Metropolis 2050
The dark sky lit up, explosions bursting in the night sky. The city of Metropolis being a warzone. Heroes and people scattered on the ground, dead or unmoving. Parademons roamed the skies with heroes attacking, and them returning with greater force. Heroes like Shazam and Green Lantern were still fighting. Batman took charge in the sky in the batplane, following him was the waverider being piloted by Ava Sharpe while the rest of the legends were on the ground.
Moving with only lightning able to be seen Flash punched a parademon. "Thanatos, Supergirl. You have to help Superman." He yelled to the two people flying behind him. Three parademons charged at them. Supergirl used her heat vision to kill one while Thanatos blasted the other two with shadow energy.
All of a sudden, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Firestorm flew past them into an already destroyed building. Flash stops and turns to go get them, but as he turns he has to dodge one of two beams coming at him. Supergirl and Thanatos stopped as a 9 foot tall man steps out the smoke.
"Time after time I've attacked your tiny planet. It's never personal when I do this" the man told the heroes left standing in front of him, "But what I'm about to do to this planet sure does put a smile on my face." The giant raised his arms, his arms glowing red. Flash looked at Superman and Supergirl who charged the giant.
As the giant slammed his hands on the ground, Flash looked at Thanatos. "You know what we have to do." He told him. Thanatos nodded and began to run next to Flash.
The wave caused by the giant coming upon them they ran faster. Thanatos unleashed his wings and flew even faster. "I don't know when you'll be but you have to gather us and warn us." Flash shouted to Thanatos as a portal opened up. "It's been an honor working with you." He replied as he flew into the portal.
Central City 2017
Thanatos popped out the portal and looked around, noticing he was in Central City. He flew up and saw an open field with three people fighting. "I remember this, Barry told me about this." he said to himself. He watched as the woman who he remembered as Frost fight someone who looked almost like Mecha Vibe before the war and a woman with the same powers as him.
He flew down and grabbed frost and threw her to the ground. Thanatos then turned and shot a bit of energy at the two others feet. "Stop this now!" he yelled. Frost glared at him, but he pulled a sword out of nowhere and pointed it at her. "I don't know what the deal is Frost but stay down." He commanded her.
Mecha Vibe look alike put his hands up like he was surrendering. "I won't ever kill you Cait." He began, slowly walking towards her while keeping an eye on Thanatos. "but I will give you a choice." He finished while pulling out a clear vial with a blue liquid. He threw it on the ground
All of a sudden Thanatos, Vibe, and the woman with him were thrown to the ground as lightning passed them. Thanatos immediately jumped up and gasped. Now he knew for sure where he was.
Savitar grabbed who he now realized was truly Vibe and growled at him, "You will pay for what you did! And you will die the same way twice." As Thanatos was about to hit him, Savitar was hit with an ice beam. He turned and saw Frost with a look of regret on her face.
Frost helped Vibe up as Savitar turned to her. "I knew you didn't have it in you, Caitlin." He told her. Frost and Thanatos got ready to attack, Flash ran up, ready to attack but was clotheslined instead. Savitar stood over Flash, glaring at him. "I only have a few minutes left. I can feel it, but before I go...I will kill everyone you love. Joe, Iris, and Wally. If I am going to die, then everything you love is going to die too." Savitar told Flash.
He turned and started walking away, Thanatos standing in front of the three people, two that he once knew, ready to protect them if need be. Flash growled, and as soon as Savitar started walking towards his friends he ran at him. Once he got to him, Flash vibrated Savitar out of his suit taking his place.
Flash stood over Savitar, slowly walking towards him. "How does it feel to get so close to your ascension and end up on the ground?" Flash questioned Savitar as he looked up at him shocked. "Now I see...it's written." Savitar responded, getting up. "Nothing's written." Flash yelled back.
Savitar tried to punch Flash, but using his suit Flash blocked it and hit Savitar in his chest launched him back a few feet. Savitar ran at Flash, but Flash grabbed him by his head and punched him again and again before letting him drop to his knees.
Forcing a blade out the suit, Flash aimed it at Savitar who had a smirk on his face. Thanatos heard Vibe and Frost gasp behind him. Savitar started breathing hard. "Do it!" he yelled while kneeling. "You kill me you become me. Either way, I live." Savitar finished.
The four of them watched as Flash struggled with the choice of killing Savitar or sparing him before the blade retracts. Flash vibrates himself. Suddenly the suit breaks apart. Savitar is astonished. "I'll never let the pain, the darkness, to determine who I am. I will never be you." Flash told him before punching him, knocking him out.
Or so Flash thought. As Flash turned and started walking towards Thanatos and crew, Savitar got up and ran at them.
Having enough and knowing what would happen next, Thanatos dashed forward grabbing Savitar by his throat and slamming him onto the ground. Knocking him out for sure.
An African American woman slowly walks forward, holding a gun aimed at Savitar. "Flash, you must put him back in the Speed Force prison. Otherwise someone else will have to take his place." Thanatos told Flash while holding a knocked out Savitar's throat.
"Who the hell are you?" He asked, hugging the woman who just came. Thanatos growled out," I'll explain later. You don't have much time." Two other speedsters came. Thanatos recognized Kid Flash but not the other. Turning back to Flash, Thanatos threw Savitar to him. "I'll see you later, but remember. Throw him back to the Speed Force or one of you will have to take his place."
Time Skip
Thanatos was flying above Star Labs, his wings flapping in the wind. He looked up to the sky and lightning gathered and started striking different parts of the city. He flew into the city, saving as many as he could from crashing vehicles and pieces of buildings falling.
A purple lightning bolt struck him as he moved a kid out the way of a bus, throwing him into a car. He stood up, lightning traveling all across his body. Thanatos shook his head and flew back to Star labs to see a portal open and a woman in front of it. He stayed out of sight and watched as Flash gave Savitar to the woman.
The woman grabbed Savitar and walked back into the portal. Thanatos landed behind Flash silently. "You know, that could've been you." He told Flash who whirled around to look at him.
Flash glared at Thanatos. "It's time you explain who you are." He said crossing his arms. Thanatos looked at the city, the city that only exsisted as a crater in his own time," Indeed, I shall."
They both entered Star Labs where Vibe and a few other people. Thanatos took off his mask and stared at the people assembled. Now that he could see them clearly he could see who was who. Barry Allen, Flash. Cisco Ramon, Vibe/Mecha Vibe, Iris West-Allen, who will become Star Sapphire, and Gypsy.
"My name is Mark Danvers. Adopted son of Kara Danvers. My hero name is Thanatos. I am Half Angel and Half Kryptonian. I come from a distant future to warn you of a war for the fate of the universe."
