It's been months since Soma Cruz destroyed the amalgamation of pitied fool that thought he can copy everything, Menace. It seems that cult attacks are greatly diminished since that day.
But still , Soma does still has to wary about another cult showing up , at the point that he had to distance himself from Mina Hakuba, his childhood friend , for a while. It's painful to cut a connection with someone who is practically with you for a long time , Soma knew that , but after learning the incident which almost turn him into Dracula once again, Soma decided that this is for their own good until he could find a better solution.
And by that , he decided to apply for the university in Romania , with some reason.
One, it was the courtesy of Curtis Lang , Julius Belmont's apprentice and an acquintance of Soma , that recommended him to apply in Romania, in addition , he will make sure that Mina and his friends in Japan are well-protected. Since Curtis doesn't want Dracula being resurrected as much as Soma did , as well as fighting his own friend , he adviced Soma to move to Romania , exactly Wallachia , where Dracula once lived. As long as Mina is safe , he'll do anything... even if he must move away from her.
The second reason is that Soma partially wanted to know who Dracula is and making sure he doesn't repeat the same mistake as that day.
After a struggling and excruciating entrance exam , Soma is finally accepted at one university in Wallachia and decided to move there. He originally planned to rent an apartment and live in a small quarter , but Genya Arikado, his other acquintance that worked as a Japanese government agent, offered Soma a rented house, owned by Arikado himself.
With one condition ; due to strict weapon regulations , Soma had to hand ALL of his weapon he gathered to Japanese government. He had to buy a new handgun from Hammer , albeit secretly because Arikado being Arikado.
It's just a regular day , where Soma just heading straight home after receiving the result of his exam. He didn't expect to score so bad , he is sure he answered right on that particular question.
Soma sighed as he saw his result , while he walked... and walked... and walked.
When he's already close to his destination , he felt something shaking in the ground.
"Earthquake ?!" Soma assumed as he make run for it. Soma rushed to find a shelter in case falling concrete falls and crushing his body from above.
He finally decided to hide in the park , at the kids dome to be exact. Ten seconds have passed...
Looks like the earthquake already stopped. Sigh.. it's just been three weeks since he enter the university and he might lost his house.
Soma sighed , as if defeated and decided to get out after the earthquake stopped. He was expecting the environment and the skyscrapers crumbling to the ground and Wallachia in ruins.
What he wasn't expecting is all of the buildings he saw are completely untouched as if nothing happened.
This is too strange. An earthquake that intense should probably at least causing minor damage , yet the buildings he encountered so far doesn't suffer any kind of damage.
"What in the world happened here-" asked a confused Soma , while he witnessing another person came out. A man who dressed in an old-fashioned clothes has been walking past him.
Not just that , he also seen another old lady wearing something like a long gown and a sleeveless tunic with whimples to cover her hair.
He did saw that kind of attire in Google , but it's his first time for him to see someone actually wearing that.
Surely enough... they aren't ghosts , right ? Everything that happens before Soma's eyes starts to boggle him. First a mysterious earthquake , and now this ?!
He kept walking and pondering about everything he just saw , as he tried to comprehend it.
But first things first ; he must contact Arikado or Curtis to make sure everyone in Japan was safe just in case. Unfortunately luck isn't on his side today , he cannot get any signal to even call any of them.
"Crap, this means i'm stuck here." he muttered while finding a way out from this mess.
But not for long , because he just heard a loud shriek of battle cries not far from where he located.
When there is a battle cry , Soma can only conclude one thing that caused it ; monsters.
Soma then took a handgun out of his coat and started to check how much ammunition he has right now.
"Not much , huh... i just hope that they aren't too many." he thought as he reloading his gun . He only have one reload remaining ; better use it wisely.
Now that Soma is prepared , he started to march towards the noise with gun in hand.
Hello , this is my first fic of the fandom and the site ! I used to write on Facebook notes before it was deleted.
Castlevania was one of my first games as a kid , although i started with Bloodlines , and now replaying Aria/Dawn saga.
From the DS squad , i liked Soma the most all of the protagonist because of how unique he is.
Feel free to give me an advice and a little critique on the story.
