The story bellow, its a rewriting of the episode Murdoch Ahoy (S7E1) but instead of the events of the real episode, we have this story here.

The inspration for this story, came from a story i tryed to write last year, about a murder on board of Titanic, so the characters here will be resembling the movie´s one, with different names.

Other than that, as always, i like to write William and Julia always married, regardless the season, so, this story won´t be different.

Hope you enjoy.

The character John Jacob Astor is a real person, so, i´m just writing him here, because this story remind me of Titanic.

CHAPTER 1

On Julia´s 40th birthday, William paid for a small cruise around Canada´s coast, aboard the luxurious ship that had been inaugurated that month, the R.M.S Montagné, which according to a few people, was the ship of dreams.

It was a surprise of course, William knew Julia wanted to go aboard that ship since its inauguration, so, this way, he asked his inspector a few days away and give George the money, so the constable could pay for the passage and reservation to him. Everything was great.

On the day of the boarding, William invite Julia for a stroll on a carriage through town, so when William managed to ask the hotel´s footman to load the such carriage, the couple left. During part of the ride, William keep asking Julia things about work, discussing their previous cases and remembering the past, when they were about to approach the docks, William blindfold his wife, who seemed confused.

''William, what is it?'' she asked with a laugh.

''You will see.'' He answered simply, despite of her insistence.

Eventually, when they parked near the docks, he helped her out of the carriage and as expected, as soon as he took the blindfold away from her face, Julia´s jaw dropped in surprise.

''Happy Birthday, my love.'' William smiled.

''William, this is the R.M.S Montagné?'' Julia gasped.

''Of course, the Ship Of Dreams itself and I paid for a small cruise. Just the two of us, for your birthday.'' He explained.

''Aww, How did you manage?''

''I had my way,'' the man looked at her with adoration. ''Now, shall we?'' he asked and taking his arm, they went aboard the ship.

''William, it wasn´t that necessary!'' Julia exclaimed with a laugh, upon seeing the cabin they are going to stay.

''Its your birthday, darling, of course it's necessary.'' He replied ''You deserve everything.''

''I don´t deserve a so romantic husband like you…'' she said kissing him.

''What an indecency!'' an angry woman exclaimed behind them. ''And they said this ship is parted according to classes…''

''I beg your pardon?'' the detective frowned, ready to give the woman an anawer, when Julia hold him back.

''Don´t bother William.'' She whispered.

''That woman is a snake if I may say.'' Someone laugh behind the couple. ''If you had seeing the way she treated her maid, poor thing.''

''Who are you?'' William asked.

''Oh, I beg your pardon, my name is John Jacob Astor and you may be Detective Murdoch? I saw you on the newspaper last week, congratulation on solve the stable case.''

''Oh, thank you and this is my wife Julia. Are you here in Toronto for business, Mr. Astor?''

''Nice to meet you, Detective, Mrs. Murdoch. Nd no, I came a few weeks ago, wanted to see the Montagné´s inauguration, but missed and decided to take a chance now,'' he smiled to the couple. ''Enjoy the trip, hope we can catch up.'' He smiled and left.

A few horst later, when they made their way back to their cabin, Julia and William were surprised by a young woman, around her 16-years old, who passed running to them, almost pushing Julia to the floor and continue her way without apologize. No one however, noticed she was crying.
