Hinata was singing in the shower, and rinsed the conditioner out quickly toweling his hair as dry as he could he glanced at his phone. There was a text from his best friend.
Kageyama: ill be arriving at practice at 7, family is over.
Hinata: Okie dokey!
So, with a bright grin, Hinata accepts the breakfast bento that his mother had made and dashed out the door. Just because Kageyama wasn't going to set for him, doesn't mean he wouldn't practice.
Hopping on his bike Hinata watches as the dark skies begin to bloom with colour and races downhill towards his high school. Dreams of being the ace, despite being the decoy still rang through his head. His team didn't need another ace at the moment, strength in running and jumping were needed as decoy. Despite
His raw talent, it wasn't going to be enough to stay on the court. He needed to be stronger, and with that in mind Hinata reaches the school. He had been so lost in thought his body had auto piloted him to school. Locking his bike up Hinata races to the club room, taking off his outer layer and grabbing his iPod he heads to the gym. Key in hand, and like always he keeps the door open a tiny bit for more air flow.
Blasting the music Hinata smiles, it was his favourite one, it was an American rapper, and despite being at Karasuno for three months, he hadn't ever told anyone he used to sing and play piano professionally, before he had moved here, and had done YouTube covers with his best friend Kenma.
Eminem's voice rapped out one of many greatest hits; Killshot. On a whim, because of the rap he grabbed a basketball. The weight, feel, and colour where totally different from the light volleyballs he was used too. He even remembered the last time he had held this ball. 2 years ago, when he had been in love with another sport.
Basketball had ruled his life, he spent days learning to dribble, toss, and use his lack of height to his advantage. Teiko had been an amazing sports school. His father had told him that it would be great to get into school with sports. His father was away a lot do to work, and Hinata missed him quite a bit.
*Flash-back*
So, when he had been with the track team running in the city, he had found out that he loved another sport even more.
That teen he had watched fly high and win against tall opponents made his eyes wide and his heart flutter. Yes, he enjoyed playing basketball, but his team was broken, they only ALWAYS wanted to win. The once companionship he had. Had with his team dissipated and no it was broken. His passion was slowly falling away. He skipped out on first string practices to focus on track and field, his music lessons and finally he snuck into gym three where the Volleyball team was playing a practice game against each other.
"Hey," the tall teen with a number 1 had said. "Here to try out for the team?"
"Yes, I'm Hinata Shoyo!"
There was a lot of muttering when he said his name and he cowed away a little. That was all anyone would see him as, a part of the Generation of Miracles. A person to be underestimated due to his height. He was used to it, but it still hurt.
"Ushijima!" the other player with bright red hair grinned and waved his arms. "Its time to play, let the Chibi play if he wants!"
"Tendou-san, I was going to let him," the strong stoic teen with a deep voice said. "Here put this on, you can be on my team," the Captain said.
For the rest of what was left of his time at Teiko due to his moving he played volleyball, learning to spike like the tiny giant, he learned what it felt like to have a team, and even if it was for three months Hinata felt happier every time he spiked a ball.
When it was finally time to move, he was sad to go, he had only been at Teiko for one year, but it was worth it. Plus, he had so many strong friends because of it.

Team's POV
When the team all arrived at the gym's door, they expected excited whoops as Hinata and Kageyama practiced their quick toss. What they didn't expect was for Kageyama to jump out of a black car and scowl at whoever had driven him.
They also didn't expect the bounce of a ball different then a volleyball, and the singing. His voice sounded angry as he belted out word's half in Japanese and the other half in English.
"I thought he was failing English?" Yamaguchi asked.
Tanaka shrugged and they opened the sliding doors a bit more so they could see what was going on.
Hinata was weaving between invisible opponents, bouncing a basketball and from the halfway point he jumped and tossed the ball into the hoop and it went in with a quick swish and everyone's jaw dropped.
Hinata ran and caught the ball and began to bounce the ball again and he turned in his spot, voice halting in the song when he saw them, he dropped the ball like it had bitten him.
"Is it 7 already?" Hinata asked and rubbed his neck.
"Boke, since when did you know how to play basketball?" Kageyama demanded.
Hinata was bright red, and he closed his eyes and opened them, they were shinny and looked sad.
"I've been playing basketball since I was four."
Everyone seemed shocked, because he never talked about it, and they all knew he talked non-stop about volleyball and the tiny giant.
"You sing pretty good," Tsukishima said and Hinata nodded.
"I've also been doing that since I was four."
That was when Daichi realized he didn't know much about his younger kouhai and promised he would get team bonding sessions up and going.
"So, when did you start playing volleyball?" Nishinoya asked after they had put up the net and were finishing their stretches.
"I learned a bit at the end of my first year of middle school, but I only started to pick it up as soon as I came to Karasuno, the tiny giant really did inspire me… my last team… um" Hinata said. "It was pretty bad, at first we were really close… then all it became was about winning and to see who could get the most points."
"That doesn't sound very fun," Asahi said as he stepped beside Hinata who shook his head.
"It wasn't, and at first I thought that was how all teams where Until Ushijima and Kenma and Kuro showed my differently." He said with a smile. "I used to live in Tokyo and our middle schools had practice matches, and even though I wasn't officially on the volleyball team, since I was doing track and field, I watched them play. That's also how Nekoma got to play practice matches, I convinced Kuro to convince his coach and wola!" Hinata said and then demanded Asahi to teach him how to serve and spike like he did.
*Bonus Scene*
Tsukishima Kei loved all types of music, rap, classical, acoustic, live, nature, you get the point, right? He didn't love music just because his brother bought him a piano for his tenth birthday… no, his uncle Kai who was a music teacher in Tokyo and had invited him to come for a live music concert.
"He used to be my student," his uncle said pointing to a boy with bright orange hair and amber eyes. He wore a shirt with a sun on it and a logo on the side he couldn't read from the distance.
"Hello!" the boy with orange hair chirped.
"I'm Duke and this is Kodzuken… many of you follow our YouTube page so enjoy this song we wrote for you guys!" he yelled and then got serious. Sitting at the bench and played notes for forty seconds before the rift of a guitar joined.
"What's his real name?'" Tsukishima asked softly.
"Hinata Shoyo, and he is considered a music genius, he's been playing since he learned to walk," Kai said, and Tsukishima smiled.
He wanted to know that sunshine boy and he knew one day he would, and Tsukishima wondered how their first meeting would go. For the moment Tsukishima lost him in the lyrics that Hinata sang and wondered if his fingers would ever move that fast on the keyboard he had at home.
Later that night Tsukishima raced to the computer and typed in the stage name that Hinata had given: Duke and Kodzuken. There was about 400-page links and he clicked on the YouTube one. Seeing that the boy had done covers of his favourite songs, and their own songs, and Kei fell a tiny bit in love with someone he admired….
So, when they finally met in high school on that night, he didn't know what to do and had done the only thing he knew… was to be salty…
