to any babies-related stuff. Sure, for her, to think the tough and badass Agent Teresa Lisbon cries when seeing a baby stroller is ridiculous, but the doctor ensure the woman doesn't need any psych ward to cure her craziness. The stupid hormones are normal, it just drives her crazy.

To her gratitude, Jane had been the most caring and patient husband she ever had, the sense inside him works well every time he was with her, especially during this state of hers. More than a decade of relationship, knowing each other well, plus, they're now a married couple and a lifetime partner, the emotional bond is just too strong for anyone to break it, just like what happened today.

Both of them had a short stop on babies and kids shop nearby after having a doctor appointment, planning on filling half of their unborn baby's empty closet they had prepared for the nursery, perhaps a couple of cute little onesies.

"You know, Patrick, this crazy little kid of yours has been kicking on my bladder and I've gone nuts. I deserve a payback for thousand times trip to the bathroom," Lisbon shut the car's door, waddling to their destination while Jane following behind. The door's bell rang the entire building, "...and you're- oh my God. I can't-"

"Welcome, may I help you?" A shopkeeper approached them.

"Ah, we just need a moment to get around the store," Jane grinned to the shopkeeper while embracing his crying wife. "Let's take a look, Teresa?"

"You know well I'm a sucker for this and yet you're still taking me?" Sobs Lisbon.

Jane crouched to her height, "Okay, I'm with you, you can cry while we're roaming around, find whatever suits our peanut, and we'll get you out from this chaos, I promise. We've talked about this, remember?"

"Fine." Lisbon wiped the salty tears on her face, "but you still owe me something or else I'll strangle your neck."

Jane nodded before letting his wife walk first, "Lead the way, love."

The couple, who promised only a little tour for themselves, ended up walking around whole sections plus Jane already holding two baskets, one full of cute onesies, the other filled with other essentials. He had no energy to argue with his pregnant woman's raging hormones, because once the man had a 5 minutes small fight with her over a simple thing, she bursts out crying for the straight 4 hours. From that moment, he would've raise his patience when it comes to facing pregnant Teresa Lisbon-Jane.

"Aww, see this honey, don't you think this one is cute? Match with their daddy's? This is gorgeous, I'd like to buy it." Lisbon found a cute mini navy-colored three-pieces-suit, similar to Jane's casual wear, meanwhile her husband cringed beside her.

"What if we had a girl, not a boy? Otherwise, you said that you'd never allow another me in the household." Jane raised his eyebrows in confusion.

"Well, we can gift this to someone else if we didn't have any boys, but, my guts told me that I'm carrying a little boy inside here and I strongly believe this cute outfit will match the baby, and second, people changed. Plus, wearing this outfit doesn't mean the baby's gonna have the same traits as you, not all," Lisbon smirked at her husband, "I won."

"No, not yet," Jane pulled a white princess dress with a plastic tiara from the display beside the baby suits' section, "this, my love, will be an outfit for my girl, another angry little princess, maybe princesses, but nobody's gonna steal her tiara. You, boys. Me, girls. We're equals, remember?"

Lisbon giggled, "are you pulling a battle with me?"

"Not a battle, make it two because we promised to stay away from the gender reveal until the birth. We haven't known it, so why choose one when we can pay for two? Both are discounted anyway," Jane pulled a small kiss on her, "Love to have the shopping time with you."

"You're such an ass, but I love you." Lisbon pulled a little smirk on her face.

"Ooh, language, mommy."

After roaming around a bit longer (30 minutes, to be exact), the couple paid all the stuff before finally went out from the store.

"How is it? You got everything you want?" Jane asked his wife.

"Well, honey, look, there's a store near the intersection, we shall take a look there." Lisbon pulled her husband by his arms.

"Oh no, not again." Jane mumbled.
