Author's note: This whole stuff is a test if I have the talent to be a writer. Enjoy!
"I like your eyes the most, Ollie. They are colored differently from each other."
"Do you like me also, Senpai?"
In a park surrounded by forest under the ever present moonlight, two teenage girls can be seen walking down the dirt path.
One of them can be seen startled with her companion's reply.
That companion, beaming with happiness because of the other's reaction, held the other's hand before switching to a begging look.
"Senpai, should we head straight home already? It's still early in the night. Maybe we can spend some more time together in some hidden, dark corners of the city if you know what I mean."
Followed by a perverted laugh, Ollie tried to convince her companion while walking down the park from school.
"Uhh..."
"Why don't we just take a little rest in that park chair over there atop the hill?" She added while dragging her companion with her, not even noticing her Senpai about to open her mouth and disagree with her first suggestion.
After a short walk, the duo finally reached the said chair. But before even she can sit down she got hit so fast by something small, flat, and flying. Dragging her out of sight from her senpai.
The last moments that she remembered is her scream reverberating in the air as she got flung for a hundred meters or so from where she originally stood.
After some more seconds everything went black as every...do you really want me to describe how she died horribly?
"She's about to gain consciousness, be quick on composing yourself." She heard a man speak with an ethereal, soothing voice.
"Yes, Death Sensei. Just like how we practiced right?" A voice of a woman replied. Ollie opened her eyes to see a pink-haired woman with a scary looking scythe on her back... and two huge badonkers.
Yes. Those donky-donks that Ollie can only dream about on having. Maybe she can add her to her harem, that at least cheered her up.
With a groan, Ollie slowly got herself up. While dusting herself off using her hands, she noticed the said woman currently inhaling and exhaling. Being nervous, maybe?
"Do you know why you're here?" The scary lady asked, now Ollie found herself wondering about the question too. Evidently, she is too busy daydreaming about adding that woman to her harem.
"...No. Not really." Ollie answered, annoyed about suddenly being cut off from her daydreams.
"You are already dead." Much to her shock, the scythe lady said it on a deadpan, neutral manner.
"Waaaaaaaaaaait wait wait wait wait." Ollie can now be seen approaching the two. "Is this about the meme or am I really dea-." Ollie is now crumbling to dust, being blown back into the physical world.
"Ugh, Necromancers. They make our work complicated. Should I hunt her?" The woman asked, while her companion only shook his head.
"No, my student. That woman still has her fate tied to the physical, living world. Which means that dying is also a process that she must experience in her life." He answered, which earned an annoyed "hmph" sound from the woman.
"The latter part sounds like someone I kno-" She replied before being abrupted by the voice of another woman calling her name.
"CALLIIIII!" The Phoenix said, her showing up caused Mori to give herself a facepalm, as she realized she might have jinxed the fiery bird's arrival.
The Grim Reaper looked at her student, before replying. "Don't worry about that woman, I already casted a "Hazy-dream" spell in case we'll see her again in the future." Which will happen eventually, as the Grim Reaper knows how to read a living being's fate.
He disappeared, much to the helpless look that his student showed to him because of the newcomer.
"Ugh..." Ollie tried to look around into wherever she got...sent? Teleported? She found her current location to be dark. So dark that closing and opening her eyes doesn't make any difference.
Her left eye feels weird though, her eyelids can feel something solid every time she closes it.
At first, she tried to look around. Only to learn that... there's something in her head that keeps her from turning around.
She also noticed sounds of squeaking and scratching nearby...
"Eek!" only to see rats scurrying away into a couple of holes on this...whatever that's containing her right now. She released a small sound of surprise, and now a surge of panic suddenly creeped on her slowly.
Ollie then tried raising her head, only for it to receive a thud. She then tried touching around frantically to see how much space she can move with.
"Am I trapped in a box!? HELP! SOMEBODY SAVE ME!" She screamed while pushing around everywhere, hoping that any part of this compartment would give in.
A linear light came out from the left side of the box after some more seconds, grunts, and pushes. From her head reaching to her feet, the said light became larger and larger until it's big enough for Ollie to squirm out.
With a groan, she got herself out from whatever this thing that tried to imprison her. When she reached the ground, she had a wide-eyed expression after looking behind her.
