Hey guys, so this is my first fanfic, I've Gotten the idea from multiple fanfics that I've read and well this is the first chapter. Now that I think about it, I can feel why most writers just stop writing or do 'short' stories. Don't feel short when I'm writing them. So yeah, hope you guys enjoy, make sure to leave a review, cya!

Prologue:

Poseidon flashed into Hestia's bedroom.

"My love," he sighed, "The news I have is, not ideal."

"What is it Poseidon?" she replied carefully, she too bore news, how Poseidon would take it she had no idea.

"Zeus has … ZeushastoldmeImustmarryAmphitritedaughterofOceanustosettlethewarintheoceanandIreallydon'twanttobutIhavetobutIloveyoubutIstillhaveto"

"Woah woah, slow down, I heard marry, you want to marry me? Zeus has told you to marry me? Yes, yes I accept!" She squealed at the last part and grinned. "So, where's the ring?" she teased.

Poseidon sighed, a hopelessly sad expression on his face. Hestia noticed this expression and grew wary, but on the inside she was beaming and hopeful.

"Dear, Zeus is attempting to force me to accept the proposal of marriage to Amphitrite sent by Oceanus to settle the dispute in the sea." Hestia's smile declined until the most heart-breaking frown was etched on her face.

"So, you have to marry Amphitrite?" she muttered with watery eyes. Poseidon sighed yet again before nodding hopelessly.

"Yes dear but I do not want to, I swear on the River Styx!" Hestia's eyes widened before nodding solemnly. A lone tear dragged itself down her face, and she wiped it off hurriedly.

"So my baby boy is going to be without a father?" She blurted out before realising what she said, this time though, it was in horror.

"Whattt?" Poseidon cried out. "What do you mean your baby boy?" Hestia smiled sheepishly;

"Well, after; you know what… I asked Apollo and he said there was a baby boy growing inside of here." She said patting her stomach. A small smile made its way onto Poseidon's face before realisation hit him like the leviathan.

"This is going to make it even harder; and I could barely bring myself to consulting you before signing the contract."

"And you can't just ignore Zeus and Oceanus?"

"Dear, Atlanteans are dying; I would love to ignore Zeus and Oceanus, but Atlantis will lose this war if we don't accept. And you know, my fatal flaw of loyalty will not allow that!" Hestia reached out and wiped a tear of the cheek of Poseidon.

"My love, I understand your predicament and how tricky it is for you. You know that I love you, and I know that you love me, but if you must do this, then I will not sacrifice the lives of your people for my requirements, no matter how much I need them."

Poseidon pressed his lips to hers one last time, before flashing out of the room.