To see that her "prison box" is actually a casket placed on the ground instead of being in a dug-in hole. As is the tradition.
As if the universe wanted to mock her further, her left arm suddenly fell down to the ground due to being overexerted when she was opening her "grave".
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Ollie screamed before falling back to the ground, as she slipped in a muddy puddle of water. Then her dream suddenly came back to her.
Or at least the only part that she can remember where the scary woman said "You are already dead".
She winced after three second of non-stop screaming with her eyes full of doubt. Her left arm just falling like that should hurt. It should bleed.
Then after looking further down from where her left arm fell off, she saw her reflection through the puddle of water. Albeit not crystal clear due to being muddied, Ollie can see something long behind her head.
Or so she thought, only to see that it actually is sticking out from her head after she guided both of her hands on, what she learned as a sword after touching it's sharpened ends and examining it's handle.
Not only that, she also saw stitches all over her body. Also a button as a replacement for her left eye.
Must be the reason why it felt solid back then.
She then ran away inside the open casket with her head peering outside to scan the surroundings, as she heard a rustling of leaves in the distance.
Its just her imagination though, but a frightened cute zombie hiding in a casket is such a sight to imagine. I take it, reader?
Anyways, considering all of the things that she had discovered, realistically she would be dead. But then, nothing realistic ever happened ever since she got yeeted away to the forest that time.
No part of her body hurts or bleeds anyway.
"Everything that's happening right now doesn't make sense. The only thing that can make it worse is if I can still pick up that arm, connect it to my shoulder, and it would work like nothing happened." Ollie mumbled to herself.
She then got herself up to reach for the fell off arm. Ollie is still doubting herself for the sudden crazy idea of her left arm still working after it completely fell off.
Until it did. After pushing it down a little deeper she felt some part of it solidifying. A flex of fingers and some stretching, Ollie stared agape at her newly connected arm.
Her mind that was trying to grasp the whole situation ever since she found herself flying in the park, just shut down and gave up.
If anyone would be near the graveyard. If only the grave keeper is still awake. If only there are any birds perched up on nearby trees.
Yet the only ones that can hear Ollie's mad-driven wail and scream are the unliving, deceased skeletons that only wanted to be left alone in their final rest.
After half a minute, she regained her sanity. Pampering her cheeks to compose herself. But while doing so, she noticed that her grave is surrounded by lots of trashes and mess.
As if someone hurriedly ran away from this place.
Some shoes, with most of them missing a pair. Some ribbons with different colors. Pieces of cloth, bandages, and some more random and small stuffs like broken lipstick and earrings.
...and some tailoring kit that's inside of circle-shaped, metal cookie container.
Shame, Ollie thought. She really expected some cookies in there.
She then decided to quickly grab what she can into the casket and repair her damaged dress.
After a dozen minutes while being comforted with her cheerful humming (because seriously, she prefer that over the silence of the night in a cemetery), Ollie finally felt satisfied with her, albeit clumsily repaired, dress.
"This can do. It's only temporary, until I get home."
Even though she admitted that the stitches in her dress greatly paired the stitches in her own body, she still needed to replace it and further hide her... zombified body. Which is unachievable due to the lack of fabric.
After tidying herself up with her different pair of shoes and the cutesy looking big red ribbon, Ollie now resolved herself and tried to remember if she even know this place.
Only to fail to remember where she currently is.
Oh well, it's not like she took interest in cemeteries and the dead before.
With a newfound resolve (a large part of it coming from desperation), Ollie then set on a journey to find her home.
She want to get a more beautiful dress and plan to see her senpai again.
And maybe try to find the scythe lady from her "dreams-but-doesnt-really-feel-like-it.
After a lot that happened, Ollie's first thoughts when everything calmed down is a woman.
Not even being dead can stop her from building her harem.
Meanwhile, almost a quarter of mile away from Ollie, a guttural scream can be heard in the sky.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHH!?"
Author's note: Took me a month before being satisfied with this, being busy with personal stuffs, and making it as close to the original lore as I can.
Even if I'll write more, I don't know what I will be writing next. But there's already three ideas wrestling in my mind:
A. Continuation of this,
B. Mori, and;
C. The girl with a guttural scream.
If I portrayed the characters wrong in this story, I can only apologize and say "gomenasai".
